How to check in Audi, Volkswagen, Seat, Skoda cars if the #touch screen is working properly and if the proximity sensor recognizes your hand when you are reaching towards the infotainment display. #MIB2 units have special test mode available as part of the hidden developer menu. You can check if the touch surface mapping is correct and if the infrared hand detection bar is working correctly.
🛠 Press and hold MENU button for about 10 seconds and wait for the "testmode menue" to appear on the display. Release the MENU button and navigate to HMI Debug menu. Here you can find proximity sensor and touch surface tests.
ℹ️ Developer mode needs to be enabled in the MIB2 unit first, to enter the diagnostic tests.
