It's ALL about that beat starting at 3:07. This beat should be shown to young drum students that hate doing their double stroke rolls. THIS is why you do it!

The drums in this song are so crisp and understated - elegant in the scientific sense, they do PRECISELY what they need to do with no pointless overplaying. That ride cymbal in the last chorus is just *chef kiss* and you totally nailed it!

And as has been already stated, the cover certainly sticks out in the YT wold: flasy drum covers with a bunch of dudes trying to cover up lack of hand technique with monkey-ing through endless fills and incorporating flashy rope lighting...

Damn that was sick! I was anticipating a much more aggressive approach to this song and thats how i would have tried to cover it if i hadnt seen this first. It makes a lot more sense, just turn the mics up and work a lot less so you get it cleaner easier.

Hats are Meinl Byzance Dark series and China seems to be a Wuhan (?). Not sure about the crash and ride, but if I had to take a guess I would say Zildjian A or maybe Sabian HH/HHX...?
