All the dancers are as good as Michael Flarley that makes that troup so marvelous. Now i ll say what I think in French, my native language. Aucune troupe de danseurs ne pourra égaler, encore moins surpasser la perfection et l unité de cette troupe, on croirait voir un seul et unique danseur vu l homogénéité.
'THE IRISH JIG GUY?!!" One of my favorite episodes. I had that line pop into my head today and cracked a rib laughing. Which led me to RU-vid, and here we are.
@@rashmitamukherjee4946 I would like to team up with Mathew Vaughn and Marv Film Studios to bring "Lord Of The Dance" to the Big Screen as a Biopic set to Michael Flatley's life and the 1997 stage phenomenon in the film entitled "Lord Of The Dance : The Untold Story".
He's 2 special girls beside him. 1 blonde and 1 dark brunette and brunette is fabulous looking. I'm English but got Irish ancestry and I consider myself Irish as I love going back home
You can be in tje worst mode ever and this makes you smile. I bought the soundtrack and whats more amazing is how they fill in the melody. In the soundtrack their taps arent there. Makes it all the more amazing. Truly a one of a kind thing this performance is. I love the encores and when he dances across the stage like a monster.Lol
"ONE MORE TIME!" Michael screams. He has done so over four hundred times now. It has been 16 hours. Some of the dancers have died. The crowd cries for release, but Michael will not give it to them. He Is The Lord of the Dance, this is his kingdom, and no one leaves his kingdom.
@@ameliajijo Lord Of The Dance would be a fantastic Big Screen Biopic of Michael Flatley's life from humble beginnings being born to Irish parents growing up in Chicago to the glittering and successful life long career on the stage and the smash hit show of the 1990s and the part he played in bringing show to life starring Poldarks Aiden Turner as Michael Flatley, Mamma Mia actress Amanda Seyfried as Jean Butler, Downton Abbey actor Allen Leech as Damien O'Kane, Mary Queen of Scots Actress Saiorse Ronan as Bernadette Flynn, Harry Potter and Star Wars actor Domnhall Gleeson as Daire Nolan, Game Of Thrones actress Masie Williams as Helen Egan, Peaky Blinders actor Cillian Murphy as Desmond Bailey and Love Island's Maura Higgins as Gillian Norris in a cast of thousands with Director Steven Spielberg, Executive Producer Robert Zemnickis and composers Ronan Hardiman and John Williams creating the musical score for the film and film producers Michael Flatley, his wife Nimh O'Brien, Jean Butler, Bernadette Flynn, her husband Damien O'Kane, Daire Nolan, Gillian Norris, Kelly Hendry and Desmond Bailey involved in films production and choreography.
@@SonySMRTLim Imagine this show if a film based on Michael Flatley's life will be made. The premier show's Choreography, Costumes, Dance Routines and scenes at the Point Theatre in Dublin would have to be recreated for the Big Screen.
Michael Flatley went through pain over the years to entertain us. His now 64yrs and has body full of pain. My heart goes out to him. I done jazz ballet growing up and love dancing at discos etc now I lucky to rise from my chair. That’s why I feel for him. Never be another Lord of the dance.
I've heard about the guy being arrogant over and over through the years. Since I don't personally know the man, I couldn't tell whether that's true or not. But if it is...I must say, that arrogance did him worlds of good on stage. Because, apart from being a fantastic dancer - which undoubtedly he is, but so are many others - the thing to distinguish him more than anything, his allure, was exactly that : his imposing stage presence, head always up high, eyes shining with pride and the "I'm The King and The Lord" atitude. Everything else, even his technique and stamina, somebody else might come to reach one day. The new guy is pretty good, actually. Not Flately good, but good. However, I'm having a hard time imagining somebody will ever equal his atitude, and the way he knew how to sell it, lol. For me, he's a giant in his line of work, regardless of whhat he may be like in his real life. I always make sure to never enter in the kitchen of my favourite restaurant, you know.
@@CB394 That is exactly what I called it, "imposing stage presence". I have no knowledge of his "arrogance", nor lack of it, for that matter. He's not somebody I personally know, so I wouldn't dream of passing judgement on anyone, based on media rants. As for the article posted above in these comments, I went through it quickly, and I must say, the so called "arrogance" sounds to me more like finally an artist knew what he wants done, how to get it done, and what it's worth. So instead of letting himself milked dry by the big sharks, he decided to do it himself, for himself, his dancers and his public. Bet that stepped on more than a few toes, eh? Let's face it, a big league manager boasting about "buying him a 10000 $ pair of shoes" is...cringy, at best. I can't imagine it was a birthday present, but rather an investment. The guy knew well that those 10.000 $ shoes on THOSE feet, would come back to him as millions, later. Who is he kidding?
@Jordan Carreira Literally EVERYTHING. As the years went on it became less about his incredible dance talent and more about his bare chest, fake tan, headband and eye makeup…..oh and his “Irish” accent from Chicago…
I came here after watching the friends episode. I always watch it and tell myself I'm going to search this up and watch it, but always forget, so after watching it today I went on a frenzy looking for my laptop to make sure I searched this up.
Let's all pray for Matthew Perry's recovery. May God give him power in his time of weakness and pain and may he find his path to a happy healthy life. We love you Matt ❤️❤️❤️
I watched this for the first time in my 6th grade teachers classroom because she loved her some Flatley. Still astonishes me the talent this man and all his dancers have
As a former dancer in multiple disciplines, I can vouch that when the crowd amps up, it doesn't matter if your routine was 10 minutes or 4 hours. You may be tired and sore, but it all falls away as your own love for your craft mingles with the audience's ovation and the joy you brought them. Yes, this troop did a piece of the finale 3 extra times. And I guarantee you its a moment all of them carry with reverence and a smile to this day. Because when the show run is over, these are the moments you look back on and think "wow, can't believe I was part of something like that!"
Exactly what I thought. He seems exhausted as all the dancers must be, but when you see the crowd like that, all up with a big ovation, when you finally see where all this hard work have brought you and how people enjoy it so much, you can't just say "thanks, bye!", you have to do it again. Over and over. Live this perfect moment as much as you can.
My mum was at the live performance of this, she brought home the movie of the live show and I wish she took me with her. Will always be jealous she got to see this live🥲
Can everybody stop talking about some Chandler and just admire Micheal Flatley and all the other amazing dancers? I hoped to find some actual fans of this show in this comment section. The perfomance is amazing.
I'm an '02 child, and my parents had this performance on DVD. I was such a huge fan and always tried to dance along. I have kinda forgotten about it for the last maybe 7 years and re-discovered it about two months ago. I really can't tell you how that felt. Nostalgic and a little like home was one part. But I was soo blown away by the dancing and the ambiance that came with it. It's so magical and I'll love it forever
I used to watch this at home when I was young, when I was unhappy & scared & it always helped me get through difficult times. I then went to see it went it went on tour a few years ago & got to meet Bernie, who played the lead girlie (blonde hair) & tell her how much the show has helped me. She was a darling. I would give ANYTHING to see Michael dance in his final tour, I think it would be the most incredible thing in the world. I cried my eyes out watching this & my DVD is worn out! I fucking love this so much!!
My mother took me to see this around 13 years ago when I was somewhere around 14 years old. At the time, being a teenager, I never wanted to go to the shows my mom wanted to "drag" me to because I thought it was stupid. She would take me to concerts, musicals, plays, etc. Everytime, I would dread going but afterwards, I would come out absolutely amazed by what I just saw. This was one of those shows. After I saw this performance, I was speechless. It is still to this day the most powerful, beautiful, amazing show I have ever seen. Especially this finale part. The music alone was so powerful that it gets everyone out of their seats cheering for just one more dance. Now that I'm older, I am so grateful for my mom taking me to see all these amazing performances. I've been looking every year since then to see if Lord Of The Dance will be back in Chicago but I haven't seen anything. I think they only perform mostly in Europe now. I am so thankful that I got a chance to see this in person.
I was a teenager when this was at its peak and thought too that it must be dumb and heard all of the jokes. Watching it now I would have loved to see it in person, it’s amazing.
@@jkadoodle Oh my goodness, it was incredible! I remember I almost didn't go that day because again, I thought it would be stupid. Turns out I was the one who was stupid but hey, I was young lol. I still thank my mom to this day for taking me. It was just one of those things that you will never forget.
Oh my goodness! I just found out that they are coming back to America for their anniversary tour! I have never purchased tickets so fast in my life. My mom took me to see this years ago and now I'm taking her. I'm not sure where you guys live but if you're in one of the locations where they will be performing, I strongly recommend you go see it. I promise that you will not regret it!
I was so fortunate to see them perform twice in the US, once in Vegas during their most popular time. This brings back great memories. I wish I had kept it on vhs.

Xavier McNeill- YUSS! Me Too! This is So Uplifting! I may learn it online while at home during this time. Plenty of Riverdance shoes on Amazon!!! Fay🧚🏻♀️
I came here because I love Irish dancing and danced for 10 years and growing up Michael Flatley was one of the reasons I kept irish dancing. He is and will always be the best of his kind and these videos I still am in awe of him and all the dancers, he is simply the best, wow!!!!!! I have morton's neuromas partly because of dancing but knowing I did irish dancing makes me smile through my pain, and I happily watch this over and over again, love it!!!!!!!!!
No one can touch Flatley, he's one of the best dancers ever. And let's not forget his crew, for almost three hours they danced for this crowd and then did even more for them. You can tell from the looks on their faces that they loved every minute of it.
There's plenty of others just as skilled BUT what made him great / one of the best, was his stage presence....that on-stage charisma You really can't learn that
One of the best dancing shows I've ever seen in my life. I used to sit and watch this show over and over again. just amazing. And they all look so genuinely happy to be dancing in this show, I think because they ARE genuinely happy. How could you ever do a show like this and then go back to normal life? Would be incredibly difficult, I guarantee all of them think about this production from years ago every single day.
Its nice to see how many people envy Michael Flatley for his personal success. All this people should know that he was the person that creates Riverdance 1994 as intermediate show during the Eurovision Song Contest. Without him nobody of this talented tap dancers (worldchampions) would have work since over 20 years. It was Michael Flatley that bring Irish tap in the world, so modern and powerful to fill worldtours, city halls and stadiums. Lord of the Dance is his personal show that he creates after left Riverdance. After heart problems he comes 2011 back on stage because milliones of fans wants to see the only and unique "Lord" of Dance. On this show 1996 in Dublin was Michael Flatley around 40 years old. I would like to see the people that critism him if they can dance like him. Last details, he is still record holder with 35 steps per second ;-).
every time I watch Micheal Flatley my breath literally catches in my throat! an absolutely stunning performer! perhaps one of only 3 performers I've ever wanted to see live!! what perfection!
How anyone can give this a dislike is beyond me. I loved this when it came out and I still love it as much. Wish I could dance like that, but maybe that's because of my Irish blood, as my grandmother was Irish. Nan would have loved this. Bloody fantastic and never ceases to mesmerise me!
This guy & his dancers are amazing & ingredible!! I discovered him years ago and went to about 1/2 dozen of shows!! There has been others who do great! dancing but no one will be a LEGEND!! like him!! You were Great Michael!!! Hope your enjoying life!!
I grew up watching the DVD my mom bought. I fell in love with the music, the dance, the clothing, with everything. I rmbr wanting to see this live myself! & I still do😩
Lucky enough to see this live at Wembley Arena. The incredible noise and vibration just set the place alive, the encores went on and on, it was an amazing experience that I'll never forget.
Been to the show, years ago in the netherlands. Michael Flatley DID this part of the show. went with my mom and grandma, who both got cancer after this and lost my mom almost bcs of a heartatack. I LOVED this since i was a kind.. and im forever gratefull i was here with them ♥
My grandad filmed this it was the last time he ever filmed anything before he died a horrific death by being trampled by Irish dancers. I cry to thus everyday Blake.
I. AM NOT REALLY. INTO DANCES BUT I LOVE WATCHING ELVIS PRESLEY AND THE RIVER DANCE SERIES WITH MICHEAL FLATLEY I NEVER EVER GET TIRED OF THESE 2. GUYS THEYRE THE GREATEST LOVE THEM BOTH GOD BLESS THEM FOR. THEIR TALENT AND THE LOVE THEY GAVE US ALL
I'm pretty sure that Michael Flatley's Lord of the Dance and Feet of Flame performances were where I first became aware that I love Celtic dancing. This "Michael Flatley - Lord of the dance finale" was an excellent segment of Michael at his top. I was quite fascinated at his ability to do those high, strutting steps. They were amazing steps powered by a strong ego and incredible dancing ability. Thank you, David Roth, for posting this.
+quosmo1, thanks for commenting. Still, take pity on me. I'm from another generation that doesn't fully catch all of the abbreviations yet. What did "'david rAth' btw" mean?
Thank you, *****, for catching that mistake. I hope David Rath will accept my apology. I'm delighted that you took the time to let me know. Also, thank you for explaining what "btw" stands for. I honestly thought it was "back to work," which didn't make sense here. But then I remember for years telling my friends that I was the "dedicated driver" when we went out together. I finally learned the term was really "designated driver." But as a teetotaler, the first term was applicable even if wrong.
+John Aberle Don't forget, as well as a strong ego, above all, Flatley had immense passion for what he was doing. that was clearly evident on his face. He had that shit eating grin, from ear to ear. He was in a zone to where he belonged. Unfortunately not many of us, will never experience the intense joy of doing what we were meant.
videoclipits, good observation - I agree with you about Michael's passion. He definitely had passion and incredible skill or I wouldn't have watched him. He was a marvelous performer. Dorothy Aberle and I saw Lord of the Dance in Las Vegas over ten years ago. The male lead dancing Michael's role just didn't have the same confidence and charisma. So it was a really good show, just not awesome. We still enjoyed it despite the minor let down.
+videoclipits I remember this performance clearly and he just kept going and going at the end and the people just ate it all up. After seeing this, I wanted to take my mom to see Lord Of The Dance when the troupe came around, but then learned that Michael Flatley was no longer with the troupe. So sadly I never saw them live. BUT I did have a surprise for my mom when I got married as I hired an Irish Dance troupe for my wedding :). No it wasn't a professional troupe as I hired them from a local dance studio, but they did an excellent job and I got to see my live Riverdance show.
My moms last wish was to see him live before she died. they made it happen. It was a memory I’ll never forget. This was incredible xxxx rip mom I hope you’re happy x
