nergi first because I didn't upload a run in the 3rd beta. SKILLS: Attack+5, Weakness+3, Artillery+3, Critcal Eye+1, Critical Boost+1, Guard+1, Maximum Might+1, Agitator+1 / rainyy_ / rainy_moody
People don't realize how good this dude is because he makes it look so easy. Please make a CB tactics guide, your distancing and range control is damn near flawless.
Seriously, people complain about needing a PhD for CB, but really once you learn all the moves and are proficient, it's so much about timing and positioning (e.g., he held that Charged Double Slash a second or so longer after it was fully charged, at which point nergi turned his head directly into it). This man is superhuman.
@@adarshkamoda9183 I said it's not hard to learn the moves to it, but once you pick that up, the difference between an entry level CB user and a superhuman is the amazing timing and positioning on display in this video.
@@adarshkamoda9183 lol no, of course not, that's why I'm a mediocre Charge Blade user. I've managed AT Nergigante and Vaal, but I scraped by by the skin of my teeth because timing and predicting monster's moves sure isn't my forte
hardly they all have their roles. also charge blade only beats out others in dps when its perfect combo's and conditions. heck hammer can easily out dps in right conditions as well if you abuse its sliding attacks in a room like this.
MrShadowRaiden the only difference about CB is that when you have your sword charge. it doesnt bounce like any other weapon. even if your on red sharpness. CB can still pierce small dmg and charge up their vials for super amps
but that is bad dps if your doing this. im currently running a few different sets depending on what i want to do and sure charge blade when perfect is downright monster dps but so is Hammer if you can abuse the slide attack(for Nergi you can due to his rooms having slopes), Bow also has some insane dps heck somebody posted a bow taking down a tempered black diablos in less then 2 mins and didnt even abuse dragon piercer he just did the standard spam attacks.
All of these really fast runs have the same thing in common. They are all weapons that can keep a monster staggered or downed almost the entirety of the fight. I think they need to put an internal cooldown on staggers so the monster can stay more mobile over the course of the fight.
New to the game, played for about a week or two now. Reached High Rank a few days ago, been doing a TON of side-quests and Investigations to farm different things for funsies, but now I finally got to the Nergigante Main Quest. Man... I don't stand a chance! I've gone up twice against him now, carted 3 times both tries, while almost depleting all 10 of my Mega Potions. I don't even think I've been close to making him limp yet. I just had to go to RU-vid to find some inspiration here before my third attempt xD Sidenote: I also switched to the Charge Blade two days ago because it looks like the most badass weapon in the game, and I guess I'm still sort of learning to be really good with it. But still, I don't stand a chance at all against him xD He like two-shots me every time so after every hit I have to try and get distance to drink two Mega potions, or to get my STUPID CAT to stop messing around and drop me a Vigor Wasp already xD ... Well, Nergigante, here I come!
I was in the same boat as OP, but with Gunlance instead of CB, and I ragequit and took a 6 year break. Back now to see if I can finally beat him once and for all. @@randyewing4566
Nergigante may as well *be* great jagras. He's every bit as predictable. The only thing you can't really avoid (in multiplayer) is the boop since you never know who he's going to go after.
James Gafa the cb wasn’t upgraded, it’s not even augmented once. Also, he’s lacking good decorations and has to relie on his armour mainly. If you hit your supers, the cb is broken, that’s it.
Takes a bit of learning, management and skill to do this, and a lot of grinding. So a nerf probably wont happen, the goddamn weapon has a high skill bracket, if you’re good its good.
The charge blade is no more difficult to use than any of the other weapons. If anything, it's a bit easier. The guard points are so forgiving that you can consistently hit them without even knowing how, the damage output is through the roof even without augmentation, and your block is just as strong as the lance's. The only thing that really makes people think it has a high skill cap is the amount of setup required, but even that is a non-issue once you consider that charging your sword isn't even mandatory. A lot of speed runners completely forgo charging their swords in favor of spamming SAEDs until the target dies. You're pretty much golden as long as your shield is charged. ... And given that it'll stay charged for three minutes if you've got your near-mandatory point of capacity boost, well, you aren't having to recharge it in most fights.
The fact that saed itself is so strong isn't that big of a problem for the overall weapon balancing, but for the chargeblade itself. Basically the whole strategy around chargeblade revolves around charging up and spamming saeds over and over, you could remove the enterity of axe more except for aed, saed and the guardpoint and it would have 0 impact on its playstyle. This is just a personal opinion but I think that compared to previous iterations, this one is more stale despite having more fluid mechanics
Charge blade videos are always a joy to watch. However, this is the first one I've watched where I actually feel bad for the monster. And its a fucking Nergigante, no less...
@@ming85c the word 変態, originated from the Chinese word 變態 share the same meaning. It has a lot of usage, it doesn't always mean pervert, in this case, it is more of a compliment (admiration of his/her skill) than an insult.
The Uragaan arms for Guard +1 caught me off guard (pun intended) considering I have an Ironwall deco...i'm guessing you have Charger decos slotted in? I didn't realise until I re-watched the video a third time that you were using the Charged Double Slash + Roundslash (especially at 1:10) and CDS + Shield Thrust strategically
Danmarie Inting would it count if the damage animation would be to high to Show and instantly making my ps 4 break? Because I am afraid that will happen one Day. ..
See, I look at all those possible moves to chain off each other not knowing which ones I should be using intimidates me. So much choice and I just now made it to Iceborne from starting out with the insect glaive->longsword->gunlance->HBG->switch axe. I think by the end of the year I will be passable enough to attempt the CB again. I tried using it as my first weapon and just could not get the hang of it. New to the franchise as of 2018 on PC, BTW.
actually i believe this. its not impossible. look at his equipment, he grind most of his time on this first before taking on this quest. his Armor his weapon are WAY too advance for a Rank8 Nirgegante. Some of us grind first. Some of us just take it on with what we have currently. I took it down with a Giros Nadja 1and a mix armor. DAMN IT WAS A STRUGGLE
That's because he blocked Nergigante's attack beforehand with the shield (R2). By doing this and if the blocked attack is not very strong, it allows that by pressing triangle + O a shortcut can be made in the combo. This can also be used to launch Elemental discharge.
Affinity doesnt matter on charge blade. Impact phials bursts dont get affected by affinity they will always deal 100% your damage. N they dont get affected by sharpness either. Ur burst wont bounce even if u have yellow sharpness or below.
Even with minus affinity it will on average deal the most damage out of all of them. Plus, impact phials always deal 100% of the damage, the affinity doesn't affect them. It's the most efficient charge blade. Personally, I still prefer Nerg CB for casual play. It has better sharpness so I don't have to worry about sharpening all the time or using handicraft.
Affinity only give critical strike per hit. It doesnt affect Amp dmg as it always deal 100% dmg. Amp dmg depends on how many Vials you pile up. Every CB has a max of 5 vials. + certain skill on armor make it up to 6 vials. and it is OP
Could you explain why do you choose Diablo weapon? Does it give highest damage for any monsters? Nergigante weak to Thunder element, but it seem you not care about that at all.
simple = the diablos tyrannis has the highest raw damage in the game, and phial explosion damage is entirely dependent on your raw damage. so he chooses to go for the diablos sword for more phial damage. also, thunder swords would mean having to use power elemental phials which are inferior to impact phials, and there is only one impact thunder sword and that's the chrome guardian 2 which doesn't have enough damage to outdo diablos's sword.
Dylan Woodward it’s just the chance it goes into -crit which is 20 % less dmg, so baseline is diablos weapon has a 30 percent chance to do 20 percent less dmg but it rly don’t matter that much since the raw dmg is so high
why do people care about nerfing weapons in this game? i like them all, i think all weapons are OP as fuck in the right hands. game IS balanced, its just skill base of players "oh this weapon is trash, but THIS one is AMAZING" - its called affinity(not crit from game but ACTUAL affinity) for the weapon you chose, it suits your playstyle therefor you can make it OP.
Honestly dude, use the weapon type you're most comfortable with if you're just trying to beat him for the first time. Also maybe make a point of running it solo or with people you know can stay alive. My main problem beating him my first time after getting my armor up was having people respond to my SOS and then die multiple times lol 3 times in a row this happened, so then I said fuck everyone and soloed it with Jester Magdaros Palico lol
MrLeLocke Well, its our replacement for disposable earplugs and since we need to optimize our sets to do the most damage, speedrunners can't afford to sacrifice certain skills for the Earplugs skill (even in their slots since better skills for damage can be slotted).
