Having lived near Miami and worked security in one of Miami’s most famous clubs, the contrast from the poor neighborhoods and the skyline of multi million dollar condos near distance is sad and striking. I’ve seen a lot of crazy, crazy shit in the DT/Overtown streets.
Yeah it is so weird. I was browswing Zillow for Miami and on one street you'll have the most expensive mansions then a few streets after you'll have the poorest neighbourhoods
I now reside on the gulf coast of mississippi and every state in the south that I've been to is like that as well one street is ratchet af and the street over is well to do all white communities. The south is very odd being from Baltimore my whole life where it's quite obvious the government purposely puts the poor and drug addicted or criminals in one area in major cities in the U.S.
I live in Belfast / Ireland and often when watching these clips i try to notice as many people as i can wondering in a nice way who they are and about their life etc , and i love seeing people /neighnours chatting outside the houses in a community family spirit way
@@terrelljackson6476 no place in the US is that bad. If so the US military will put that city and hood on lock. Let's be real wish yall stop acting like certain cities are like the middle east. Yall don't know shit bout the trenches
every time you or someone you know want to move to a new place and buy a house. the first thing to do is come to this channel and make sure the area is not feacture here.
Wow. Been to Miami a few times for holidays and had no idea that so close to where we stayed had these neighbourhoods. Amazing how beyond the high rises and hotels and beaches this exists literally just down the road
I used to be a homeless drug addict. I bought my drugs in overtown. I was there on and off between 2015-January 10,2020 I got sober. I used to go late night, I used to go 24/7. Nothing would stop me, unless I went to jail. The things I’ve seen during that time I’ll never forget. I put myself in some horrible situations. When you’re running those streets 24/7 your bound to witness some horrible shit. An I did, it became normal. I know damn near everyone in OT, but I’m so happy I escaped that life.
I like how all of the skyscrapers are so visible due to how low most of the residential houses and buildings are (due to all the hurricanes they get). It makes the downtown area pop out way more than NY/NJ area.
@@eyeluvverbutterdogsheds4941 glad to hear that bro. Sometimes you need to hear someone else’s perspective to see certain things like that. In Jersey City, NJ, we have so many 3 story plus houses and buildings you can’t even see one block past from where you are standing lol. Very old architecture which is great to see but we have no views unless you are on the roof or actually in the downtown area lol. For example, downtown Jersey City is on the other side of the holland tunnel from Manhattan and NYC’s skyline looks way better from our side than being in NYC because you can see everything.
It's not because of the hurricanes it's just a super new city compared to the northeast, people sprawled out more instead of being forced to build up where you're from. I grew up down here and there are plenty of 3+ story buildings all over the suburbs and cities. Either way, you're right about it being nice to see the skyline so clearly. You can see sites like this in Phoenix, Vegas, and lots of other relatively flat, more recently developed cities
In Miami Away from nice condos and clubs vibes downtown..when you go pass the bridge on the other side of highway deep into Miami hood you see a whole different world
Here in Miami, lived here 12 of past 14 years after moving from Michigan actually.....other commenters are right....hit up Opa-Locka, and Perine down by Homestead (where the Kimbo Slice / Dada 5000 backyard fights happened). Very similar to the pork n beans projects of Liberty City / Overtown.
When I remember that the room i found on Booking for rent was in Overtown, so glad I payed 30$ extra per night and stayed in Miami beach with the real vacation vibe and all security you need during a holiday. Moral of the story, money does save you from unsolicited risks.
Overtown still has a lot of those 70s looking projects. Some other neighborhoods ( hoods) have torn most of those down and replaced them with new and improved more modern looking projects.
Remember what overtown looked like before i95 destroyed the community. It mad many shotgun southern style houses instead of those 70s style apartments. Those white ppl got rid of all those old style shotgun houses and replaced them with those ugly looking concrete monsters
CharlieBo313 wen yu gone splurge out here n opa locka areas that's where it really get down at my G useto be tha worst on tha map back than but it still lil poppin🤞🏿🦅🎯
I also ventured into OT AT ALL TIMES of day to by my crack big $5 rocks.iam from jersey City.sober now but always lived on Miami beach.25ys ago.i remember when The AA Arena caught fire.comming home from work I made and spent a lot of money I was also there when Hurricane Andrew hit.lower fla...shit that place still looks spooky..I am 62 and just retired.home safe and warm...THANK GOD.
I left Miami no for the gangs, just for my sister, she beat me like a men for no reason, I been in the hospital, no charges, I'm friendly with everybody, I take care my little sister, she have cerebral palsy, I don't want come back to Miami, I miss my good friends on miami.
Just saw your comment. They both dangerous. OT is definitely more active on the streets, and poverty is more visible, but I would say the people in Liberty city probably more dangerous.
@@ScorpioBornIn69 true true, I meant like the overall look of a neighborhood… to me, Overtown looks the worst. As far as crime, definitely top 3 in Florida next to Liberty City.
Stayed in over town for a couple of yrs rite along with da beanz n I can truly say it got somewhat better in a way cause when I was growing up 2007 being 13-14 it was really different till the point I questioned my sanity at times (like am I seeing what I think I'm seeing rite na?) 😂 now I can laugh about it. People are coming together little bit by little bit everyday ..it's still highly dangerous but depending on the situation what's happening n why
Looks like a paradise compared to Philly or Detroit. Plus the warmer weather. I wish Charlie would visit some middle class or well functioning black neighbourhoods or communities more - like black ranching communities who do traditional cattle drives and whatnot.
@@WickEmOuT Okay bro not trying to start anything. But I gotta point out that there are places that attitude won’t fly - like in Russia, or China… you’d know what real power is when on the receiving end of those states I can tell you. We’re all just very smaaaaal insignificant creatures here. So make some peace.
Grew up in overtown, late 80’s to 90’s. And now this place looks like a cake walk. Girls would be in the corner sd for crack for 2 dollars. Projects was a hell whole. So glad to be far far away.
1) Where do all the "working girls" hang out at? 2) Are there any YT channels showing the "Track Scene" in Miami? I know other YT channels that show that type of stuff on Fig (Los Angeles), Aurora (Seattle), and Bissonnet (Houston)
Most likely send them back to their countries. U think the US is gonna keep allowing ppl from Cuba and Haiti? The country as a whole is cracking down on that shit.
Mannn... I was just watching a Miko Worldwide video of him walking around in Overtown and at the 10:44 mark is the exact spot Miko filmed in. Crazy! But before the gentrification and all, this place was hands down the most dangerous place in Miami.
Not necessarily after the 90s Liberty City was the most dangerous neighborhood in the city of Miami, Little Haiti, Overtown and Opa Locka was sometimes close 2nd but Liberty City had the most murders because of turf wars and the gangs. Mostly Overtown stick together unlike the City It’s was 5 or 6 projects in a small area and non of them got along The Beans vs Lincoln Field, The village vs Scott’s PSU and the Rookies and Sugar Hill and everyone went mainly to one school Miami Northwestern
Overtown dangerous but Miami is Miami there no different dangerous place when it comes to Miami but all honesty da city would be more dangerous bcus it's more bigger then overtown n overtown had wars with certain parts of the city n won them but da city is bigger n alot of stuff go on in n out da city the FBI said Florida city n opalocka the most dangerous place in America but to real miamians we know them places dangerous but da city got it places like overtown n Carol city really stick together n dont believe in killing they homeboys like that even tho it go down but da city they been on killing they homeboys n everythang moving alot of Miami drug kingpins famous hoods n legends come from da city but like I said even tho Miami is Miami n everywhere in Miami is dangerous
@@carolcitypopepope3179 hell yeah Even the pork n beans started beefing with each other shit got crazy after the resession the city always start tripping after money starts drying up my home boy dola man was a problem on 13th and that shit kick right back up after he got killed. Everybody use to call Lincoln Fields pussy back in the days now they the new hot spot in the city
Them purple street lights are almost too bright, wow. THey look cool though.Id hate to have it shining on my window at night on the side of some of those buildings lol.. have to foil my window. Wait but how do they expect people to get off drugs when its looking that cool at night. lol. Time to open that bedroom window at night and let the night air in, let in the purple light and get hi with a friend..
To make things more clearer. 20 street is what divides the hood and bad. 2 Avenue. 21 street is the beginning of wynwood and it’s so nice with tourist and locals with great vibes. Go down 20 street again and go to 19 street. Big fucking difference
See this really brought some mixed emotions. I lived in Miami Over town from 2013-2020!! I learned so much mostly about myself. Every city has flaws, but to experience what I did in Over town made me a changed person. I grew as a person. I gained some forever relationships. Pure, honest and true. There were some that taught me a valuable lesson, about judging someone before you get to know them. Over town is so rich in history and the residents are truly loyal to their.community. Don't believe everything you see or hear someone say! And now Gentrification is having it's way with Over town. Destroying the HISTORY.
I remember as a boy driving down US 1 Coconut Grove and they had all these awful looking white shacks right on the highway. Across the street were those old ups looking housing projects. All that is gone now.
Home of piccolo the founding fathers who brought the Miami term "stick" n rollin to hiphop and made putting yo dead love one on a t shirt famous when the vid first came on that script never slept

There’s a lot of hoods over looked in the city of Miami! Ex: Sw coconut grove , wynwood , Allapattah , East little Havana and west Flagler (kinloch park) these are sum really sketchy and active hoods. Miami ain’t all pretty like they make it seem smh
Miami got the worst hoods in Florida I been through the hole Florida if you don’t know how to move u ain’t going to survive the toughest don’t last the smart ones do.
I’m originally from Miami and apparently these kinds of videos seem to be a trend these days. People keep riding through these dangerous neighborhoods gone get exactly what they’re looking for one day!
