This is my 20+ year old gas grill, and it is still going strong. I just need to refurbish it a bit with a new burner and ignitor.

Truly appreciate this video. My neighbors put an old gas grill at the end of their driveway last weekend. I have been driving by it for days wishing I had a truck. Stopped to attempt to put it in my Crosstrek but I could barely move it. My hoarder mind HAD to have it then. I can make a million things out of this grill. Well, no one had gotten it by the time I found someone and now she is in my yard. Was going to turn it into some kind of wood burning oven until I googled the brand name I had never heard of. Did you know that a new MHP JNR, on sale, costs over $1200? What a SCORE!! She needs a new burner, igniter and a cleaning to make her full service, and a new base down the road for a full restore. I LOVE her. Happy days, happy days!

@@dazzlingdaveyoyo Oh Dave! I am over the moon. Called MHP this morning to find mine was created in 2003. Watched a video of how they are made and feel they are more like works of art. Your video was very helpful in that I learned not to even think about universal replacement parts. I have neighbors who have had 5 new grills in 10 years. We have ones that will be a multigenerational heirlooms. We are grill keepers, not owners.

I had one of these that was permanantly post mounted and fed with my house gas line. I lasted 20 years and I loved it the whole time. I moved last winter and now this spring I bought a new one for the new house. I had to go LP since there is no gas line to this house (Electric only). I went with the same grill head on the wheeled mount with a column to hide the tank. Hopefully I'll be grilling again tomorrow.

Wow, what a great video! Mine became nonfunctional today. I looked on the side and my mhp-jnr was built in 1997! I have never rebuilt one of these so your video was perfect. Thank you! Is there a replacement part site that you would recommend?

Found one on FaceBook Market place for $150.. MHP Optimum natural gas with a base to mount to deck etc. Waiting to hear back on condition of burner, grates etc.. $1400 new

Great deal, you are going to love it! Even if you have to replace the burners, it is a great grill.

@@dazzlingdaveyoyo just picked it up today.. knocked them down to $50 since the burner was pretty shot along with grate that hold the little porcelain briquettes. Question this one came with a long ass pole for use inground. Do you know if the poles that have the flat base for use one decks etc would fit this one? Model is TJK and found a JNR for sale super cheap that I would get just for its pole/base which would be cheaper than ordering a new pole/base.

@@bigblue3568 I am not sure about the base pole differences. As you saw in the video, I bought the one mounted on wheels. (27 years ago when I bought it, I knew I wasn’t in my townhouse for long.) I would think different models would mount to the alternate bases,but have no solid facts to back that up. Good luck!
