I remember when Joe first started past gas and was a lil awkward, now this man literally just put the whole team on his back and carried this podcast! Keep it juiced!!!🔥🔥🔥
You know what I love about Bob Hall? He gives me Jay Leno vibes. Like, the love for cars just oozes out of both of them. Maybe it's the journalist/comedian mindset they have, respectively, but the casual nature of how they talk about cars is always envokes a fresh feeling.
This was my personal favorite episode of a podcast that Donut has ever given us. You are all definitely finding the right groove and flow. Keep the banter between segments, keep the rotation of host constant and this will be a hard first guest to follow. Still putting out the best car content to date!
I love that this show is supposed to feature three specific hosts, but hardly features all three of these at the same time....and their faces are on the wall for extra irony. I love the see the revolving door of guest hosts....they have all been great.
Rotate hosts between Nolan, Joe, and James, have different Donut shop and production folks on every week, and invite a guest. I love this format and kinda don't want it to go back to normal. The prior format and Past Gas are almost the same thing. Bob was a fantastic guest too.
My favorite episode so far. Bob Hall is like an enthusiastic grandpa that tells stories to his grandkids about his former career in automotive industry
Can confirm Peter Robinson is a fanatic writer, He was the European editer/correspondent for Wheels magazine here in Australia. Bob's columns were fantastic. Peter doesn't write anymore nor does Bob
I miss the days when you could check the box for each individual option. Ended up with some unusual combos, but exactly what that individual wanted. And was willing to pay for.
what was the issues with ford? as a proud owner of a Mercury Capri, i can imagine that story is interesting, ford using mazda to make a competitor to the miata
i mean, they invite the guy who created one of the most iconic cars of all time and they have those 2 cohost? it's no wonder he wasn't all that impressed.
Maybe you get to it later in the podcast than where I'm at now, but Horner's PA was also Newey's PA. Apparently. If true, this would make Newey's discomfort with the situation that much more understandable.
I WANT A BOB HALL PODCAST AND I WON'T TAKE NO FOR AN ANSWER I also wnat to have a pint with Bob hall at *_his_* preferred pub, but will understand if that is a "no"
TRD Pro - 65,000 bucks Ram RHO - 69,999 bucks. Ranger Raptor - 55,470 bucks ...says it all i think...like why would you bother with the Toyota? so pricing...i recently bought a new truck...went with a Silverado 3.0 Duramax 1500...low cost per mile to run, great warranty, and Chevy 1/2 tons are best looking on market...so...i live in MN, so heated seats, remote start, and other cold weather features are great to have...but digital screens don't like the cold, and i want an actual truck to haul stuff and tow and do truck things, so i don't want a giant luxury vehicle. i want a bench seat, cloth, analog, simple, something i can maintain for years... so Custom trim level is equipment wise what i would look for...but you can't get heated seats, no cold weather stuff to keep the wife from yelling...so next trim up is either the RST or LT...essentially same electronics and so forth, the RST is just more "sporty" looking with body colored bumpers...but its a HUGE jump in stuff from Custom to RST or LT...bigger screen, Digital dash, dual climate, heated steering wheel, and on and on...just to much stuff i don't want, but the Custom don't have anything. The LT you can't get a front split bench...which when getting a trail boss is annoying cause you can either have a bench seat with no comforts, or more comfort than needed but no bench...so it was this compromise buying where no matter what i could only get some of what i needed, and likely more than what i wanted...so i was half forced to get more than i needed and pay that...and every manufacturer does this. Look at Toyota when it comes to the Tacoma...you click on these equipment packages and each one builds on the last..and how they add the options is so random that you have to go 7 or 8 deep into these option groups to get like all the functional basics that make a vehicle nice to own..but then you have to have all sorts of fluff that isn't needed and will shorten the lifespan of the vehicle. so dumb...like people need to seriously boycot Toyota until they change the ordering process for them. Dodge used to be best about this with smaller more focused packages, they might still be, but i haven't looked in 2 years or so. Kia Sorento we had was same deal...can't even get cloth seats...couldn't get hybrid powertrain unless you got top trim level...which is dumb cause Kia buyers prob have lower income...so can't afford top trims, yet prob want economy of the PHEV. the Manufacturers set this crap up on purpose to force buyers into spending more. Our salesman said the Kia PHEV would pay for itself though because the 30 mile electric range would let us commute all week for no gas...but like if you did math it would take 18 years to make that money back... anyway, you gonna talk vehicle pricing this is the real story...its not necessarily the buyers...
LETS GOOOOOOO!!! That Dodge R.H.O Truck I'm Gonna Look Up The Miles Per Gallon... It being an inline 6 Twin Turbo... I have a 2011 Ferd F-TeenThousand With A V6 Twin Turbski I Get 30mpg, I Have 420 Torque, I Say That Will Get The Same Miles Per Gallon... I Will Edit This When I Look It Up... Edit: There Was No Gas Milage For The Dodge R.H.O As Of May 1st.
It's funny...I thought it was interesting because I thought Bob sounded like there was an Australian sense of humour in the previous Donut appearance, then especially in this, right before he said "I went to live in n Australia"....but Mazda is a huge brand in Australia. Given they don't do fleet sales, and before they tried to go upmarket with the Mazda 3, it was the top selling car. The MX-5 community is insane.
Truck prices are starting to be where they should be, no one should drive them. Get a van with a 4-banger. Gas should be 15 bucks a gallon in the US to wake people up how trucks and SUVs are a scam.
It sucks that American companies have sold out. I sent a letter to the dealership I bought my Spark from saying, I'm not interested in anything GM sells, don't send me anymore letters.
1st ohhhhh yeahhhhh!!!! Hey do you guys think it would be in bad taste to review a jeep while wearing a macho man costume? Hahaha cybertruck recall 🤣 😆 😂 it's a knee slapper Anyway Hire Ryan Adams
