Miami Rowing Club is in white. The angle does not do it justice. At the 500m mark Miami was down a length to TBC and 4 seats down on SoNo and even with the rest of the field for the most part. In a sensational set of moves starting at the 1000m mark MRC began to walk away from the field and narrow the margin between them and TBC. At the 1500m mark Miami was down a few seats to both SoNo and TBC. In a test of will power Miami was able to out sprint TBC by the 1250m mark. For the last 250m it was SoNo and Miami bow ball to bow ball. In a pulsating finish it was SoNo who scraped the win by a deck. Even in a defeat it was a small victory for the crew from Miami who were all Lightweights and all rising seniors or younger except for the coxswain. Congratulations.
On a personal note. Thank you to all those who made the Summer of 2012 one that will not be forgotten. Your unfailing efforts and desire to succeed and throw the system is what gave us that opportunity. You all deserve to be proud and happy for what you accomplished this summer. I probably should have told you guys that sooner, but I guess I was just to sad to admit it was over. It was an honor and privilege which I believe none of us will ever forget and a story we will tell for years to come.
