The extra things that come with this game components (Zombie Tower, Player Stat boards, bat mechanic, Zombie walking and event cards) make me much more interested in this game than in the western themed Flick'em Up game. Also, the lighting in this video was SO good. I understand it is awful hot, but WOW you folks look so good on screen! See you all in a month!
He is never, when it comes to games in a genre, which he would dislike. Regarding games for Miami Dice these are normally miniatures/dice-games like Decent or Conan. But probably, he dislikes dexterity games, too?

There's a lot of really cool elements in this, really inspired stuff (particularly the weapon types like sniper and shotgun, as well as the zombie movement tower)... it just doesn't quite feel elegant all together. Feels like some other arrangement of these elements could be much more accessible and less clunky.
I'm so excited to try this and I'm not even a big flicking guy! Love Dead of Winter, love that theme. That kinda seals the deal for me. Love survival horror in general. Great review guys!
Me too. The different perspectives from each really brings out the pros and cons for games. Big example for me is the Spirit Island review. Zee loves Co-op games but didn't care for it. (Too fiddly) Tom loved it. Sam liked but though it was too 'heavy' for him. For me I love Spirit Island Likely my favorite game of the year. I can see Zee's points but not enough to keep me from coming back. The Flick em' up games seem fun, yet I don't have the space for this type of dexterity game. Maybe later down the road.
I love Pretzel games. Junk Art, their second game, went straight into my personal best dexterity game made. Flick em up is also super-good... but it doesn't hit the table as often as it should... So this version is going to be my first miss for me from Pretzel games. Would make no sense to buy it and barely play it like the original.
I don't get the difference between applying stickers and glueing together miniature that come on sprues, yet Sam loves one and hates the other. Personally they both stink.
I more or less agree. I would even expand to painting miniatures, which is even worse then putting stickers on them. Because putting stickers on might be tedious to a degree, but pretty much everybody can do that with a decent result, it requires about the same amount of "skill" as punching cardboard. Painting miniatures on the other hand is not just a boring waste of spare time for me, which could have been much better spend playing games. The result can just look as bad or even worse then the gray blobs, which came out of the box. There are games, which even need some painting to make gray blobs distinguishable from each other, otherwise the game is unplayable. So big thumbs down for any game with components like that from me. I'd take sticker dudes over them any day.
So Flick Em Up got Dead of Winter to add the zombie theme so they wouldn’t have to pay The Walking Dead to make a Walking Dead game? Cuz the aesthetic just screams Walking Dead to me
Peak Your Interest That sounds awesome! I'm not a fan of most legacy games because the core games they're based on don't score high in my group (Risk is a no, Pandemic is better but still not that great in our opinions). We LOVE DOW though.
Though, perhaps, without permanent changes allowing for a hard reset. What I mean by that is to have a game journal along with not tearing up cards/permanently changing the game board (dry erase instead of permanent) allowing infinite repeats of the full playthrough.

Maybe the legacy aspects would be more relationship driven (you didn’t vote my way last time, and look at the mess we’re in!) with a map of the city and you choose where the colony hideout is, migrating to different holdouts for better access to the important buildings
