MGA Fastback Coupe
The stylish fastback aluminum bodied MGA was the brainchild of Warren Kennedy of Classic Restorations in Bedfordshire, through his passion for exotic sweeping bodylines and Italian design Kennedy has taken a pure British marque and added his elegant vision.
The MGA Fastback Coupe started life as a standard 1957 MGA with a standard bubble roof; the steel body was stripped back to the basic bulkhead and redesigned with a Superleggera inner frame with an aluminum skin. Kennedy’s forethought of sweeping rear wings and flowing backdrop was the visualization.
With charming front and rear lights, sweeping side vents and Zagato flush fitting door handles right down to the sculptured twin tail pipes with these delicate styling features just fit the car exquisitely.
Kennedy had a vision and consumed all the highlights from other cars and incorporated them into his own showcase.
The exterior flows, as the interior was entirely for the drives eye and wellbeing, plentiful instrumentation in a 1950’s styled theme, purposeful designed door panels and furniture to complement the touring bucket seats in traditional Connelly leather and Wilton carpet.
There are more fine art touches and feature then the eye can visualize all out of Kennedys head and drawn up over weekends of planning in his busy workshop.
Many trips to European Classic car events looking for the rare fixtures and fitting from the 50’s to compliment the design, even down to an original Les Leston Steering wheel.
The exterior is painted in the traditional MG Midnight Blue with bright red leather trim.
An 1800 engine was sought from an early MGB and rebuilt with modifications, match to a 5-speed gearbox. Trying to keep the Engine bay as authentic as possible to the original MGA.
The car is a total one off and not to be repeated, fully road legal, tried and tested by the artist own hands.
Warren Kennedy is best known for his collection of early Healey's. Often seen as a regular competitor in the Mille Miglia, with an old school love of MGA's. Having been in the restoration business for 40 years, his business based in Bedfordshire has restored 100’s of cars. Gorgeous thing. Entirely believable as a period production piece. This is a bit whiny and nitpicky but the forest of exhaust tips grates.

Its sexy ! The big tires look goofy, but, Would actually work well w/ MGA chassis. Narrow, hard radials sure dont!! Love,,,DUBS,,,

It would have been nice to see the engine\; that said, the 6 exhaust tips were a little much unless its a 12 cyl

The engine is a up-rated unit, still only four cylinders, a lot of the styling was taken from other cars and the exhaust from the Bugatti, so its more of a styling excise of what the designer and owner wanted.
