MJ donated approx. $300-500 MILLION to charities around the world, & started his own charity, Heal The World Foundation. Even in death, 20% of proceeds of all record sales (singles & albums) STILL is donated to the charities he supported over his lifetime, many of them from Africa. (The Jackson 5/Jacksons toured Africa when Michael was still quite young & it really influenced him.)
I don't know any other artist that care about this world in the manner like this man!!! The message is really really a positive one we can't change the world unless we change ourselves!
1. "Man In The Mirror" was written by the wonderful Siedah Garrett (lyrics) and Glen Ballard (music). You hear Siedah's voice (solo) in the chorus. 2. Over his lifetime, Michael Jackson gave over $300 million dollars to charity. In 2000, The Guinness Book of World Records cited him as the most philanthropic pop star in history. 3. Even more significant than giving money, however, Michael Jackson gave his time. At every stop on his tours, he visited orphanages and hospitals.
If u wanna see a crowd go wild like you've never seen before watch Man in the Mirror Moonwalker version. Half a million people ALL goin crazy & faintin😂
Jack Reacts please react to man in the mirror live in bucharest 1992!!! the crowd is so wild, falling out, fainting and everything lmao, and it’s an amazing performance too
When Michael was a young boy he traveled to Africa with his family. He was so overcome by the poverty that he promised his mother ( a devout Jehovah"s Witness ) that he was going to make a change in the lives of the poverty stricken . He followed through with that promise and donated a total of 500 million dollars to charity. You should listen to the original version of "We Are The World."
Mike has donated out of his wealth more than any artist has ever done during the years of his fame.. which earned him a guinness world record.. he was an angel.. R.I.P king of pop
Love this song..depending on the day, I still cry happy tears, as I am vamped up with inspiration to do better, be better, and make that change from within first! 💯 I think you'll love his song "Butterflies" ...it has a jazzy approach to it. A silky, smooth R&B classic. #HandsDown
YEs you finally reacted to this. You should react to his grammy performance in 1988 he puts so much emotion in it. I also recommend the You Rock My World video full length and Blood On The Dance Floor those videos are both fun.
He was in the video but it was for a very brief moment. It was towards the end. He was in the middle of a group of children making a peace sign. Nonetheless I agree with everything you said. I love your reactions!
Hey man, great reaction! Boy deserves 100k subs deadass! You're very kind and open minded when it comes to music we really appreciate that as viewers! Your next MJ reaction do Billie Jean live, my personal favorite performance ever was him performing it in 2001, you'll see MJ really breakdown some moves!
The choir in this song, Earth Song, and a lot of his other songs are the famous André Crouch Choir! I believe this was his first collaboration with them though
Please react to We Are The World (original 1985). Written by MJ and Lionel Ritchie and includes all the supestars in the US. Amazing - you will love it.
Live performance of Man in the Mirror is EVERYTHING. You must check out that. It's more powerful - Grammy 1988 or Copenhagen concert or Bucharest. His performance is what made this song so much powerful.
The were scenes of Apartheid South Africa. People were protesting with drawings of Nelson Mandela, Archbishop Desmond Tutu and protests in the township. The child with the swollen stomach is from when Somalia had a serious famine in 1992.
You’re on point with this reaction and with this channel. 🔥 Man In The Mirror and all his anthems were released when no one else was taking that risk musically or artistically. I have the upmost respect for him bc of that. I feel like he used his platform w/out fear or judgement.
This is why Princess Diana and Michael were such good friends. They knew that the world needed to heal and even though they were only 2 they tried to get the ripple to grow. We no longer have either of them but we won't forget what they have done.
Designz R Us I like the ‘87-88 version cuz it’s funkier and it was live (his best performance vocally of that song live). His best moonwalk to me was in 92 the Bucharest concert. I think of the later performances I’d have to go “HIStory” tour because he did more pop locking at the end of that performance than the ‘01 version cuz he was older. But to each their own.
This is a beautiful song and message. FYI there is a live Grammy performance where Michael just goes all out. A must see. Thank you young man "I love you ".
Jack! Please never change how you are and the way you breakdown the reactions!! Love it. Keep them coming, love from the UK 🇬🇧 also please react to ed sheeran “you need me i don’t need you” but the one in the live room! Oldie but goodie trust me!
“What I usually do on my off days, I visit as many hospitals as I do concerts. I visit as many orphanages as I do concerts. But because it is good news, the press doesn’t cover it because they want bad news. But I do it from my heart.” - Michael Jackson
Jack you should definitely react to the Man In The Mirror 1988 Grammy performance. Every time I watch it feels like it’s the first time I’m watching it. It’s gonna blow your mind. One of the best performances of all time, trust me
Jack , thank you so much for your heart felt reaction, there is no words to describe this, like most of Michael s songs this has the most powerful message, only people with hearts realize what a compassionate, kind, innocent and wonderful human being he was,if all the people take his message to heart and change, this world will be a better place, his legacy will live on forever.
@@JackReacts904 thank you so much for replying, I'm so glad younger generation like you appreciate his music and get the message, that's what Michael wanted throughout his life, much love to you ,stay safe and healthy. ❤
The video, lyrics, his voice, remembering how the world turned his back on him during that ordeal & realizing he's gone. Im crying yall...I miss him so much 😢😔 (2:06 you're reaction to the kkk you were caught off guard 😂)
Such a beautiful song, but the sad thing is that after more than 30 years of it's release, our planet hasn't changed that much. It actually got worse. I really hope we all change our ways and help each other to make this world the better place it should be.
6:56 Always gives me chills. I remember being 11yrs old, sitting in front of that TV watching them pull Baby Jessica up out of that well. It was like the whole country stood still and prayed for that baby. They had been trying to pull her up for days. They were racing against time because she hadn't eaten or drank anything for over 72hrs.
You would like the 88 Grammy performance of this song. They decided to largely snub MJ, so he was kinda ticked off. Also react to Lauryn Hill Sweetest Thing.
This music vid makes me super emotional... humans are capable of such beauty, compassion, and kindness... yet hate, racism, and cruelty will never go away. We can do so much .. and like he says... we gotta start with the man in the mirror...
Great reaction, as always :). There's a split second of footage with him in it from a visit to Japan, but you have to look hard for him because it's a crowd shot. So, if you blink, you miss it. I agree with you that the lack of any overt presence from him in the main clip is intentional (there's another version for his Moonwalker movie that features concert footage of him performing the song). He was almost always heavily involved in the conceptual direction of his visuals, and this was not one of the exceptions. This is the only song on Bad (1987) that Michael didn't have writing credits on (in fact, he wrote most of the songs on that album by himself), so the fact that out of all the outside compositions he could've brought in for the project, he chose this one, is telling. Siedah Garrett (who Michael wrote and sang "I Just Can't Stop Loving You" with, and later took on tour with him in the '90s) and Glen Ballard wrote this for him; Siedah said they wanted to make sure they gave him something special
I like the like “who am I to be blind, pretending not to see their need. That line touches me Bc he realizes he has the power to help those in need so instead of pretending not to see it he actually helps out. Yk
i never get enough of the line: “If you wanna make the world a better place, take a look at yourself and make a change.” Inspirational MJ, Inspirational Indeed
I’m really surprised you have not done,Nas -One Mic and Tupac-Dear Momma, These song’s truly have strong messages,Love this Michael Jackson song Lord the messages, I also love your reaction, I plan to become a Patreon ,I believe in your vision and supporting my on, Jacksonville in the house lifelong ✌🏽.
The song/video is about the people. Including us. The beautiful thing about this song is, when you sing it, all of the sudden you’re putting yourself in the mirror. All of the sudden you’re telling yourself, you’re gonna make a change, for once in your life. RIP the GOAT🙏
I want. That damn. Velvet hoodie. Jack, I love you so much. Your reaction videos are so accurate and so understandable. I think( and mind you, I'm gay) I think I might have to stop watching your videos before I develop a little bit of a crush on you. I don't mean to sound so awkward but it's so true. Jack, you don't know what your videos mean to me. You don't know what YOU mean to me. Hugs from a gay 19 year old.
Bro... Feeling in the heart has no video... I've listened to all Michaels songs longer than you've known about him, and this song is one of many that make me cry every time.
Thank you so much Jack we love when you react to MJ! I will recommend you for sure the live performance that MJ did: it's called 'Man in the mirror 30th annual Grammy 1988’, the performance was so powerful and emotional to me and i'm sure u'll enjoy it! Hi from Paris;)) Take care.
Dude you are wonderful in your reactions! do not repeat yourself in opinions! sincerely try to feel the creativity! recently found you, good luck to you🙂
You should definitely watch his live performances for this very song. MJ performed it with such energy and power, making the crowd go wild. Such a beautiful, powerful song, gives me goosebumps. With what is going on in the world right now, we got to get it right, starting with ourselves.
Michael tried to change the world. Through his message and through actually giving. This video is a tough watch. The live versions are incredible to watch 'cause of the crowd reactions.
