In this video I demonstrate how to remove and replace seals and gaskets + how to wash the transmission case at home! TIKTOK / omg.miata INSTAGRAM: / omgmiata #MAZDA | #MIATA | #OMGMIATA | #CAR | #HOWTO | #DIY
I ruined the input shaft gasket trying to get it in yesterday. I've got another one coming, but I believe I'll try and freeze this gasket to try and get it to go in this next time.
Important question-is it possible to replace the input shaft bearing visible around the first third of the video? mine is making some serious racket and I don’t want to replace the entire transmission yet
Great video but I am not a mechanic. I do own a 2014 Miata hardtop and I think the clutch is going out on me. Would appreciate some input. The clutch used to engage pretty far off the floor board but I noticed recently it engages just a couple inches off the floor brd. I am thinking it needs to be looked at now before too much longer. Thoughts and what I should know when searching for a mechanic to look at it? TIA
So let me get this right. Green thread lock comes in a red tube. Red thread lock comes in a blue tube. Blue thread lock comes in - I believe - also a red tube.
