Everyone needs to remember that, after the first wave of anniversary figures, Walmart didn't have the subsequent shipments in their system. You couldn't actually buy them without jumping through hoops, as Walmart had recently made it more difficult to try to check something out unless it showed up in said system. Took me 15-20 minutes to buy an Aquaman and Green Lantern when they first arrived at Wally (and only because I had a cashier who was genuinely trying to help me out), and I believe the same problem was had with the super foes. Hard for figures to sell out when the retailer doesn't want to let you buy them.

Big Lots Joker has purple hands and longer sleeves on his jacket, which makes the jacket look so much better! Great video!

Great question MIB! I think someone on the Facebook said my main reason, which is that many collectors already have their originals of these. Also I think the Heroes are just more popular than the villains. So out of ALL of this run, people spent their money on either the Heroes, Villains that are new, or the Variants. So the “collector money” ran out when they got down to these. That said, Reverse Flash is ABUNDANT where I live and I don’t get that. Please do a separate video on him as I’d love to hear what you have to say because I LOVE his figure. As far as these three go, That Joker is ICONIC and comes in first out of the three. Riddler design is just ok as the costume is not as popular as other versions of him these days. Penguin comes in last by default and is the least attractive outfit as the screen printed tie is … not appealing. If it had been as outstanding as the Joker, then he might be more popular. And Purple Hand Joker is far more popular not due to looks but scarcity alone. Demand due to low supply. I thankfully have one of each and like them both. As a kid I had all three of them naturally Thanks MIB!!

You made me feel so sorry for my Mego 50th Joker, Riddler & Penguin that I almost took them out of their boxes... almost. Instead i'm going to order an extra Joker, penguin & Riddler now. Even super villains needs a home. Cheers M.I.B.☕

Here in Oklahoma, the only one I've seen is Joker. I wish the other two would hit the shelf. I like to still go in the store and look on the shelf.

I always loved the Jokers outfit. The purple pinstriped pants and tailcoat with the orange vest and green shirt are so cool 😎

I only bought Joker from 50th. The others I was satisfied with the earlier updated carded releases of these characters. Penguin and Riddler were well done in previous versions.

They were produced in higher quantities that the other 50th anniversary figures I believe. Walmart never really got the first wave of these figures around here but they got tons of the wave with the super foes in it. Walmart didn’t order green arrow at all and people wanted it a lot. I think these are great figures but the market is saturated with them. Mego really needs to rerelease the earlier figures. You may also find that the wave 18 figures won’t sell that well either.

I picked up all three. We all had the villains as kids, especially with the Batman ‘66 TV show being so popular, so I thought these would sell fairly well. I didn’t expect them to sell as well as the heroes did, but I didn’t expect them to lag this far behind. I’ll chalk up the Big Lots Joker to basic collector mentality. The harder it is to get, the more we want it.

I ordered all of my 50th Anniversary editions from the ZLC! Collectibles website months prior to their release date and all had originally sold out. As it stands right now The penguin is sold out but the rest are still available. Can't recall whether or not they were sold out then restocked.

Hello M.I.B! I thought the Mego Figures, Penguin, Joker, and Riddler looked Marvelous! I truly Agreed with you, with all of those Villain Figures, not being as Popular and Sought-after, like the Mego Super- Heroes Figures. And I agreed those Villain Figures, should get the same love as the Super Heroes Figs. 🤩😃😃👍👍

Interesting video. For the past year and a half the Walmart by my house has only had the 3 same megos about a dozen reverse flashes , jokers and half a dozen captain kirk figures. I really love the new megos but the distribution is absolutely terrible. Yes you can order anything online but I like the thrill of the hunt ! Buying figures online isn't the same feeling for me.

Not sure why these figures are not selling out like the WGSH. I didn't own the Penguin or Riddler has a kid, so I was very happy to get them. I do have multiple Jokers that my local Walmart had hanging on the pegs. I could not find any of the Big Lot figures, very hard to find and looked at all the Big Lot stores in my area.

These might be selling slower because the originals did. Collectors have seen the originals sit around for 50 years and nice ones are not hard to find. If the old ones are easy to get it could be inadvertently causing Collectors to not prioritize these. Most of Us have a limited budget for toys and more offerings than ever before.

I'm guessing, but if you examine inventory numbers from a place like Movie Posters Etc, they normally get a case of 24 figures for each character. With the Wave 2 Super Villains, they appeared to double their order in expectation to the response they got from the first wave of 50th heroes selling out. Ultimately they ended up selling about the same amount as an original order of 24 each, so that seems to be leaving them with that surplus. My feeling is there is a set amount of consumers baked into this product line, so the goal (if I'm generic company ABC) is to buy enough to meet that demand, but not overshoot the mark. Now whether over ordering applies to other companies like Walmart, I'm not so sure. Walmart seems to be more about distribution issues than buying too many. If they took five minutes to see where the product sells out, versus where it sits, they would be well served to adjust distribution to those key regions. Feed the demand, rather than tossing it into a void where they take a loss for not delivering it to people who want them.

Picked up one set. Happy with that. Mego overproduced, and I think some markets over saturated. Big Lots and Ollie's may see these, too.

I think bc purple hand joker is a variant that's y he's popular. As for as the 3 I tell you wat I think. Back wen they 1st came out in the 70s every1 went out and got ONE just ONE. Ppl bought Multiple Batmans and Robin's but not Multiple bad guys. I am just assuming that's just carried over to now. Those 3 were mego peg warmers back in the day, especially in NYC. The fans will probably do the same now.

I wonder what Mego is coming up with next. I'd buy a boxed spiderman but not into the riddler or penguin. I'd buy Bane or peacemaker.

I have the carded versions and don't see the point of buying these versions just because they changed the packaging. I wish the Penguin came with an umbrella.

I will buy the Joker and the Penguin . Why didn’t they sell maybe because the new versions of the 8 inch Joker and the Penguin before the fiftieth anniversary figures maybe the new designs were just preferred .

Are they really selling as poorly as you say? Is there a website that has the sales status of all MEGO figures? I mean if they keep making new ones they must be selling reasonably well.

Joker Riddler and penguin in that order and maybe people are going for really hard to find ones and that could be a thing to people or budgeting their money and only picking the they're absolute favorite or some people might not have the room and maybe people are sick of the Joker being in all the Batman movie and in his own movie in video games and you're right maybe they're not the most popular villains to collect or it could be there so many different toy companies making these villains and people want different ones instead maybe Mego should focus on other villains they don't do very often in the Batman Universe like Bane Hugo Strange and Hush I really like the Joker The Riddler and penguin

There are many reasons why I wont buy these, they just kinda suck.been there done that we need NEW ideas.
