Hello. Please make a comparison between wahoo tickr fit vs polar verity sense. This is what is missing from your channel. Why do you think Wahoo and Polar don't add SpO2 to their products? For many it is important.
Thanks so much madhuri matta, really appreciate the compliment! It takes a lot of time to make each of these videos, so positive feedback like this always means a lot!
I own a Mi band 6 and this was an unexpected video, i always had this "bad" image of the watch since i watched your last test on it. The improvement is quit impressive, especially for the price, i wonder if sleep tracking improved similarly. Thank you for your efforts.
@@TheQuantifiedScientist my uncle has some heart problems and it was recommended to buy a watch to track his heart rate, ECG, everything related to heart problems. what would you recommend? either watch, either band, but something that would export measurements. he is not having an iPhone, so Apple watch might not be good.
This is one if not THE...largest selling fitness band in the world...let's all hope the Mi Band 7 is another step in the right direction as far as accuracy and functionality.
@@overPowerPenguin It's only a matter of time. We see this all the time with smartphones - "Cheap phones are getting good. And good phones are getting cheap" The same will happen with fitness bands.
@@mboiko No, it's different. You can't have a bigger screen, touch, battery and a better sensor the same time at the same price. If price will go up then yes. Even with phones there's a cut here and there to save some money.
@@overPowerPenguin This video clearly shows that with no more than a firmware update accuracy of a low-cost fitness band can be improved significantly. The vast majority of people just need something that has an accurate step count, heart rate, sleep timer, and a week or more of battery life. The Mi Band 6 does all this now for a very low cost. For those needing more...there are many higher-cost options. This is why the Mi Band line of fitness bands has been a global success story. I have no doubt the Mi Band 7 will have a slight increase in price...but will no doubt be a fraction of the price of many much higher-cost options. Only time will tell.
I am stunned!! didn't expect to have a video of this high caliber on youtube!!!...... Thank you for your effort, your video helped me a lot in deciding whether to buy the mi band 6 or not.
It would be nice if you could conduct tests to see how accurate these types of heart rate trackers are, relative to skin color. It would be great to see which fitness monitors perform best on wearers with darker skin and or tattoos on their wrists.
I use the mi band 6 every day but I don't rely on it during excersize. It has trouble measuring high heartrates, where my Magene H64 cheststrap measures around ~180 bpm my mi band measures ~110-120 bpm. For other use I really like it because of the small design. Furthermore, it does nearly always think I'm sleeping early when in reality I'm watching RU-vid till 1am.
Mine has definetly the contrary bias: sometimes I'm just starting, and around 5 minutes of fast waking it registers 170 bpm, when in reality would be something around 130. This continues for around 2-3 min. At first I thought it had something to do with the band being too loose on the arm, but even now it still happens around 25% of times.
Rumors for Mi Band 7 are circulating. I guess and hope all the issues will be solved in the new generation. Huawei figured out how to measure heart rate accurately. Xiaomi can do it as well. I also hope they improve SpO2 values.
Without a scientist like this who would even know the accuracy ? That's what they are banking on. Nobody knows if it was accurate in the first place. Thus sales are unaffected
I found this video while investigating why my Mi Band 6 is recording absurdly high HR while walking, when compared to oxymeter it was nearly half the value. I was concerned about my health, but right now this device just stopped being reliable for me
For me it never was. Once I was standing still after a short walk and Mi Band 6 displayed BPM 186. I have counted it myself and it was around 100. And this happens almost all the time..
Hey, Rob! Which fitness tracker would you recommend more to me if I were to buy one? The Mi Band 6 or the Huawei Band 6? Both seem very compelling to me, consequently making me unable to decide. I want one for mostly casual usage and walking. Keep up the magnificent work!
Thank God I did not buy this mi band 6. I was supposed to buy this , since it is not accurate in every way, I changed my mind because of your video. Such a waste of hard earned money.
Well done, I have been waiting for your updated review as I could realize mi band's heart rate discrepancy right when it was first released. I immediately switched to using my old Honor band 5 which was mor consistent especially while performing my LIIT workouts
Hello from Malaysia! Thanks for your great professional quality reviews. Your time and effor t in doing the reviews are very much appreciated. Looking forward with keen interest to your retest of the other health features of Mi Band 6 following the firmware upgrade. What is the version of the firmware that you are using for the Mi Band 6 retest? Keep up the great work! Liked and Subscribed.
I purchased Mi band 6 for my wife recently just for steps tracking and sleep wake-up tracking. I somehow had feeling that it might improve. Thanks for updated review Rob. That helps. Pls provide update on sleep tracking too if possible. RU-vidrs shud take u as inspiration on how the reviews shud be made.
Another great video! While you typically review wearables, I’d love to see you do a video on FitTrack’s Dara Smart Scale! I’m curious just as to how accurate their 17 proclaimed metrics are and think that this type of thing would be right up your alley given your expertise in this field. Cheers!
I originally had some no-name health band which had worked quite well (once I understood its variations in what it reported) until it 'bricked' itself.. and I ended-up grabbing an Mi 6 last week. Having only used the Mi 6 for a week, it seems Ok... but I'm not sure about the heart rate when sleeping, which seems very low for me. When awake, I was testing it out against an Omron IA2 Blood Pressure Monitor (which, while 10+ years old, calibrates Ok against more modern devices). The resting/after walking heart rates compare Ok... but I still have this doubt about the sleeping heart rates. I wonder if the variations can arise from perspiration (removing the band and cleaning your arm and the sensor between 'trials') and therefore, from diet, where vitamins and other factors can change the ... (can't recall the words) ... owing to changes in the skin/surface texture/(more lost words) ...? (Traditional) lie detectors can go a bit awry owing to these conditions so maybe the same issues affect the sensors in the bands? Thanks a heap for posting, though -- very helpful and informative.
The band has the very same issues, as the earlier ones. I'm using it only for indoor cycling and 80-90% from the trainings it measures very well, but in the other 10-20% it measures only half of the real heart rate.
Hi Rob, I'm really glad RU-vid algorithm brought me here. I've watched many of your videos, and I'm really impressed. Do you have plan to publish research papers about these costumer grade devices? like comparing it for example. I need a lot of references to use these devices to measure sleep time. Thank you! Great video as always.
Your hand got hair in the position where you keep sensor? Usually every band and smartwatch I've got measure lower BPM if there's hair in between. That's why I shave a little my wrist. Consider also these Chinese devices are designed and tested by them so also should be a difference between their results and others.
I just want a smart watch or band that can accurately monitor: Heart Rate, Stress Level, Steps, Calories Burned, Cardio, Treadmill, Biking and Free Weights. Also, that it can last a few days on a charge and is water resistant/proof. Would like to be able to read text messages and see any incoming calls notifications. I don't care to answer or text back a notification in live time would be nice. I don't care for Google Assistant, Alexa, GPS or NFS. Would this band be good for that? The Mi 7 Band is getting bad reviews but it is new so it can possibly be fix with updated firmware.
I tend to believe that there are variations in the production quality of any band. I have bought a cheaper Huawei Watch Fit recently and compared it with my friend's bought 1 year ago and compared their heart rate accuracy just to find big differences. Could you do the same multi band test with other bands like Huawei band 6 (Honor band 6)? Also expecting first tests from you for OPPO band, oppo band 2, oppo band free. Keep up the good work.
review water sport watches like venu sq for swimming.... apple watch cant do that... venu sq seems best watch expect apple but they not good in water sports
is there a failure mechanism behind it? most of the time when i find it not working properly, i just take it off and clean my waist a little, then it will work better.
Between the Mi band 6 and the Redmi Smart Band Pro which one would you say is more relaible? I would wait for the Band 7 but even if it releases mid year I know I will not found it in my country till end of the year lol, so I have to choose between these two 😊 (Huawei is not an option for me because of the features limitation not using them with a phone of the same brand)
I've just commented the old video xD. i was interested on the update video about it. i wanted to see if the software have been updated, and if the spo2 is some what believable. Not for medical reasons, only tracking over time. (i was thinking about upgrading to a mi band 6 from the 5, to better track sleep without changing my habits with my watch)
Hi! I just find out your channel and I found it super informative and interesting! Let's just say I want it to track my yoga and swimming sessions and the sleep... but I also want a budget band, so would you recommend this one or the Amazfit 5? Because after your review I was leaning more towards the Amazfit, but this update confused me a bit haha.
Hi Rob! I am watching your videos since 1 year now and I can tell that i really like the way you are reviewing smart bands. I would like to see how is performing Amazfit band 7. Waiting for that review! All the best Rob!
Hi Tristan! Thanks for commenting and for following my channel for such a long time! Good idea! Lets see if I can get in touch with them and review a new band when they release it😊
Great video! I upgraded to the MiBand 6 from the 5 a few months ago. However, the PAI score is not adding one day to the next in order to have a 7 day running total, as it always has. I've rebooted, done a factory reset, etc. all to no avail. Unfortunately, the rest of the features on this watch are of no use to me without PAI. Do you have a comparable alternative?
When are you going to take the band swimming? I would love to see a review on that activity. I noticed that the screen turns on when I'm taking a shower. Even with the lock screen feature activated. That's not good, given that I bought the band primarily to track my swims. I got my band this week.
I have found the same thing at rest the HR is good but during spin training sessions it can be terrible. It tends to work good one day and horrible the next (inconsistent). Walking HR seems generally good and step tracking is also reliable. Overall a waste of space for serious training. On the upside it is waterproof so that is a bonus.
I bough my Mi Band 6, two weeks ago, since that they I was looking for a review after my purchase... I saw the last video you did about it, but I remain curious about the firmware, so today I'm seeing this video with the same firmware and now I aware about it! Thank you very much!
I'm thinking about getting the me band 6 to be there at 7 looks like it justney's a little bit more work because of the continuous features it has it breaks down the battery 5 much faster
Mine has NFC and a microphone for AI but all that can't be used in Europe 😞 Bought it together with Mi Scale 2 so Mi Fit app is very comfortable to use since it has all data in 1 place. Only noticed a few times when the readings were wrong. Sometimes it doesn't detect a short wake up in the middle of the night.
