This was an amazing game when you consider the fact that Bird's back was vanilla yogurt at this time. His back had to be manipulated for 4-6 hours prior to games to get a bit of structural stability to merely walk out on court, let alone play. Can you imagine Anthony Davis doing this?? And Jordan was being his unnatural, amazing self.... Good vid bro!!

Jordan was an athletic specimen, sniffing the ultimate in human physical evolution while seeming to defy gravity and astonishing the world. Larry Bird was a basketball genius with the tenacity of a charging rhino, devising team-play and passing strategies to compensate for his lack of speed and jumping ability. Bird's precision shooting drew away defenders and his passing skills left them dazed & confused. Jordan & Magic Johnson were pure athletic poetry in motion, especially Magic because he was so greasy smooth. Bird was the crafty slugger and underdog that never let the team down and gave 110% every time all the time. That's why I consider Bird to be the greatest all-around basketball player of all time.

Larry Bird damaged his hand so bad that he needed surgery, afterwards his finger stayed bent all the time. This was after he was drafted by the Celtics but before he played any games. He said the ball never felt the same. So he played his whole career with a messed up hand and still won MVP 3 seasons in a row. Hands down GOAT

People who complain about stuff now like it's new, don't know the past. There ain't nothing being done now that hasn't already been done in basketball. If they watched and learned from past eras they'd already know that and wouldn't say anything because basketball is basketball. Great react. These two going at eachother where the best outside of the Lakers Celtics games. Best Era in bball ever. If everyone got to watch I really think they'd agree. Had nothing to do with your money or shoes or whatever, it was about basketball and winning. Nothing to lose everything to win.

I will always admit that Michael Jordan is one of the greatest players of all time but when I look at the limitations Larry was playing with the man could barely put on his uniform he was in agony with his back injury and the lack of stability of his spine look at what he did when most other people would be crippled And yeah there's a reason why basketball doesn't do it for me anymore because basketball today isn't the same game oh he's charging to to dunk everybody get out of his way back in the day it was oh he's charging for the dunk everybody getting his way and stopping it's a different game and I don't think it's a different game for the better.

Even broken down, Larry is better than most of the rest of the NBA. I STILL TAKE HIM OVER EVERYONE. How tall is Larry? Officially 6’9” but Magic is listed as 6’9” & Larry is clearly taller. Other players have also stated Larry is actually 6’10”. “Larry I hear you’re retiring, I’m glad, I’m tired of seeing your face. You’ve had a great career but you’ve caused a lot of sad memories for me by ruining a lot of my successful games against the Celtics” - MJ on Larry’s retirement (paraphrased)

It's all in Birds shooting mechanics. He got triple teamed yet still shot a 3 over the defenders heads. Most players bring the ball from the floor to their waist, then release after raising the ball in front of their head. Bird began his shots from over and behind his head to release before the ball was ever in front of him for a defender to slap away. This matters. That's why he would shoot while being completely cornered.

Business might have had access even eralier, I dunno, I was a teenager back then and knew nothing about business. It wasnt a common thing in the everyday household until the late 90s. So for all intentes and pusposes to regular people and also the question you were really asking. The internet wasnt around when this was recorded. Fantastic video, good on you for giving light to the Legend of Larry Bird. However, with this video the matchup between Bird and Jordan was a treat to watch, 2 of the best just going at it. I agree with you, the rules these days are so ridiculous that you can't even talk, let alone touch a person without a foul. Back in the 80's-early 2000's there was a serious amount of fouling/fights/brawls/hard fouls that would be instant ejection today, but back then maybe you get a foul or maybe they just let you play on, depended on the amount of escalation and blood basically, hard to judge when things are about to pop off though. Good luck with your channel. Peace.
