In the beginning he testified and admitted his father was the colombo family underboss. He literally ratted his father. Then spitted other 100 peoples names.
This is 1992 , Sonny and Michael were both captains . Sonny was the underboss from early 60s to mid 60s when he got convicted. So he didn’t rat on his father .
@@sanket677 Yes he did. The government uses these hearings to verify positions within the families. This is the EXACT same thing that Joe Valachi did! Valachi didn’t send anyone to prison directly but his testimony was used in countless investigations. Everyone Michael is naming was definitely investigated, possibly fined or fired. He could have plead the 5th but he had already signed a cooperation deal to get out of prison (1989) and debriefed the FBI & US attorneys. Michael Franzese was a made man, not a civilian! Calling the cops anonymously is snitching. It doesn’t matter if someone is convicted or gets probation. Also, Joe Valachi never took the stand as a witness, Michael did. There’s no argument that he was an informant. No excuses. He told the authorities that his father had a hit out on him, told the feds about their rackets, positions. That’s 100% snitching!
@@MOBFAX I had read that Valachi did testify once, in a case against Persico sometime in the late 60’s for hijacking arrests from 1960. Resulted in Persico heading to prison for the first time. Did you read this?
This is proof he’s a rat. IDC. If your a criminal rat or a criminal that does your time makes no difference to me. But he denies it. I just don’t understand the people that like him, fight with people that like Sammy, fight with people that like Joey. Their all criminal’s. None should be looked up to or liked. I do have more respect for Merlino because he lived the life and took the consequences. Yet still their all crooks. That’s why this country is in the state it is. Instead of looking up to honest good men and Women people look up to these criminal individuals!
Go watch Tony Accardo's subcommittee hearing. He told them nothing and they got nothing. Stark contrast to this testimony. And to think that Franzese to this day says he's not a rat. Ooof Madon!
@Kenzie GameFowl Farm but he didnt incriminate anybody because those are all known facts. The only one he almost incriminate is Norby Walters, even Sammy know that.
@Kenzie GameFowl Farm but it was all common knowledge. It was out in the news who was who. It wasn’t like he was revealing it. He was just admitting his part
Sammy did a looooot more than that.... Gotta watch HBO'S GOTTI. Back in those days Sammy was on TV more than OJ... Testifying on all the families in New York. I think over a hundred trials he testified in. The very first of its kind at the time
@@BirdFromYakiVegas The difference is Sammy doesn't try to deny it or deflect, or shy away from what he did. I think in all he's responsible for around 30 convictions. I also think that in his defense, Gotti should take as much responsibility for what ultimately ended up happening. After all, Gotti is the one who solely brought all of the heat of the FBI onto the Gambino family at that time- even going back to the Castellano hit. Sammy is guilty by association and blindly following orders from a man that in all honesty, he should have got rid of a long time ago. If he was smart, he would have went to Paul with the news that Gotti was going to put a hit out on him and history might be different.
The guy had me fooled until I started watching MOBFAX vids. Michael would have been alright with everybody if he would have just admitted his cooperation actually hurt ppl in Cosa Nostra. For some reason he has a hard time admitting that
@@DontDefuse I'm not necessarily doubting you but wouldn't that have been the same indictment Larry Mazza was on? I haven't heard him say anything about Franzese having involvement in that. Incidentally they got everything they needed about the Colombos from Scarpa anyway, didn't they? Again though, not strictly doubting you. Just wondering.
@@elmerofairo Search up Investigations Officer v Cirino “Charles” Salerno, and William Cutolo. Pérsico and his dad were already in jail before he testified, Andrew Russo didn’t go to jail until a couple months ago, who else did he bring up?
This is gold, i mean, did all the fawning fanboys REALLY believe he didnt put lots of ppl under the bus? and that his social media endeavours aint just one big score?? churning out the same three stories over and over, "Fat Tony- Mamaluke" "John Gotti- Flea Market" and " Your Dad did nothing to help you in there"
Damn a lot of Mafia fanboys in the comments section still can't digest the fact that their favourite mobster definitely named some pretty big names 🤣🤣🤣. Like I get it guys. Its hard when you come to know that your heroes aren't what you thought they were.
So much for “I’m not a snitch!”. It doesn’t matter if no one went to prison from it. Within 4 minutes of starting to talk he had given at least 5 names. Including his own fathers. What kinda scum rats out their own fatber?
As crazy as Sammy The Bull looked in their face to face sit down, he was right about Michael Franzese. However, the only question here is, did Michael Franzese tell them information that they already knew? That makes a world of difference from a technical POV.
@@courtneybrubaker9738 It did. Brought out the Mobster in Micheal, Sammy did and that's all what Sammy wanted. He wanted to sit down with a fellow mobster and not some reformed motivational Speaker.
He hides behind the letter of the law, not the spirit or intent. He had to live with it. He is smooth. I've liked his style and stories. It did feel off at times. I just wouldn't invest or loan him any of my money or trust.
People think because he didn’t send anyone to jail he’s not a rat 🙄 if you even admit to the EXISTENCE of Cosa nostra while involved, that’s what they DEFINE as a RAT
@@tpw9099 It’s not the fact that he ratted. As you say it was years ago and doesn’t really matter now. And when facing the rest of the only life you get in a prison , most people would snitch. Most people with sense. It’s the fact he expects people to believe he didn’t rat is what some people find annoying. He has pointed out that the names of these people were already known to the feds, on tape already all he did was talk about his part in the crime admitting what occurred. That’s not ratting, they already had the evidence he admits the guilt. He did not go to them & give up stuff they had no ideas about? Like when Sammy G went and told that V. Gigante was really not insane and was the head of the Genovese family and head of the commission! They needed that info that is something they were having difficulty proving . That is what real ratting is, not admitting something happened they already have on tape! Apply this same concept to politicians and we have where we’re at today. The mafia/mob ran congress. Congress has adapted to the mob/mafia type ideology.
He never said they committed a crime . He mentioned who was the capo etc. he was stating what the Government had already known. This was long after the mob was all brought down . Nobody was convicted because of what he said . That’s not being a rat

Damn, this kind of breaks my heart. I wonder why he wasn’t honest about what really happen because he’s full on testifying and sharing inside information on his friends names and all. This might be the reason his dad couldn’t help him when they wanted to wack Michael. I still love Michael hope he talks about this soon and clears the air
Here's the truth.....The Feds knew he couldnt come out as a full rat (because of his legendary dad doing 50 y/o without snitching)......So they arranged a plea deal....where he didnt have to go to court......one Mafia guy (on some Christian channel on youtube) was forced to plea guilty instead of going to court to see Mike Franzese....And Franzese gave the Feds and NYPD (to the best of my knowledge) insight on how the Mafia work.....And arranged him to talk to college kids on gambling (Feds had a hand in it).

Jeez, you guys need to do some research. The guys that he's talking about were informants or agents trying to setup Don King. Their fake story was that they were trying to launder money. You can find out all about it, it's public record.
I mean, to be entirely fair there is a difference between doing your time and then testifying after the fact, and just straight-up ratting on your co-defendants to get out of jail time in the first place. But yeah, definitely naming a lot of names here.

I like Mike F. Believe his faith is real. I am a little disappointed here. Not sure why he does not just say “I did some testimonies, but it had little impact on people.” Not sure if any of these people he names got in legal trouble due to this testimony. However he is informing in a general way the crimes the mob does in relation to boxing. I am sure this helped law enforcement zero in on certain individuals and on how to better intervene in these crimes. No problem with his testimony, just be honest about it. Otherwise, just refuse to talk about it on your social media stuff. Reminds me a little of someone (past POTUS) who said: “Ok, Ok I smoked some pot, BUT I DID NOT INHALE”. LOL.
Pretty sure he’s always said exactly that actually..at least as long as I’ve Been watching his videos. Without even watching this all the way I’ve always known he did this..These things arnt even any kind of criminal proceeding anyway. These comments saying he ain't a rat are bonkers. Of course he is. Whether anyone went to prison is irrelevant. Does that mean he doesn't have valuable things to say? Of course not. I enjoy much of his content. But he told secrets the same as anyone else who cooperated.

From what I understand, Michael never said he wasn't a rat. In Mafia States of America, he relents to Sammy Gravano that he ratted after Gravano pressed him on it. Michael makes his claim to fame on a technicality that happened to work out in his favor and he attempts to pass it off as something he engineered and did purposely. His claim that he holds onto is, no one went to prison DIRECTLY as a result of his testimony. Which is technically true. Nevermind that ratting in general places unwanted attention on people you've ratted on where that attention may not have existed earlier (A fact that Sammy pointed out). Michaels point is that they didn't use his testimony or the evidence provided in it to convict anyone. (Sammy's point was, this wasn't something Michael did or could have a way of engineering that ensured no one went to prison. Sammy proports no one went to prison simply due to happenstance rather than something Michael purposely did.
