I lived in South Florida when they were filming the show and the Company that I worked for rented office space from what used to be Washington Storage on 10th St and Washington Ave. One of the women who worked for me talked me into signing up at Miami Talent, who hired the extras for Miami Vice. I was able to do a few episodes. They were really long days, and I had to take time off from work since most of the filming was done during the week. They filmed one of the scenes at Miami Airport where Don Johnson exits out the sliding doors. My sister and I happened to be behind him and he did make some small talk with us for a few seconds in between shooting. I was such a huge fan, I thought I was going to faint. They are fond memories that I look back on.

@@BarefootVlogger I recorded those episodes on my VCR, but unfortunately, those tapes among some other things were damaged when the hot water heater in my condo burst and flooded everything. It was so long ago, I don't remember what season or episodes. I honestly haven't watched the show in many years. It would be nice to watch the entire series again. Hopefully, it is streaming on one of the networks, maybe Netflix, Hulu, Peacock. If I track those episodes down, I will let you know.

I was born and raised on Miami Beach and brings back many memories. Ironically, my Uncle was also Philip Michael's driver for the series. Great stories. Next time you go, you must visit Espanola Way which a lot was filmed there. I was born in 1953 and graduated Beach High in 1971. Mickey Rourke and Roy Firestone were in my class and Andy Garcia was 2 years back. First lived at 15th Street and Washington Avenue and then moved to 80th Street. Glad you enjoy my hometown and the incredible Miami Vice!!

As a 23-year old man, I watched Miami Vice on Bly-Ray due to the show's influences on the game GTA: Vice City. I really appreciate you detailing the changes Miami faced due to Miami Vice's influence, and it was nice seeing another fan have so much knowledge on this influential T.V. show. So thanks for this interesting retrospective. As for people knowing the show, I was a bit disheartened to see that most of the people you met weren't aware of Sonny Crockett nor the show. I promise you, as a Gen Z guy, I will spread the existence of this show to my Gen Z friends. In fact, a few hours ago I already showed a friend of mine the episodes "Definitely Miami" and "Little Miss Dangerous" as his starter episodes. So there's progress.

Awesome video mate! - Miami Vice was the absolute sh** when i was a teen in the 80's in the U.K. All the guys at our school started wearing white linen shirts and jackets, espadrille shoes - even though we had rainy cold british weather haha! I finally flew over to Florida last year and did all the Miami Vice sights - did a Florida road trip and topped it off by getting married in Key West! Thank you MV - If i ever win the lottery, i'm moving to Florida!❤

Hi Terry I am a huge fan of Miami Vice and grew up watching every episode and always wanting to visit Miami to see all of the cool locations. I am with my wife this week in Miami and I used your video for reference and help. Let me say I have watched a lot of RU-vid shows over the years and I do not think I have enjoyed any episode as much as I enjoyed this one. It is so well done and just like it was a crime DJ only received 30K an episode it is a crime that you only have 6.6K views on this episode, you made this episode and my visit to Miami from Vancouver Canada so much more enjoyable. Your wife is such a good sport, she is so not interested in Miami Vice (much like my wife) but loves you so much that she is humouring your passion. As I walk around South Beach this week I am thinking about Miami Vice and your episode. Thank you so much for putting out this content. Dennis

Miami Vice was definitely The Bomb 💥 back in the day. It changed television forever. When I was 17, my sister and I stayed at the Fontainebleau with my aunt, who was attending a bridge tournament there in the hotel. My entire trousseau were mainly clothes that I had made myself, on my sewing machine. This brings back some fabulous memories! Miami and Miami Beach are so beautiful 😍 I was hoping to find a nice Jewish husband 😆 but God had other plans for me.

Remember the show, the styles, etc, and you and your lady definitely did it justice. This video was very informative and funny! Well done. We were there in June(didn't know your channel), and it was 90+ degrees!! I walked an hour in almost 100 degree heat index looking for a blue mailbox! Completely drenched, but at that point it was a mission. Found the post office as you included in the vid. It was 65 inside the building. Many Homeless people and myself lingered in there forever. Actually, from what I read, Mickey Rourke was the first one being asked for the role. I truly believe he could pull it off as Sonny Crockett. That's why Don Johnson wanted to play in a film with Rourke. Rourke grew up in Miami & knows the area well. He's the only one who actually could play the role much better than DJ. And yes, I'm a fan of Rourke because of his acting talent.
@BarefootVlogger
@BarefootVlogger Год назад
He could for sure, but Johnson is way better looking no contest. I think today, the only person that could pull it off is Mcconaughey. Colin Farrell was terrible casting. But it's fun to have these debates!

@@BarefootVlogger I was a fan of DJ back in the 80s. But better looking??? I think Rourke was a better looking from the 80s, not Rouke of today. He was fit, had a long hair & had an attitude of a rebel. DJ wasn't a bad looking, but was upcoming actor compared to Rourke. McConaughey? Nope! He doesn't have the right look, in my opinion. Colin had a terrible time with Jamie Foxx who demanded too much. Bad movie. It doesn't have the right vibes. I'm a Miami Vice fan since the 80s. I was in my early teens when it first came out. I started wearing Sonny's outfit to school. Ha I can't believe no one heard of it. Wow! I'm shocked. Ha

@@BarefootVlogger You know what? The more I think about it, you might be right that DJ is a better looking. I think I was focusing on Rourke's acting skills. There is a pic of Rourke in tshirt & jacket from the 80s, for a moment, I thought he looked like Sonny Crockett. I wish I could post it here in my comment. Yes, I agree Rourke did great in Pope of Greenwich Village. Also, he was cool in Wild Orchid too. Yeah, it's sad that he got his face all beat up from boxing and getting a bad doctor who screwed up his face. Such a shame.

Got news for ya Terry, the Macy's in the Boynton Beach Mall *pretty much* still has a "Miami Vice" section in the men's suit area. Lots of whites and pastel colored suits. It's not year-round, but most of the year. I almost got a sky/powder blue suit jacket but they didn't have my size. INC has some other suit jacket patterns they try out sometimes that are kinda Miami Vice-ish but the patterns are usually too "loud" for my tastes. Which says a lot given that I like to wear the solid whites alone, lol.

I'm posting this from Japan, but 25 years ago I traveled to Miami to explore the filming locations for Vice. I couldn't even dress like you. Your wife is beautiful!

Ok I read all the comments and not even one noticed, that your partner looks similar to Lt.Castillo long lost wife from Golden triangle 2. And that's a damn big thing. Not even one noticed! Secondly, as some already mentioned MV was huge in Europe too. You are forgiven though as you are from America lmao. At the end I'd like to say video is very, very nice and dress fits you perfectly. Almost as good as D. Johnson. Liked and subscribed. 🖐

This was really good! Thanks! Crockett’s wardrobe was heavily influenced by Simon LeBon but of course you know that. Love Miami….but 4 cocktails at south beach set me back a whopping 160 usd…. 2 of those bowls you had and 2 large glasses. The mayo on the French fries is European. We all do that! ;) And hey…. MV was HUGE in Europe so your wife is most definitely (Miami) not excused. 😂

@@BarefootVlogger I know he worn white jacket & white pants with the pilot episode. But after that, he started to wear mixed colors, which looks better and balance. Too much white doesn't look right. That's why they didn't have Sonny wearing that too often. White pants, White shoes are the base color to go, and mix it up with color shirts and color jackets which makes it look so great. I remember winning Best Don Johnson Miami Vice look alike awards at dances back in the late 80s & 90s. I always worn baggy pants which makes the outfit look awesome. Anyway, good video you made there. I actually enjoyed it that the time flew fast that I didn't realized I watched over an hour. You did a great job of keeping the video entertaining. I just subscribed to your channel. Hope to find more Miami Vice theme videos from your channel.
