I fought him for the first time today and I also thought I could hide behind the ice pillars- now i know that he's not like behemoth :( and we all died
you can use rocksteady on Alatreon just dont clutch its head :) but still i managed to cart a few times that way when i was smashing his front leg with my hammer and done spinning clutch combo and for some reason got clutched into his head instead of leg :(
I thought the best mantles/boosters to bring was Vitality and health booster. I'm probably wrong cause I've only beaten alatreon twice and they were both done with friends.
@5:05 - Fun fact: Using a whetstone counts as crouching, so if you do it in brush the monster will usually lose sight of you, allowing you to sharpen in peace.
3:26 Most people didn’t know this, but Alatreon had a day one Nerf. He now only had the power of all elements, but could shift his physical form to stretch across the whole battlefield, bringing mass panic to the intial hunters, being able to strike with these jagged SPIKES which the devs were so proud to emphasize. You thought Escaton Judgement was OP? This monster was 12x as hard. So grateful for that day one Nerf, now I can almost get him to 1/3 health solo before inevitably failing. Thanks Capcom! For real tho, I’m not as upset as I was anymore, it’s only a matter of time before I slay it. I still think DPS checks aren’t what monster hunter is about, but they didn’t want us to steamroll this one.
@@joevaldez4889 Your average player isn't some min-maxing WR speed runner that literally wastes their whole life trying to optimize their already nonsensical playstyle just to shave off three milliseconds off their TTK. Just because some random asian makes things look easy doesn't mean it actually is.
Just last night I was hunting with randoms in MH4U and one person was farming Raging Brachy. The first hunt went super well (I think I took maybe ONE hit throughout the entire hunt!), but it was followed by a hunt where we all got carted, one by one, within about 60 seconds of each other i.e. that one went downhill FAST.

The hunter has withdrawn from the quest.
Anyone know where to find the updated version of SmartHunter found at 0:29? The ones I can find haven't been updated for 3 months so they don't include Alatreon.
