Not sure what all those letters are but the lyrics are as follows: ירושלים הרים סביב לה והשם סביב לעמו מעתה ועד עולם. (ירושלים הרים סביב לה ירושלים הבנויה) Yerushalayim Harim saviv lah v'hashem saviv l'amoy m'atah v'ad oilam (yerushalayim harim saviv lah yerushalayim habenuyah) Just as jerusalem is surrounded by mountains so too g-d surrounds his nation (yerushalayim mountains surround it, yerushalayim may it be built (quickly in our days))

As a Hebrew speaker, you did a great job for a non Hebrew speaker.

I think Hebrew is the written language and Yiddish is the spoken? I could be wrong though.

@@flowerchild2496 Nah, Yiddish is a different language from Hebrew spoken by Ashkenazi Jews based on a dialect of German with Hebrew influence, and written with the Hebrew alphabet. They are singing in Hebrew, but their Hebrew accent is influenced by Yiddish and just general Ashkenazi/Euro/American influence so some sounds are different than the modern Israeli pronunciation.

hebrew is beautiful but the accents of the miami choir group are not when speaking hebrew, they speak very americanized sounding hebrew

@@Mikey-pj6ki obviously, but I don't know the language but I do want to sing along. So I make my own lyrics..

@@Mikey-pj6ki They just meant that they sing what they hear since they don't speak Hebrew. So when people do this, inevitably the words are not correct. If you listen to anyone who doesnt speak your mother tongue to sing a song init, most of the time and if they didn't have phonetic training, you can't really understand what they're saying. That's what they meant by "making up words". right @tijmenbruin ? :)

The words are accurate. They are using the pronunciation that they grew up with used by their community for prayer as opposed to current Israeli Hebrew pronunciation.

I agree, and I love that a Jewish song is so popular with non-Jewish people, but the lyrics are a bit of a problem. Specifically writing YHWH instead of Hashem makes someone reading almost say G-d's name with is something a practicing Jew isn't supposed to do.
