Michael J Fox is a true inspiration for us all. He's never given up in his fight with his Parkinson's disease and trying to help others...Kudos to you Michael !!!! And God Bless 🙏🙏🙏
I adore him. He is an excellent actor, fabulous person, dedicated family man,a genuine humanitarian and the list goes on and on...I admire Michael J. Fox.
Plus, after his diagnosis, he could have just retired and left acting, but he didnt. He used his status to bring awareness and raise money for research.
I honestly have never met a single soul who doesn’t love him. One of the greatest. He’s like everyone in America’s cool next door neighbor. Love his work & love all that he does to spread awareness. You have an amazing career and a helleva life brother. Respect
@@drmidnight2419 , I can see that now looking back, but it was totally lost on me in the moment. Maybe it works on some people, but I've never really been one for getting starstruck or emotionally invested in the cult of personality. That, and I still don't watch much tv, nor did I then. I just thought it was an amusing dynamic of the black sheep that theirs would be an overachieving republican barely five feet tall, if that. Didn't both of his studio sisters eventually tower over him? I also remember when his character got hooked on speed from Mallory's overweight friend, so that he could study for some important exam. What an ambitious delinquent, lol. Cheers!
I have loved Michael J. Fox for many years, since "Family Ties." "Back to the Future" was one of my favorite movies as a kid. I was so saddened by the Parkinson's diagnosis and am glad that he is still here and working as an actor.
I was amazed at watching him testify in front of Congress unmedicated being the "big star" that he is to show them just exactly what they are dealing with. He was eloquent even though he was fighting his disease and at the same time it was heartbreaking to watch him struggle knowing that this is how he lived his life after all he's given us. Not only is he a wonderful man but has a wonderful woman standing by his side through all of this. My hat's off to the Fox family.
He's a living, breathing testimony of courage to everyone that's dealing with neurological diseases. (aka:Parkinson disease, Multiple Sclerosis etc.etc.) Everytime I see Mr. Fox & see what he's been working on throughout his life, it gives me some hope that I'm gonna get through this. I know what I've been diagnosed with will never go away. But what I also know is that I've gotta get a hold of something to help take it off my mind...even for just a few minutes would be a nice change
I think Michael getting Parkinsons at such a young age gave him even more strength to overcome the disease. He seems to have done more from it (raising millions for the research and cure) than anyone would have ever expected. A great humanitarian as well as a gifted actor ❤
When I was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease, he was getting the first person I thought of even though there are other people in my life with the disease. He's my inspiration to just keep going.
I believe Michael J. to be one outstanding actor as well as one fine human being. The man knows how to live and live right. Even to be faced with his situation today, he still remains a humble, kind and outstanding man!!!
I love ❤️ him. I have a cute picture of him on my fridge and has been there for many, many years! You handled your illness so very well. You are always in my prayers, Michael. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🥰❤️❤️❤️
Love his shows and how he has helped so many people and believe me he has. I have a family member who hide in his house because of his Parkinson’s after Michael came out he slowly started to have a more normal life. And for that I admire and respect and most of all THANK MICHAEL WITH MY WHOLE HEART AND LOVE. GOD BLESS MICHAEL AND HIS BEAUTIFUL FAMILY.
Great actor and just an overall great person. I know getting Parkinson’s wouldn’t be considered a blessing, but him becoming a huge spokesperson for it is. Him & his wife have done so much over the years to help combat this disease 🙏🏾.
I admire the man for not just giving up, he not only is a hero to many with the disease but an actor who steps out of his comfort zone to bring up some great characters in his roles.
How can you just give up though? I mean you wake up each day regardless.. He has no choice to get up and get through each day if he wants any quality of life of quantity whilst fighting it.. He's doing amazing although it's sad to see how the disease has progressed in him. x
I've loved him since Family Ties. What a great actor, family man, human, great example of strength. I've had head tremors for decades (ET) and didn't want to be social, especially eating around people, but MJF is a fine example of not letting a disease define you. God bless you, Michael.
A few years ago, I was driving my taxi on the Upper East Side of NY. A wife helped her cane bearing husband into the cab and I took them to their 5th Ave. apartment. It took me a few minutes, but I realized it was Michael J. Fox and Tracy Pollen. We had a great conversation about restaurants and music (I make it a point never to talk to celebrities about their careers). They were down to earth and friendly.
What an awesome twist of fate for you. I admire him for testifying before congress without his medications, to advocate for Parkinson's research. Many celebrities would not be so humble or allow themselves to be seen this way, and he made his point very effectively. Many people will continue to benefit from his wilingness to to speak out on this.
One of my Best friends has Parkinson's hes one of the nicest man I ever met. He's about 30 years older than me but his heart is the kindest. Thank you for doing this research it helps normal people who suffer with it to have hope. God Bless!
May he live long and healthy. I sincerely hope his illness comes to an end. Life can be pretty unfair to people. We see evil people live out their lives without being bothered yet good people, like Michael suffer. Stay positive, brother. I'm rootin' for you all the way!
Compared with some other channels on YT, you gave us a comprehensive, unsentimental, yet very sympathetic summary of the career of a valiant man who's faced many more obstacles than most, yet who still bounces back as far as he is able. Respect to him, and my thanks to you.
Michael J Fox is one of the most underrated actors of all time. Comedic timing, as many know, however he has a great emotional range suitable for more dramatic roles, as per Brian De Palma's "Casualties of War".
I have always loved MJF. He’s always been so talented, charismatic and funny. He also always seemed like just a good guy. It’s nice to see how all of these qualities have helped him through his life and career- even when facing such challenging circumstances. It’s refreshing to see someone so “real” thrive in his career and in his personal life too. Sometimes, what you see, is really what you get. ☺️ Love this guy. ❤️
I always enjoyed watching him in every one of his roles, his timing, gentle sense of humor always came through. After I discovered he'd been living such a busy life, while fighting Parkinson's I was very sad for him & his family. My Father was losing hiß hard-fought battle with the same disease. Michael's openness about the disease, symptoms, research, etc. were a big help time in learning to be a better healthcare advocate for Dad. #MichaelJFox Thank you for all you've done to help patients & their loved ones, ❤️🙏🏼🤗👍✅
One of the few "good men" left in Hollywood. He is such an inspiration. So glad I got to meet him at Megacon, May 2019. Was a true "meet your hero" moment. Had him sign a small model DeLorean and said to him "I have heard that things best work out for those who handle things when they work out." A total flub from his memoir "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Future", when he quoted "Things work out best for those who best handle how things work out." I tried to memorize it on the one day drive to Orlando. Whoops : ). Even though I totally hosed the quote, my friend came up to me and asked me what I said to MJF. When I inquired as to why he wondered, he told me you could visibly see MJF stop what he was doing, look up at me and smile. My life was pretty much completed in that moment.
He's always been an affable character. How can you not like the guy. There is a bit of Michael J Fox in all of us, if we can just bring it to light the world would be a better place. God bless him !
I met him one early morning at the restaurant where I was at the time-having put blueberry muffins in the showcase he took one before I could put them on display, and he asked me if I would butter his muffin and put sugar and cream in his coffee..I was glad to help him and I was sad to see his difficulty-what a great man and a real help to those with Parkinson's
Awww. I'm sure you were actually honored to help him. It has to be hard for a grown man to ask for help doing little things most ppl take for granted of being able to do. God bless you both!
I’m sorry ur Mom passed my friend. Praying for u to find strength and peace from her memory and her love for u. She is still with u but now she isn’t suffering🙏🏼💟☮️
Thanks for this terrific biography! I grew up watching MJF starting with his Family Ties days. I once got a peek at him while he was taking a break while filming 'Light of Day' in Cleveland. I was shocked to learn he was a smoker. Changed my perception of Alex P. Keaton! But it didn't change my admiration for him as a great actor. Loved him as the diabolically clever Louis Canning on The Good Wife. Love him still as a Parkinson's survivor. :-)
He has been through hell and back, as many people have. He knows that. I'm so glad he is more happy in his own skin now. I hope he writes another book. They're all brilliant, particularly 1st and latest.
@@donarthiazi2443 the show had a political agenda, he was part of it. They tried to get people to think the Democrats position in a sit-com. It was how they used mind control in the early 80s. With some humor and stories, this drops people's mental filter so they can insert some brainwash.
I lived in Burnaby and a few of my girl friend's went to Burnaby Heights High School with him. They all talked about how charismatic & caring he is. Way to go through your trials & tribulations you & your family are admired here in 🇨🇦 Canada.
My mother was disagnosed with Parkisons around the same age. The doctors realized that she had it since her early 20s, which is why she kept going to the doctors trying to figure out why she never felt well. By the time my mother was 40 she was using a walker and embarrassed to be around people. Still hurts my heart.
That is something everyone worries about since each one of us wants to stay independent for as long as we can walk without support. I hope your mother is doing well.
I'm about 5-6 years older than him but have enjoyed all of his movies. What I am most thankful for though is the awareness he's brought to PD. My brother-in-law was diagnosed with PD about 4 years ago. I have learned so much and have been guided in the right direction to learn about this disease to better understand and help my brother-in-law through the Michael J Fox awareness groups and Foundation. Many of the PD docs refer patients there also for added imfo. It saddens me that Michael or anyone else must live with this horrific disease but because of Michael much more has been learned of it ~ ✌🌷
Wow, what a great man with a passion to never give up. His great career has brought us some great entertainment, and his help for others with Parkinson’s Disease again shows the world what a great heart this man has. I truly hope and pray for the very best of everything for this man and his family! I only wish more people in Hollywood could only use their influence in such positive ways. Michael J. Fox… you make hero status in my book my friend! God bless ❤️😎👍
I totally understand being diagnosed with a debilitating disease at a young age. I was 47 when I was diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis mutalins. A rare form of psoriatic arthritis. But you keep trying. I had to stop working too. But life is good. I pray Michael has lots of good days. He sure gave a lot to us fans. He is an awesome person! And a fantastic actor. Thanks Michael for all the great movies & shows. Leslye
I loved watching Michael J Fox act. He was a fantastic actor. He said that when he was acting in the sitcom "Family Ties" and the movie "Back to the Future" that he only got 2 hours of sleep each day! He's an amazing man because he doesn't give up. He's not letting Parkinson's disease keep him down. It really helps a lot that he's an eternal optimist. He has a good wife and kids that help him too. More power to him. He's also a very friendly person.
Michael J. has always been an inspiration to me for a long, long time. He is a "FANTASTIC" actor and seems to be one of the most down to earth, compassionate people on this planet. He comes across to me like someone with more common sense than the vast majority of people out there. I have admired his acting of about every character he portrayed. I really began to admire him more when I learned how good of a guitar player he was. God bless this man and I wish him the best in his struggles and adjustments through life. I've learned myself how quickly your rug can be pulled out from under you and your life can be turned upside down and inside out since I was diagnosed with cancer in 2006. This most recent surgery of many I've had set me back more than I ever imagined cancer could other than taking your life completely. Believe me, these life changing adjustments are more of a challenge than anyone not experiencing them can realize!!! I do so whole heartedly wish Michael and his family the very, very best that can be!!!
Would ANY of us want to see the transformations we have all gone through over the years? I have rheumatoid arthritis so I don’t. My husband died of cancer -he wouldn’t. I admire Michael & his family for sticking together & helping each other as they work through how this terrible disease has affected all of their lives. I admire their support to find treatments & a cure for this awful disease. Everything else is extraneous bullshit! ❤️ & admiration to the whole Fox family!
@@denisemayosky1955 Thank you Denise. I think going through what I and my family went through makes me hypersensitive to what other family’s go through when they are going through a devastating illness. Patience, love and a sense of humor all help to get through. It is a reminder to all of us that a little bit of kindness goes a long way!
I always loved his films.I think he’s very courageous and has certainly made people aware of Parkinson’s.I had a friend with it ,he was elderly but it came on really fast .I think Michael had such a determined mind ,that he has not let Parkinson’s be his life ,but has lived his life with it.I see his name in voice overs in cartoons too. I really admire him immensely for his inner strength ,courage and of course his acting skills ..He will always be a shining star in my eyes ⭐️
I appreciate that he's such a really great actor, he is incredible. Parkinson's is very, very close to my heart and Mr J. Fox is amazing considering what he is dealing with and the medical issues he has. Trust me Parkininson's can be brutal.
Yes Parkinson’s is brutal. My husband had it along with Lewy Body Dementia. Both are nasty. I appreciate what you shared. I used the M J Fox Foundation to find the most information re medications and how to help my husband. He passed away September of 2015. I still keep up on new information on Parkinson’s. Thank you for sharing this. I also liked the Back to the Future movies. Take care and be safe. Prayers to everyone dealing with this disease. 🙏🏻🌺🌈
@@ruthanngraff6800 Hello Ruthann. Go to the Michael J Fox Foundation web page as there is a lot of information that will help you also the American Parkinson’s Association. You can get a lot of information at both of these pages. Make sure your husband has a doctor that understands and treats people with Parkinson’s. There are new drugs out now that we’re not available back when my husband alive. We had his tremors under control. I have seen people with Parkinson’s live many years. Look at Michael J Fox. Make sure you find a good Physical Therapist that works with people with Parkinson’s. My husband was seen by one of the best here in Oregon. I pray this helps your husband you both. I’ll keep you both in my prayers. Take care and be safe, keep hope and stay positive. My Faith and positivity is what helped me along with very good doctors and therapists. 🥰🙏🏻💕🌺🌈
Michael is a man of God 🙏 n I pray for a miracle for his body. His a great husband n a great dad. God bless you.n thank you for entertaining us..love you .ur fan Fort Worth, Texas
Honestly, I have never heard a negative thing about the man. Appears to carry himself well, minds his own business, works hard. Many people could learn a thing or 2 from him and follow his lead.
I have always respected this man as a great actor and good person. This disease is horrible and a test to the spirit of this man is how he has dealt with it.
He should still be in shows and movies. Just need a better script and high draw actors. People have Fox pegged in young and comic type roles thats all. Parkinsons, or any debilitating condition at a young age is traumatic. Fox is a great Canadian we are all so proud of him, his acting and his personal courage💕♥️❤️
I met Michael J. Fox in Boston at a bar next to Boston University in 1991. He was in Boston to watch the Bruins in the playoffs. He sat with Cam Neely, a Bruins star and part owner today, and Woody Harrelson of Cheers fame. Harrelson was wearing a wig as a disguise. I went over and got Fox's autograph, and he seems like a great guy. Best wishes to him and his family. Incidentally, Fox grew up in Vancouver, as did Neely and Fox is a hockey fanatic.
I was fortunate enough to meet Michael J. Fox during the filming of Back To The Future. He was such a cutie pie, so nice and gracious to everyone. At the end of the day he came and watched Family Ties with us and the kids in the neighborhood who were not allowed to walk down the street during filming. He plopped right down on the floor and the kids plopped down next to him and shared a moment I am sure they never forgot. I know I will never forget.
I LOVE Michael J Fox! Everything he was in was amazing! His movies were all on my favorites list. Every. One. Of. Them. Thank you for the video on him. ❤️🥰
He has handled his career and disease in such a positive way!! He is so talented & a terrific actor! We have a family member suffering with Parkinson’s too. It is such a horrible disease and the way he has kept ‘his chin up’ and still does interviews so the public understands what he is going through-is to be greatly admired. Plus his wife’s continued long term support is so wonderful too.
I love Michael J Fox...he influenced me to start skate boarding however long that lasted lol...I was looking for him in the lime light and the frightners surprised me. Good movie. He's great I hate that Parkinsons hurt him but it really didnt... not much career wise
