SAME SORT OF INSTALL I DID WITH A '92 5.0. AOD AND LSD. ACTUALLY I BASICALLY PUT THE MGBGT BODY ON A MUSTANG BY USING ALL THE SUSPENSION. I'LL HAVE MY VID UP SOON.
Extremely clean Conversion ive owned several British Cars over the years like a 53 TD, 55 TF1500, 64 Healey Sprite , and a 79 B i had on the road for 14 years ive seen a lot of these conversions and yours is one of the better ones the whole car looks great with the Chrome Bumpers original hood ( no scoops or bumps ) and of course the wire knock offs ! Going to be even sharper with a decent PAINT Job too is that something you will do as well ? My Bwas the first car i had sprayed (Carmine red ) i used a DuPont 2 Stage product and the overall quality was better than a DIYer without any major flaws or issues yet ironically the price of materials wound up being as much as the local Maico wanted to spay the entire car w/o any body work of course but in the end i was gloomy that i did do the car as she was ive of my Babies with many fun stories
Its always a mistake to put V8s in little imports--they are not made for powerful heavy V8s--not enough brakes, structural strength, especially if you run it hard. It might work if you just idle it around. Make a better compromise--a Honda V6 for example, with a T10 trans.
Damn,Nick, that's NICE. As a gearhead, I'M digging this. That rig probably weighs Less than a TON, SO it's ridiculous to have a 5.0 in it!! Is working on cars YOUR Dad's vocation, or just a hobby? # Sleeper MG
Was the chrome bumper change over pretty easy using stock parts ? I'm getting my 77 Saturday 06/13/20 Plan to do a v8 swap also. Don't know what v8 . It depends on what's available locally.
In the UK the MGB was available as a V8. The block used was an aluminium one based on a Buick engine (very similar to that used in Range Rovers). It's a well-known tried and tested conversion with many of the parts available off-the-shelf; there may be suppliers in the UK that can advise you of parts availability. Similarly, the conversion from rubber to chrome bumpers is an oft-trodden path.
Also second question. I want you to inform me or ask your wife some advice on something. How would a girl feel if she finds out the man she fell in love with was supposed to be bald but instead used hair loss medication to survive baldness?
