I'm an old school gamer and a family man. My favourite genres are FPS, JRPGs, RPGs, Strategy, Action & Shooters, and honestly quite a variety. I was a sponsored Halo 3 Esports player and some of my favourite games ever are:
Final Fantasy VII (My #1) Halo 2, 3 & 5 (Competitive in Europe) Witcher 3 (Nightmare Difficulty) NieR:Automata (Hard Mode) Warcraft 3 (Hard Mode) Dark Souls 3 (100% Achievements) Cuphead (100% S+P Ranks) Monster Hunter World: Iceborne (World Record Speedrunner) Furi (Top 80 in World Speedrunner) Pokerstars (Won several real money tournaments)
Content you can expect are Guides & Tutorials, Speedruns, Boss Battles and Montages. My niche will be from a Top 1% gamer's point of view (Any game I play with a tracker site), playing my favourite genre of games with a chilled, tryhard attitude.
super late to the party, but now I'm mad at myself cuz my first few hunts I was doing guard points accidentally with the triangle sword combo then getting smacked around when I wasn't button mashing that combo and wondering why lol
Okay, coming back to this video after 5 Days since Monday, and here's my experience at 5* currently. 1. Ironside Charm, Barroth Helmet, Radobaan Waist, Lv. 3 Guard kills knockback from most monsters at my current game state (btw ty for the explanations on each required/mandatory skill). It lets me recover faster to either gain better position or just start dealing damage sooner. 2. Still learning how to effectively do the guardpoint mid-swing. My goal for now is to be able to do this vs Diablos on command instead of tryna predict and getting stuffed. So far, getting fairly proficient. 3. Between sliding and spinning slash, learning when to use these has been really difficult, but coming here basically every couple hours to refresh my brain has been a huge help. 4. 17:59 HOW DARE YOU EDIT OUT THAT SMASH THAT MOVE IS SO SATISFYING!!! 😂😂
Insect Glaive main turned Charge Blade enjoyer Im just gonna be real, this video overexplains too much. I'm just tryna learn how to do this, but half of this video is mostly introductory. I'm semi-new, so all the build info is kinda pointless to me currently (but I will be coming back to this video at a later point)
@@KokuRou I really appreciate your feedback and feedback like yours is how I can improve. I was kinda anticipating a bit of your feedback from first time users of the CB since I’ll be honest this was kinda designed for someone with a little bit more experience, since there’s so many guides out there where 99% just teaches them the combos to go away and learn, and my guides takes ppl to the next level to actually be competent and potentially the best version of themselves with the CB. Thanks for your input and look forward to seeing you back, and hopefully you can comment again if your 2nd time back was the right move and if it was still helpful.
Mouse and Keyboard button legend: B/Circle = Right click Y/Triangle = Left click Right trigger = control Left trigger = C For savage axe you go: leftclick+rightclick (AED prep) > C (savage axe)
Dude this video is amazing! The amount of information and ease of quick access is amazing. Shows a lot of effort on your side! Ur tips for practicing are also very good and actually motivated me to go in that training room to smack that barrel and practice.
Absolutley it is!! Once you've learnt Alatreon, for me it feels like one of the easiest endgame matchups with CB. CB is viable with EVERY monster. I recommend watching some speedrunners fighting it and btw, I love your pfp (Nameless King was my fav)!
I mean you can do that, but it’s best to know when the optimal openings are and be patient until they present yourself, since with these short pokes, you might position yourself wrong and miss out on the good openings. However short punish is more commonly used in multiplayer for sure since you don’t always have the aggro. Hope this helps and thanks for the support 👊
Ahhh, im playing thru rise for the first time and im also learning CB and its actually crazy how dirty CB got done in MHR. Savage axe got done sooo dirty and why is SAED/AED so much slower in MHR, its actually so sad to see bc the game feels REALLY bad with CB, but if it was like MHW cb there would be way less issues.
This is THE guide for Chargeblade. If you’re anything like me then you’re scouring YT for charge blade guides. Well I’m here to tell you, this one is it
Best guide I have seen. I soloed the game with a long sword but have restarted using the charge blade. I have the basics down and this was exactly what I needed to learn. I never understood the guard point system but this video has me up to speed. Thanks. Now off to look at your CB videos
It’s the Safi armour set. If you wear the full set you unlock bonuses like huge elemental dps but the downside is that each hit you do you loses health but consecutive hits gets you to regenerate your health.
@@AkrabSouls take your time and watch my CB guides and work on each aspect one by one and make sure you feel comfortable before moving to the next lesson. Plenty have actually learnt from my vids with no knowledge of CB to eventually doing CB speedruns themselves too, so you got this 👊
This is not criticism of you but of me... I hate these videos bc i love charge blade and every time i watch one of your vids i am reminded that i am a terrible hunter thats barely getting by. Thank you for these vids btw
@@TitusAndromadon You’ll get there buddy and we all were exactly where you’re at. The intention of the gameplay is to show you what you’re capable of doing/becoming so use this fuel to work on the different areas of development you need. Try and watch the guard point vid and nail down each type in real battle before you focus on the next. You got this 👊
if it helps you, i feel like i only mastered cb after around 1,000 hunts (it's my 1st time trying monster hunter). even so, i still find things to improve along the way till 1,500 hunts. even now i still occasionally rewatch this vid and the guard point one. still lots of stuff i can improve regarding positioning and guard point. one other thing that is very crucial is understanding the monster's movesets since cb has lots of attack with high commitment that you can't simply/quickly cancel with a roll
I join MH franchise this summer, i chose the charger blade cause it has everything (sword, shield , axe). This guide is so freakin amazing, i finish the base game without dying. But dang, the monster at iceborne is so imba, still need to learn alot. Thanks man
Completely new to mh franchise. I didnt know anything about the game and picked sns as my first weapon. A couple months ago i picked up charge blade to try something harder to learn and get a different feel for the game and monsters. This video is amazing. Thank you. Gonna start practicing tonight. Liked and subbed even if I'm this late to the party.
A ayer ago i recomend this guide to a random perdón in other video and that person thank me back a few months ago so i thank you again, i revisited your videos a lot, wish to see you in wilds
Would you recommend switching directional control type to 2 to execute AED's and other directional inputs easier? I personally like the feel of it but at the cost of stuff like hops and sliding slash moving weird I'm not 100% sure on using it completely
Try it and see what’s more comfy for you. I believe control settings are unique to every individual, what works for someone doesn’t mean it’ll work for someone else.
Isnt it enough having guard 3 ? Since GP gives +2 and shield charge +2 Only thing that would make sense is using guard up to block the ultra attacks of elders and strongest monsters
It completely depends on the monsters you fight. Back in MHW yes guard 3 is more then enough but in Iceborne, there’s a lot more harder hitting attacks that would need guard 5. If you check out my builds in my discord developed for each main monster, you’ll see which monsters I recommend Guard 3 or 5. It’s designed for end game tho.
@SH3RMSY you're the goat man, still answering ppl's questions. You play any MHW recently? I came back after a hiatus and in some ways playing CB again is like riding a bike and in other ways it's like learning how to walk again lmao
@@CamelxXxYogurt thanks man, and unfortunately no I haven’t played MHW in a while… I’m waiting for Wilds and been playing games like Octopath recently lol. I’m actually a sucker for JRPGs hehe. Hope you’re keeping well buddy
Should I guard point a charge attack or evade ? I blocked multiple hit but sharpness gone quick too But if I jump out of it's way I could save some sharpness n might b able to hit it while it's still running. M not sure which is more effective
Keeping up your sharpness is extremely important, so you need to balance when to guard point (GP) and when to evade. Ideally you want to GP when you have a great opportunity to counter or it’s necessary to save you from getting hit. Evading is probably the next step after learning the fundamentals of guard pointing and you can only get good at this if you’re able to anticipate the monster moves which is gained by experience/practice.
The guard point timing is super hard. If you guard a fraction too early, you get fully knocked back far. Only if your timing is right, which in my testing seems to be almost "late" (i.e. press R2 a fraction after the barrel explosion starts), then your knock back is small. And if you are too early pressing the R2 then you don't guard at all, you end up making an axe smash attack. The timing is hard even in training area.. imagine out in the wild with a furious Rajang jumping around. Can we guard against Gold Rathian charges? So annoying when he charges back and forth trampling over you over and over. 😑
I promise you, I was thinking exactly the same and shared the same if not worst frustrations when I first learned but this should be similar to everyone who first picked up the weapon. You’d be surprised, but it will start to be muscle memory as you get better and better and better over time. Eventually, you’ll get to a point where you see improvements practically daily/each session. Be patient, try and get a little bit down back to back in the training area and don’t spend too much time there but practice with an easy and predictable monster move set. You got this my guy, we all went through this pain 👊
I never used GP using CB, 2 days ago I am trying combos and blocking this way and it is very difficult, I always dodge and block normally, I feel like I never really use the weapon, now trying these combos I am being crushed by monsters.
Sorry for the late reply, but yeah there’s a few ppl who has commented and said that it does. I mean there’s obvious differences, but you should know that if you’ve played Rise. Let me know if it does or not for you?
I am rather early in a new character hr12 and have a building understandment of CB now so I'd like to start having the earliest forms of the decos, would you happen to have an idea of how early I could get a Focus or more importantly Offensive Guard?
