Miami vs Las Vegas Grand Prix! What's the Difference?

It’s going to fail because a lot of people want it to fail. When I think of the sacrifices the locals made for this race and the amount of small businesses that have been severely impacted it makes me angry. Historically, when major events disrupted the hospitality industry in Vegas, the organizers of those events made allowances for the local businesses. They would help each other out financially, but in this case F1 said they were going to pay for all of it, instead, they took $80 million of tax money. They’re not even providing financial support for the businesses impacted. This is not going to leave a good lasting impression with the locals. As a result there is a good chance we’re going to see a change because of it. Locals have the right to vote for who represents them and if they think whoever allowed this race did them dirty, they will vote them out. That being said, the race will go off fine. There might be some surprises but at the end of the day it’s gonna be like any other race. I just saw the hot lap the safety car drove and I couldn’t see any of the Vegas lights. There’s virtually nothing on there that makes it seem like it’s a race in Vegas. Granted it was a view from inside the cockpit. But one of the views we’re looking forward to seeing was what the strip looks like from inside the cockpit. They might as well have built a proper track for it. It would’ve provided more long term benefits for other racing series besides F1. Not to mention a heck of a lot less disruption to the local economy. They could’ve taken a small portion of the strip to loop into the track if they wanted to they didn’t need to use the whole strip.
