This is probably the only interview where Michael feels that he is not under attack. Even though this was an awful time in his life, just the fact that Geraldo is being genuinely kind and not fake, and interested in what Michael is saying, it is written all over Michael's face just joy. He looks the most relaxed I've ever seen him in an interview. Almost like something he has never experienced with the press or in an interview. It shows you the true, kind, amazing person this world took so much for granted. Michael was not only the greatest entertainer to ever walk this Earth, he was a true humanitarian, an amazing father, and just a truly amazing man. I wish there were more interviews like this one. I wish people could have focused on his talent and love and kindness, instead of sensationalistic lies for the tabloid presss to make money. But, in this, it's lovely to see that Michael doesn't have to feel guarded and attacked and that they can actually laugh together. In other interviews Michael would smile, laugh or make a little joke and the interviewer would cut him off with some stupid question about surgery or whatever other ridiculous things. This interview truly feels like Michael felt comfortable and it is so truly lovely to see. Michael-the world is a better place because of you. Your legacy in music, dance, entertainerment, kindness, love will live on for eternity. And, unfortunately the horrible price of judging someone without knowing them and using someone for selfish greed. I hate that you had to endure that, but maybe some people will learn from that and learn from your kindness and humblness even in the face of awful treatment. We love you, Michael. I agree. Geraldo was sincere and asked him the right questions about his creativity the music he makes and his future plans besides all the negativity. This is the interview I wanted to hear besides all the other journalists that was being cut throat and evil like Bashir, Oprah and Barbara Walters all those interviews were attacking and disrespecting him for the humanitarian and artist he was. I have read that the Police of santa Barbara i thougt, have found a blue box with documents, movies and pictures of man, woman, but also children in extreme bondage and positions, and medication so he can stop his sex adicction. A police officer thels that he was a horny predetator in this article... this whas all before his court case in 2005, but still he wasn't convicted.... very weird story! I don't know what to believe anymore but If that was all the truth, why did nobody protect his own children, against him, who are living with him at that moment. If this is all true than he was not capable of taking care of the kids. And then he didn't deserve to be a parent. And they have to be protected against him. And with all the medication abuse i don't understand why child protection hasn't have taken the children away....and with the allegations of child abuse. I understand that he tooked the medication because he was in pain. All this, i mean this not too judge. Just to speak my thauhgts and I realise everything is very strange. And since his dead people starting to tell storys about that he was an addict and his strange relationships with childeren....and nobody protect these children at the time (if it is all true) i'm sorry but King of pop or King of the world or god, anyone who's abusing a child should belong in jail. Even if his name is Michael Jackson. And not taking money. If my child was abused/molested i never should settle for money! This is my first time watching this interview and I wonder why this interview is not as famous as the other interviews where the interviewers r asking Michael inappropriate questions and being rude to him. I respect geraldo for not judging Michael, but being openminded and trying to understand him. I assume it was difficult for him to state his opinion that michael is innocent, since during this time everyone believed that Michael was a child molester. Any ways, I am so happy to see Michael being treated the way he should be treated. RIP Michael Jackson
My first time too sad i made me cry. So happy for him that someone publicly believed in his innocence and like you said respected him. He was amazing and such a loving person. I would have love to have met him in person. He was pure, genuine and caring. So beautiful.
i noticed at 4:50 when michael laughs he keeps his smile on his face when looking at gerald, because gerald was exceptionally kind to michael, he didn’t judge him and he treated him like an innocent regular human being. if you watch any other interviews out there with michael, you always see that when he begins to laugh or smile, it’s cut short, because the interviewer never laughed with him or was ever truly genuine with him. gerald was really the only genuine interview michael experienced in his life in my opinion.

When sexually abused hundreds of times in childhood (like Safechuck & Robson), it’s common to jumble the details but not the essence of knowing what generally happened. So - don’t get tied up on the odd detail that can be proved wrong…it doesn’t mean they are lying or weren’t abused. MJ had so many boy companions, admitted to sleeping in bed with them (& did so for months in end in those boy’s own homes. At least seven of those boys (most of them long term companions of MJ) have accused MJ if child sex abuse (all with common themes in how they were abused). Several staff members have also disclosed seeing signs of MJ’s sexual abuse of children. More and more has become known about child sex abuse and grooming. It’s so obvious MJ was a child sex abuser…and I believe he came to understand he had harmed many boys & it was going to come out…thus he imploded.

Geraldo Rivera was a true friend to MJ, my wife and I were at Neverland Valley Ranch January 16th 2004 with tons of other fans after his court day when he got in top of the SUV. Let me tell you there were security guards EVERYWHERE and security cameras EVERYWHERE there was NO way anybody could be alone with a child not even MJ. Parents were ALWAYS with the kids so stop the bullshit lies and false accusations even in his death. .

God bless Geraldo, he one of the few, perhaps only one who gave Michael a fair shake and looked at things objectively. It was brave of him to support Michaels innocence, he looked at the facts when other "journalists" sensationalized things for ratings. Of all the interviews of Michael's I have seen, this by far has been the best. He was given the chance to talk without being interrupted. Also, I can see where he has matured quite a bit. So sorry he is gone, I am 60, it is 2024..and Mr Jackson was a living legend, and still his time is not over yet.

I don’t understand why people say Michael was ugly. I mean look at him. Beautiful outside and so well spoken, the way he uses his words, his mannerisms, he was so well educated and a man of his caliber being so humble of his achievements, truly one of a kind. I look up to him every day of my life.

I know Michael Jackson from faraway. I Always understood him because I am a child at heart For 34 years l donated half of my check buying gifts for children's birthdays and Christmas that mothers couldn't afford to. I also visited and brought gifts for sick children in hospitals. Seeing the joy on their faces was wonderful, I didn't get no toys for birthdays and Christmas but I enjoyed giving and being a nurse and taking care of people.
