This MGB had an exhaust that not only didn't fit well but was ugly looking. We changed the whole system and gained 2" of ground clearance and made the system quieter too.
The MGB GT is not a convertible, it's a hardtop/hatchback and was available with a V-8 originally. The MGB's were all 4 cylinders and there was an MGC with an I-6. Converting the B's to a V-8 is fairly common, fairly easy. I had an MGB and liked it but SO slow! I then purchased an MGB V-8 converted, similar to this. The most common V-8 was the 3.5L aluminum V-8 originally GM (1962 Cutlass and Skylark) which was sold to Rover and used for many years. The V-8 being aluminum bolts right up and is actually no heavier than the iron I-4, no suspension mods needed! Thanks so much for posting this!
Fantastic work guys! Almost makes your "welds_bands_&_bends" look effortless. Just a personal note; A Tuesday upload is a long wait for LHT addicts like myself!
where I live our speed bumps at grocery stores are kinda big, I'm willing to bet if my exhaust hung that low it would've been ripped apart by the speed bumps but nice exhaust fix, love the channel
So the Rover V8 was available in the MG B, but only in Europe for some reason. That was the 3.5 160bhp engine. Being a US market car its likley that the car has been converted to the V8. The 4.0 will either be 190bhp or 240bhp depending on what car the engine was taken from.
Very nice work! Approved! That's a really nice MG! I had one back in 1996 (my first car). It had about 65hp and would struggle to do 120kph. 4 speed. I loved it never the less.
The Rover V8 was an Aluminium block engine it was originally a Buick engine but you yanks preferred cast blocks so Rover bought th writes to manufacture it I have seen them bored out to 5 Ltrs and over 500 hp
Wow a MGB without rust . You must be having a laugh 😂😂. Indeed most old school English vehicles under body are horrible not too mention the rust I remember repair the spindles/ bearing once that was fun even taking the wheel off you need a rubber hammer / mallet wtf 😂😂
LHTPerformance indeed and I haven’t been their yet but do get vehicles from time to time imported from the UK and I’ve seen some shockers full of rust , still do not understand why how they pass compliance 😂😂
@@alycestapleton the Climate and salty roads is what totally kills cars in the UK. I've seen modern BMWs starting to rot after three years, its unbelievable.
