Him and Ronan created something really special. It blew my mind as a child and it still rocks me and puts me in a good mood. The amount of strain this put on his body over the years to move like this... I cant even fathom.
It sucks to get older...after watching him for so many years, I understand how this dancing has taken a toll on his body. God Bless him for giving us sooo many wonderful years in the spotlight! He's absolutely brilliant!!😊
Distorted spine, several ribs broken, knees worn out, cracked bone in one foot that won't heal. That's the price his body paid for his outstanding performance.
You cannot beat perfection. If it was not for Michael Flatley, none of the other Irish dance shows would exist today. Met him on several occasions, always a gent. His troupes are always fantastic, great bunch of people. The whole thing is magical. and that is an understatement.
Feather Fawn He truly is one of a kind. On top of dancing he was also a Golden globe boxer and he played the flute. Multi-talented man to say the least. Plus he can still dance like that with some serious injuries he has to deal with from dancing this long. Let's not forget his amazing choreography skills, since he does that and puts the show together. He was 57 here. He would of been dancing for 47 years at this point. That's a lot of work. The abuse on his entire body is unreal. I hope by the time I get there that I can still move like that. Ok, close you having that energy anyway. I will never dance like that. I don't have that energy now and I'm 25ish yrs behind him. I'm depressing myself now. I thought I was in shape, until I started thinking about it. Softball, volleyball, etc have nothing on dancing like this. That's an extreme sport not dancing. I'm trying to make myself feel better here. 😬😬😂😂☹️☹️😢
what do you mean do guest parts? he still performs?? id be surprised if he did. im so sad I missed him! he was my childhood. I use to dance around the house and i tried to dance like him and the other dancers when i was younger lol. im in the US, he didnt perform here as much.
I had the pleasure to watch Michael flatleys dancers in Berlin 2 years ago, they’re still AWESOME without him!! But he will always be the LORD of the dance
@@jlperz77 - His way of dealing with women, ask Jean Butler. His going around bad mouthing people and taking credit for things he had nothing to do with - Riverdance was already created before he joined the show and he's tried to take credit for the show ever since.
My Irish dance studio in NY called me when I was in college, across the country, in 1995 to ask if I wanted to audition for Lord of the Dance. I said no. 😐
As an Irish dancer that has been dancing for at least 5 years this is what I aspire to do. I have been working toward an Irish team and a chance to go to at least local competitions and I got to that this year. I am now on my local Irish team and I'm going to at least 1 competition this year. I can't wait to get as far as I Can. This is what inspired me when I was little to start dancing. Thank you Mr Flatley for helping me get this far. Irish dance helped me so much and it makes me feel free from my restraints hard shoes are My personal favorite no matter how hard they are to dance in they are the most amazing sounding shoes you will ever put on your feet if you know what you're doing.
Впервые увидела Майкла Флетли 20 лет назад.Это было фантастическое шоу. С тех пор восторг перед этим потрясающим артистом ничуть не уменьшился.БРАВО !!!
Whenever I have had the opportunity to witness any of Michael Flatley's performances, it sends chills up my spine. I have seen his performance when he visited Chicago and I was simply awestruck! I am certain the performers who trained under him were super excited and fortunate to have learned from, who in my opinion, one of the best at the craft and art of dance. 💗💗
Unbelievable! This man can certainly dance and he can certainly teach it as well. I've never seen another dance act so in time with each other. I was a massive fan of Lord of the Dance 20 years ago and I'm still a fan today. I love Michael Flatly, I actually prefer him to Diversity but I think that's an age/generation thing.
My grandma en mother loved him allready and they showed me a videotape from lord of the dance when i was just 6 years old. I fell in love right away! And a few years ago he came to Holland and i was at the show with my mom and grandma. We had the best time ever! We still love Michael and Always will but the new guy did a great job at that show we were at. Amazing! 👍🏻
Every time I watch river dance I burst into tears, one of the absolute greatest! I remember watching the 1996 video with my step dad and it’s amazed me ever since thank you Michael Flatley 🍀❤️
Because of Michael, Irish step dancing is now the King of all dancing! Dublin and Chicago should throw a parade for him when he retires! The last of the great showmen!
@@rabbrennan7135 I would like to team up with Mathew Vaughn and Marv Film Studios to bring "Lord Of The Dance" to life on the Big Screen as a Biopic set to Michael Flatley's life and the 1997 stage phenomenon.
In his late 50s and still brilliant but still humble enough to admit to being 'too long in the tooth' and to hand over to the young. Saw him in Cardiff some years ago, blew my mind, still watch LOTD regularly, timeless and beautiful. Many thanks Mr F
Yeah man the guy is a genuine dude that has had IT ALL and he's as real as it gets, he used to be quite up himself "apparently" but when you're young and ruling the world of dance and the ladies love you it'd be hard not to be a lil over the top lol but he grew and matured into the man he is and he's guiding young ladies and gentleman the right way in life. I watch LOTD 2011 DVD all the time, had it on once today while getting ready and just finished watching it again lol. love it.
I watch LOTD every now and again but last week watched it while cycling, have a bike set up on rollers in case of bad weather. From the first minute the hair went up on the back of my neck and a started going like a train for 40 minutes, came off sweating buckets and feeling like I was 27 again (actually 68!) How good is that? My new training partner I think, wondering how it will go on the heavy bag work
@@tiernanluke I had the chance to audition for Lord of the Dance in 1995, but I turned it down. Michael Flatley is certainly an extraordinary dancer, but he is not humble.
Bobbie Ellcey i am 20 when i was young i use to see him in celtic tiger in Manchester or so i think but i remember at the end of show he waved at everyone when the Curtain slowly close i ran ran up to give him a wave and a thumbed up and i caught his eye n he waved back and a thumbed at me i will never forget the day he done that :') hes a beautiful kind hearted man x
I'm a very, very big Fan from Michael Flatley. He was the best Irish Stapdancer all over the World. Thanks so much Michael for this wonderful time with you. We all missing you. You're always Wellcome here in Germany !! Your Fan Heike 👍👍👍👍.
Broader in the beam? Sure. But Flatley's still got his Celto-Boogie down. Best of all, the torch is being handed on to the next generation of dancers. He gave the world this wonderful art form, and we are all richer for it. Thank you, my friend.
There's too many words to list as compliments to these in comparably amazing dancers. Thanks to Mr Flatley, new generations learn & entertain audiences. So grateful this dancing style is kept alive to enjoy.
Opinions one way or the other, no one can nay say: *What he did for Irish Worldwide through his "Pure Positive Energies Vibrating of the Highest of Frequencies" aka *"He danced his Irish Arse' off and Raised Everyone's Spirits"* He danced us Proud and I'm so appreciating this. . 🎆🍀🎆
Man I still remember a long time ago watching tv. I had no idea what the movie was but now it seems like the start of lord of the dance. Simple movie a dad working hard and rowing across a pond to take his daughter to dance lessons. Irish music and tapping the beat of flow.
