It’s just so funny to think of someone doing a stealth play through, only to catch a cold and be in a situation where you have to time it just right and snake ends up sneezing.

Not to mention that in the game's conditions it should be more common. Snake never dries his clothes once they get wet and going around in them for longer periods of time could easily cause cold even in a warm environment. Now that I think of it, they could have made a game mechanic of this all. Some of the uniforms could have been rain clothing instead of just regular BDUs and when it comes to swimming Snake could just change the clothes. I guess I'm going way too deep into details now....
I wouldn't be surprised if they had this planned as a mechanic and took it out because it was too complex, and all the factors for getting a cold were removed so it just takes a really long time.
I wouldnt be surprised if it was intended to be very common, but they realized quickly that implementing a full mechanic around avoiding it would take too much time/resources... or it was either annoying or somewhat unclear to players, which would also be fair.
I guess they cut it out because it was too complex. Remember that Kojima tried to turn The End's fight into a 2 week long fight and Konami didn't let him. It wouldn't be so far fetched for him to try other stuff with diseases and other mechanics.
MIles Edgeworth You can actually kill him at the docks too if you're fast enough, which now that I realized it, there's a really fast way AND an obscenely long way of killing him which is pretty funny.
Meanwhile in the remake: whenever playing there is a 0.5% of getting a heart attack wich can happen at anytime but will most likely occur during the ending sequence of a speedrun
Your controller freaking vibrates. The thought behind stuff like this in this game is so amazing. Your body shakes so you feel it in the controller, which in turn makes it harder for you to rely on mechanics that alert you through vibration feedback. And of course if you had a cold in a sneaking mission you would randomly sneeze and give away your location. Thank you KojiPro for this beautiful gem of a videogame. If only they kept these features in the following games. I feel like all MGS5 had to do was to improve on the MGS3 survival mechanics while exploring the open world infiltration aspect, and it could've been a lot better than it was.

Metal gear solid, having a common illness happen to almost everyone in real life onto a digital video game. Hands down the most realistic (despite not really being realistic) game on this planet. Suck It GTA V

My second play through I caught a cold when snake was captured and tortured however I didnt realize how rare it was. I thought it was scripted but didn't remember it on the first play
I remember trying to catch one for curiosities sake and nothing worked. People said stuff like having to lie prone in that one patch of snow in the mountains and nothing worked, being naked in Grad when it's snowing on your first visit, being naked in the rain in the swamp, etc. Some mentioned holding a guard for a long time, etc. Have not finished watching and I honestly think it might be bugged or something. Done watching now, honestly that's pretty dumb you can only get it in the swamp, I wonder if it can happen when naked in the rain when fighting The End?
I remember from your MGS4 playthrough that you were a bit upset over the copyright strikes from music you used. I noticed that here when you used "Stains of Time" you used the vocals only and you used "Red Sun" for about 10 seconds. I wish I was here to give you some tips on how to avoid copyright strikes. I have to constantly avoid being struck. Here's a pro tip. If you are about to use something that you have suspicions of it being copyright struck, upload that soundbyte to RU-vid and if it will get hit, you'll know immediately. In one of my videos I was gonna use a song for the outtakes and it was made by a real band, but I uploaded the 10 second clip I was gonna use and it wasn't copyright struck. Nice video, good luck!
Thanks for the advice, however i am very well aware of all this, the copyright claim that got my video was manual, even with all of the precautions, you cant stop that.
Ruby Rose: It's music from Metal Gear Rising. The songs he used in this video was "Stains of Time," the Monsoon boss fight, and "Red Sun," Sundowner's boss fight music. I used to not like Red Sun but it grew on me. lol
Final verdict: I guess when it comes to the “cold” disease, the Kojima developers just got lazy and be like “ok let’s let the player stand in this S P E C I F I C spot in a S P E C I F I C amount of time to test their patience. Cause why not?”

Man ... This game has so many details , one great history , awesome characters , beautiful scenarios , great weapons ... I can really say , it's my favorite game .... Oh , and the best soundtrack too , SNAAAAKE EATEEEEEEEER

Ya that's when I usually get it during a European Extreme playthough. I think most people play on lower difficulties though which stuff like this is a lot less likely to happen.
european extreme is the only difficulty lol, yeah generally that difficulty procs things like injuries more easily. he must be on normal or hard although i can barely remember the terms for those difficulties as they are pretty braindead boring imo anyway.
