The more I search about CB, the more I learn. I ain't no speedrunner by any means, but the feeling of learning something new and putting it into practice most of the time seems to pay off greatly. Thanks for this very useful bit of information, and I hope you get more world records with this beauty of a weapon! Cheers!
There are so many levels to the Charge Blade which makes it so addictive to learn and master and glad to see you share a similar love for it! You're most welcome and thx so much for the support!! 😊
I've always known how to guard point but when your GP tips video showed up in my recommendations, I watched it anyway and I was pretty impressed with how in depth you went. BUT THEN I looked at your other videos and found this GEM. I have NEVER used hops tactically let alone known how to abuse the i-frames on them. Every time I have done an i-hop, it's been on accident.Thank you so much for putting this info out there! I'm looking forward to learning more from you. Keep up the good work.
Really glad you enjoyed the videos and found it valuable! Thx a lot for your support and I’ll be releasing a new CB guide within the next week or so, so keep a look out!
@@SH3RMSY I actually have a question for you. I've begun practicing hops using the more difficult/practical method. I have it down for the most part but occasionally when doing consecutive hops, my hunter will turn 90 degrees and hop towards me. Have you come across this and do you know why this happens? I can link you to a GIF of what I'm talking about if you're interested in seeing what I'm talking about.
Best guide I have seen. I soloed the game with a long sword but have restarted using the charge blade. I have the basics down and this was exactly what I needed to learn. I never understood the guard point system but this video has me up to speed. Thanks. Now off to look at your CB videos
I've put hundreds of hours into charge blade across multiple monster hunter games and this just blew my mind, there are so many movement options for this weapon, i love it. Thank you!
@@SH3RMSY Learning it is actually much easier than unlearning the weak slash to side hop in favor of the stationary side hop, I've already started using this in my hunts and it's incredible how much it opens up my movement
Love the guide man. While I probably won't be using it much because I already suck at the moves we got, I appreciate showing them against a variety of monsters. And what an improvement regarding production quality in such a short timespan.
Awesome guide man! YES I WAS FEATURED! 🤣 Looking forward to more of these amazing guides, you put so much effort in & you deserve to become recognised! See you soon for some more hunts man! 🎉😊
Just clocked 1300hrs on mhwib and been using the charge blade a lot recently, so glad I found your channel because I've learned sooo much about this weapon recently because of you. The chain hopping will increase my charge blade gameplay by tenfold! Also the Nier music is on point
Might try an evade window build with this technique that focuses on an overcharged sword, power prolonger, and i-hopping attacks instead of GPing. Might not be meta, but it'll probably be fun Update: this technique is super hard to use, but I have tried it out several times. I switched it over to a SavAxe build since Sword Charge super hard to maintain, and it works pretty effectively. My GP instincts still get the best of me, but it's a fun and new way to play
250 hours with charge blade on ps4 and another 60+ hours and counting on pc and I still find new moves to learn. Amazing discovery! A tip for little dummies like me: The Multi Hop move only works if you have enough stamina, obviously. I tried to learn this move for 15 Minutes until I realised that If you guard, you don't recharge stamina. And trying to pull this move off without stamina is not possible. First I thought my timing wasn't right, but after discovering my idiocy, its really easy to do.
Glad you found the channel and enjoying the content! Cheers for the support and I’d be interested in how you’re getting to grips with it which you can share in the discord ;-)
Because its not that necessary as some players think... thats not realy a speedrunner secret i know that "move" since world and never use it because "guard point", iceborne have offensiv guard so there is 1 more reason that you dont want to use it there is not realy a point to use that in a speedrun and i never see a speedrun that need that move i only click on the vidio because i dont know what he means with "multi hop" and than i realize: oh yeah... that thing well bye
Ok. First The Legend of Dragoon music in the last video and now FF7? 2 of my all-time favorites right there. Almost like i have no choice but to subscribe!
That was one heck of a Nier reference..! Trigger to dodge music for a triggers to dodge tutorial..! 10/10 What valuable information too! *Thanks in multihops*
2100hours into the game, discover you can quickly double hop .. i used to hop into slide, wich sometimes led me to go to far from the point i aimed, that's gonna be usefull, for sure, just gotta remind the trick lol, thanks man !
There's one thing with the charge blade that i've never seen anyone mention, during the slinding slashes (←left, right→) you can turn your character denpending on where you move L. You can turn about 90° degrees so 4 slides 360°, try it on the pole slide >shield trust>slide.
I think a good video would be how to add slinger burst with the CB. I'm new to the CB and I love that I found ya videos to help me get better with this weapon.
Thank you for your suggestion which I really value and of course for your support! Hope my vids help and would be great to have you join our discord and meet the community: discord.gg/jgANvE3
Thanks. Appreciate your tips. CBs power. I do not care about speedrunning what I am looking is to play this game. While whacking those humongous monsters. That only cares about bullying me.
this is really good, thx a lot man, you got my sub for this, i really didnt know you can do that, i allways wish you can do that, but never knew that you can.....thx again
PC is hands down the best way to play this game!! It’s about to catch up with console updates so you couldn’t have chosen a better time to get back into it. If I had a good PC, I would instantly get it even tho I had to completely reset my character. Good luck and let me know if you did 👌
I've seen this Video when you've uploaded it and here i am watching it again because i still don't get the Hang of it. Ain't a Speedrunner but since CB is my fav Weapon i want to improve and become faster too. Still need to kill Fatalis though. :) Thanks for sharing your Skills and inspiring other Hunters. You're awesome!
Thank you! Yup, there’s loads of CB mains who don’t know this exists, but I’ve had a few GL mains who were surprised like you since this skill comes natural to you guys 😉
Amazing! Your videos look great even inside caves and dark places. I find mine have a dark background hard to see anything.. even though I see perfectly while playing
Kind of late but this is most likely due to use of LUTs. LUTs allow you to add brightness/darkness, mess with colors, etc. Keyframing and LUTs are key to video edits.
Charge Blade is nasty and tbh every weapon is strong, it's just how well do you know the weapon and how well do you know the monster ;-) Give it a shot but be patient with it! Thx a lot!
At 14:13 why did you expend all your phials with savage axe even though your shield isnt flashing? Is the difference between the efficient hop and non-efficient hop simply the faster time between hops? Only difference between them is that you dont hold aim with slinger for the more efficient one. Edit: What's the difference between hopping 2 times and normal rolling 1 time? Both cover roughly the same distance. At 12:57, 13:06 and 14:07, would it possibly have been faster to normal dodge to the head? I suppose hopping does give you more control over the precise distance you would want to hop to over rolling.
That was a clip of me playing Unga Bunga, once a blue moon I like this hybrid playstyle. The difference is that the efficient version has a correct timing que to excute where the other doesn't. The difference between hopping and rolling is that, you pretty much know where you're going to face if you hop or multi hop but rolling requires more control of where you're rolling and turning your character to aim your next hit. If you've ever had an experience where you roll towards the monsters head and turned to try to Axe hit it, but you've missed? In some scenarios hopping and direct axe hit to face is more efficient and accurate.
Are all of these methods using LT plus direction? You can do the same thing without using LT by watching for the same visual cue after dropping your guard and dodging in a direction. I havnt tested if its as efficient though, and havnt seen if anyone has already mentioned it yet in comments
I'm actually a SA main but since we basically shares the same hop mechanics and I've seen a lot SA speedrunnera do that, I have a question! Why one really want to multi-hops? As iirc hop has less i-frames than normal roll right? Why dont just roll after the first hop? Thank you so much!
I used to use this mechanic when I used to stream and did it numerous times in a middle of any hunt, but I don’t jus hop once, but sometimes multi hops to dodge AOE attacks or position myself with the weapon facing a certain way which rolling doesn’t offer. But I guess more for dodging and positioning. It pairs really well with jump extender and honestly I jus love pressing the buttons now and then like any satisfaction of completing any combos.
Mahendra Sentana The trouble I have with PC is that a lot of ppl use custom keys plus my guess about 50/50 uses controller anyways... But this guide was inspired because new ppl coming from PC ☺️
It’s kinda the same reason why you don’t guard point everything in the game and why rolling exists. You will experience knock backs in the game and with these type of attacks, you certainly want to avoid guard pointing because this is what drains the sharpness of your weapon the quickest. It’s best to watch and understand my other guides on CB before you really get your teeth into this, is my recommendation. I used to stream a lot and consistently used ihops as if it was as common as guard pointing for the average CB players, and the utilisation I have of it recently is actually far superior to when I released this video.
Positioning in general just takes practice/experience, but for multi hopping purposes, you know you can only hop sideways so... If the monster trips for example and you happen to be at its side/belly, you can multi hop towards it's head and when you get there your character should naturally be facing the monster's weakspot/head. You have given me an idea for a potential vid tho, but watch some of my speedruns to get an idea of general CB positioning and being able to anticipate the monsters move will be a big part of it as well as knowing the animations of the CB movesets. Good luck and hope this was helpful!
SH3RMSY oh please do it, I main CB but I’m not sure if I’m doing it correctly. I know all the moves and how to play it properly but I’m having troubles doing my storyline hunts.
Very sweet guide now delete it lol sharing this hidden secret of evading not bad easy to learn works with all hops I main IG but play with every class I would have to say it works well with SA stationary is very helpful with the hardest class in the game I treat it like a station guard point that's the best way for me to evade since it's scary to do multiplayer spamming with bad frame attacks . Charge blade is a great addition oh my how much great openings you get to pull if guard pointing isnt the best option sometimes which turns into savage axe.... good stuff subscribed to the channel
@@SH3RMSY whoa whoa I never said I was good haha I cant do all that choreography like you guys do lol if anything I'll stick with my Insect glaive but no really great stuff because I enjoyed the charge blade and you sir taught me something new
Oh pls keep practicing with the CB and my intention with my current and future guides is to encourage more people to take up the weapon and feel at ease 😉
