MHGU - Charge Blade Gaming 

First time seeing that, curious as well

I was using an armor skill called trump card, it pretty much makes your hunter arts better. It activates when the monster is tripped, paralyzed or in a trap. You can tell when it’s active when your arm gets a yellow glow. In that instance, I had knocked shagaru out of the air so the skill activated, shagaru got up but the skill was still active for some reason and so it boosted my absolute readiness.

You legit need a big brain to perform well with it too. Spacing and perfect timing like GS, big moveset to remember like HH, quite the learning curve

didn't play gu much but when gen came out, cb felt like straight garbage

@@lecommenter8528 Yeah I didn’t play much of CB in Gen but it was my main weapon in MHGU. Dunking monsters with aerial CB is just really fun for me.

@@w0nderlord02 if you run an elemental CB build it has some ridiculous elemental output. Btw elemental phials deal *300%* of the elemental damage of the weapon. No crit element build needed either!

Rise cb hitlag is terrible, so much hitlag for axe mode when it hits like a wet noodle. It just needs to be a bit faster currently it's carried by wirebug skills. You need so much to make it work and it doesn't have the oomph it wants to have.

I’d suggest watching one of gaijin hunter’s weapon tutorials first. That really helped me with learning how to use weapons in GU. To be familiar with the attacks you can do and how to use them is an important step to making weapons feel more natural to use. For charge blade in specific though I feel like knowing how to use guard points is pretty important, you don’t have to completely master them but knowing them is very helpful. For striker charge blade you have an instant guard point when doing the x+a in sword mode, it’s incredibly useful for closing gaps while staying safe so you can follow up with the charged a attack to fill up phials. Then you also have an instant guard point when morphing from sword to axe mode which is very useful because you could possibly follow up with a phial attack if you had guarded something. For adept style and aerial style you also have access to the adept dodge and aerial jump which can help you avoid attacks and counter attack. Charge blade is a pretty preemptive weapon, meaning based off what the monster is gonna do you’re gonna prepare yourself for the attack, whether by preparing to guard point, adept dodge, adept guard, aerial jump etc.

I feel like part of it might be the AED, you have much less reason to AED in world and rise especially in rise when you can just get 5 phials for one wirebug

@@TheNamelessLemon I have to disagree. 4u and world/iceborne did it way better. The damage isn't there, it's guardpoint got shafted. the phails are weak as hell. That's not to say you can't have fun using it. i personally don't like it very much. CB and gunlance got shafted in this game.

@@Zaney_ They definitely got nerfed, charge blade understandably so, gunlance not so much and it got a bit too nerfed. But honestly from 4U to Gen charge blade kinda got a redesign so to speak. It plays differently and I like it, using the guard points as a way to defend while still being on the offensive is something I like a lot. Lance in world sort of reminds me of it and that’s probably why lance is my favorite world weapon. However I haven’t used charge blade as much in world, but from what I’ve played it’s kinda of a return to 4U form and it’s balanced better as to not be overpowered as compared to other weapons. All in all, I really like GU charge blade but it’s fine if you prefer it in 4U and world.

Is the CB not stronger in World Iceborne than in 4U ? The damage output was a bit to high in 4U right. And how did the gunlance get nerfed exactly. (I know the heatgage)
