Unless I'm missing something or the jokes going over my head clutch claw can't be used on rajang right? Pretty sure they said it can't be.

Rajang has a move which rips you off his arm, holds you in front of him with both his hands, and screams at your face before throwing you to the ground - this is what the others are talking about. He doesn't do this when you're clutching his rump, and any time he's already busy doing something like being tripped/toppled and even this same move.

Except there's the fact that if he triggered any of these knockdowns slightly closer to a wall he would have had to start the lockdown combo over again. I like Rajang in world, but the "punishing you for doing a lot of damage close to a wall" thing is kinda fuckin dumb imo

I might be late but for your question yes I does matter, you're going to lose some damage for that. But the reason why he do that is to timing when rajang's head is in attack range and when it get up the true charge will hit and got it knocked down (since you can only knocked down monster when they already up)

Prey is using all 4 hits of the combo (first, second, TCS first, and power hit) The total of the 4 hits would likely be less if running frostcraft (not enough time to regen frostcraft) Plus, safi armor gives extra affinity and toggles resentment so easier to hit attack cap.

Are you using punishing draw as well? If yes, then either barioth art/velkhana essence, you can pick one, and then 2 sharp V + attack V and VI, or maybe sharp V and VI + 2 attack V for longer purple since no MT.

Preydator I mean do you REALLY need MT in a greatsword? Purple isn’t that strong and 2 sharpness 5 awakens would give you a metric ton of white for a GS.

@@SS2LP While it's not as big as the damage increase from blue to white (12%). 7% (7.5% for ele) is still a pretty significant increase. Ignoring all other multipliers: attack V x2, essence, sharp V + VI outdamages the white sharpness number of all variations of the build sans essence + all attack. (atk Vx3, atk VI) 316 raw * 1.32 = 417 (atk Vx2) 293 raw * 1.39 = 407 (atk V, atk VI) 298 raw * 1.32 = 393 This doesn't count ele damage which purple sharpness helps add a bit but notably a lot unless you build around it. So I think Preydator idea is the best unless he can fit handicraft gems in his build and just go full damage with white sharpness.

RichterVonFuchs As far as I’m aware it only beats it by 1% more damage, hence why I said I’m unsure if it being better. To clarify I’m actually a CB main I just fable in GS and my buddy is an actual GS main. Just found by information I’ve heard, I tend to value comfort over doing tiny percentages more damage wise.

@@SS2LP I mean it's 3% more damage if we look at the calc above but it's also true at that point it is nit picky damage. Regardless of the 3 you choose above you're gonna be hitting above 1k damage. The main point of my post is that purple can be a pretty substantial increase in damage. Humorously enough due to how element cap works (+150 or 1.6* whichever is higher) it might be a funny idea to go 100% elemental and you'll actually do insane damage to certain monsters. It might be the first time in monhun history where ele damage makes up a substantial part of your damage.
