I remember the first time I watched this movies, and when this scene came on, I swear I laughed so hard out my face hurt all day..Truly wonderful actor, and I loved him In *Forrest Gump* as well. I miss his sweet face. Xxx

This brilliant movie came out before its time. Perfect cast-Robin Williams, Jeff Bridges, Mercedes Ruehl and Amanda Plummer. Beautifully directed by Terry Gilliam, no wonder it's made the Criterion Collection. I hope they add "Wag the Dog" to their gallery.
So many people saying they don’t remember this scene in the movie - this is literally the only scene I DO remember from this film! One of my favorite scenes of any movie I’ve ever seen. I quote the Anne Morrow Lindbergh line way too often.
Memory is a weird thing. I have no clue why but something popped into my head just now. I couldn't quite remember the tune. For some reason I thought, is it the Lydia song from The Fisher King. Heck, I couldn't even remember if there was a Lydia sone in The Fisher King. So I looked it up and here I am. Memory is weird.
If you look around, all the extras are smiling. I hope in my head that they all broke character, that they were all supposed to act shocked. I also think, that in a perfect world, this was shot in one take.

I've done thousands of singing telegrams over 38 years and the pathos of his performance is simply hilarious when he drops the line in the elevator, " I'm Laura Lindberg and I can't find my baby!" I think I was the only person in the theater that heard it correctly and I cackled. I think there are also some videos you can find of his solo dance number in Grand Hotel on Broadway. R.I.P. good Sir. Those angels nabbed you far too soon
The Grand Hotel number is just stunning! I had NO idea mousy little Michael Jeter was such an astonishing actor! A true loss to have him leave us so soon.

I just discovered this marvelous slice of The Fisher King here after researching Michael Jeter, spurred by curiosity for his interesting and quirky performance in Sister Act 2. OMG!!! I have now watched this three times, it is fascinating, strange, weird, and wonderfully full of joy. Thank you criterioncollection for this upload.

A stand out moment in a movie full of stand out moments! But Michael Jeter’s was so sad so profoundly wonderful ,while it could have easily slipped into slapdash silly little scene? But with his performance one full of the Broadway shows he’s done ,he shines through his scene here ,it’s one of the great scenes one Michael can be remembered for!
This is where most great character actors outshine many of the so-called A-listers today. Michael Jeter's acting was a big part of the change of heart in my life towards gay people. He was brilliant in the Green Mile, and thanks to his versatility, I found it hard to believe he was the same actor playing both parts. Thanks, Michael. I will seek out more of the movies you were in...
This movie was incredibly underrated. Welcome to colinwood and the green mile were all the more better from his performance, he comes off so warm and human.
I like how the employees smiled at his performance ❤❤❤❤. I wished there was an applause because such a performance which makes everyone smile inspite of their mundane surroundings. Michael Jeter is a talent the world lost too soon. You still make us laugh even though even you went too fast.
It's scenes like this that make me wonder if I pay attention at all during the movies I watch. I saw the Fisher King. And yet I don't remember a thing about this scene. Who are these people?! What's going on?! The good news is that I'm very easily entertained: I can watch the same movie 7 times, and it's like a new discovery again and again.
OMG. This scene never gets old. It's him asking if a "mousy woman named Lydia works here?" All the while Throwing shade with the tag still attached to that wig/dress that does it for me..ROTFL
