Eddie offered his sevices for free and never did get paid. Slash was chosen and paid to tour by Jackson. Big difference. Slash has never tapped. Two totally different guitarists. Jackson could still have hired EVH over a 30-year career with that album for live shows and never did.
@@DaveClark-ib6spyou are forgetting the case of beer & dance lessons. That's what EVH demanded for the solo. Also… MOST IMPORTANTLY… EVH DID NOT WANT TO BE NAMED IN THE CREDITS! He didn't want that for it was more of a gift to MJ. Now… do you believe EVH would have went on tour with MJ after hearing that he wanted anonymity to begin with? Knowing this… do you think he might have asked EVH before hand… as a respectful gesture for his gift? … and it being on one of the worlds most recognizable hits? He may have asked him… but it'd be hard to know with both gone.
@CJ-eh7qd those legendary solos belong to EVH on the album. If Jackson chose Slash it's because he wanted HIS style for that tour just like he wanted with Lita Ford's. Live it's anyones ball game, and obviously, if he wanted it to sound like Eddie, he could just about hired anyone. Slash doesn't tap, ne never has, not even once, so why is this a discussion about who is better? It's about who's different.
