MJ's other secret gift was that he had relatively small feet for his height (size 13), which allowed him to move his feet as quick as smaller guards. Combined with his supergiant hands, he literally was the perfect frame for basketball with everything else in perfect balance. Never seen anything like it. Absolute perfection.
@^^^ Well I mean...size 13 are still relatively large compared to the average male. Shit...I’m 6’1...and depending on brand I’m usually right around a 10-10.5
He did it to Kobe Bryant when he was a baby. Kobe Bryant in his prime would bust Michael Jordan's candy ass. Kobe Bryant the student became better than the teacher Michael Jordan.
@@BallinVFX Yep. Kobe copied his moves, every single one of them, then lied and said his game wasn't influenced by Jordan's. Kobe started letting his tongue hang about halfway through his career. Wonder where got that? The way he holds his shorts while catching his breath. He also started doing Jordan's slight pigeon-toed walk later in his career. His speech pattern became eerily similar to Mike's also. The list goes on and on. Kobe is/was an imitation of Jordan, a very good one, but still an imitation (except for the extra-curricular Colorado activities. That was all original Kobe).
@@shakedupree3299 since when? Jordan is still by far better than him, Kobe's moves is too forceful compared to MJ graceful baskets, the student will always be a student as he can never reach the teacher! Remember Kobe is one of the few several that has alot of several missed shots, Jordan knows how to execute and a good offense when it matters.. And can score at will w/o over exerting the body..
@@cheezlayer Prime Jordan vs Prime Kobe is the dream match-up for both of them. Honestly it would be very close. For those who wonder why Kobe "copycat" MJ moves, yall should know Kobe and Mike were real close and MJ teached Kobe a lot of things, Kobe always looked up to MJ like an idol, that's why he wanted to copy everything from him, like a teenager who try to act like a star he likes
@0:55. ALWAYS amuses me when I hear about this "tough era" Jordan played in. Just what the heck sort of "foul" is that? And look at the midget guarding him. LOL.
@Mike Loughnane You guys just say all sorts of dumb things, even while LOOKING at the frikken footage. Watch the beginning of the clip I highlighted. Jordan is 6-6. You are telling me that YOU, an adult, think that dude guarding him on that clip is the same height. And you are telling me they would have called a foul on Patrick Ewing on that play in today's NBA?
@@emmanuelenyinwa1443 what? He was on a stance. And some people either has long legs and short body or long body with shor legs. Plus, a shorter guy can actually guard you outside on dribbles and can push you more when you talk about center of gravity.
1:11, notice how he coiled his body to lower the center of gravity and took that lightning quick first step to lose the defender. There is not another player who can do that today.
How can anyone think Lebron is more athletic? MJ was athletic perfection with all time high IQ, handles, shooting, passing and defending skills all in one, even old. Lebron is clumsy by comparison to “old” Jordan and doesn’t have anywhere near the arsenal, athletic ability, skill etc. He can’t defend well for more than half his career, is a terrible shooter, average handles that leads to massive TO’s, no go to moves other than playing football and getting cheap and 1’s and bail out fouls by ref’s etc. I watched highlights of both back to back and I just don’t see a comparison in any way, shape or form. I also looked at his passing vs Magic. No comparison. I don’t get this supposed debate between Lebron and any of the top greats. I could care less about numbers as the league has been exposed on its numbers cheating with assists, rebounds etc. The eye test exposes the narratives badly.
Mj played these pro basketball players like a father playing backyard basketball with his kids on Sunday afternoon with barbecue chicken on grill. Simply the goat. He's in a category of his own!!
imagine being so absolutely perfect and gracefully humiliate opponents with such finesse moves and cunning fundamentals, this is god playing basketball when was bored and came down to earth
here in South Korea my brother says "if you wanna learn how to do a post moves you should have watch MJ" and I ask why? then Answer me "Just watch the god damn Clip, Girl!" now I see why. ( ^ __ ^ )
This is gorgeous to watch. Absolutely beautiful how Jordan moves, he is basketball perfection, and I find it odd how people can even compare Jordan to Lebron. There is absolutely no comparison, the fluidity of motion Jordan has, the perfect jump shot, the dazzling ball fakes and dribbling evasions, the absolutely unmatched creativity at the basket. Quite simply the GOAT
Anyone watch this to learn from him and copy his moves? It's amazing how much I struggled at first when trying to do them. The co-ordination, balance and dexterity required is mad. He makes it look so easy.
Not talkin abt how he kept scoring on big centers like prime ewing, but the facted that he can even go striaght into Yao an score on him along with other guards on him is just absurd. I'm talkin abt YAO. The guy that even Shaq had to put work on to get by. Not to mention that he just purely toy with garnett, pierce..etc with fundamentals at his Wizards TIME. Black Jesus christ!!
Michael in the forth. Everyone is ready to give birth to their lungs. Guys having cramps. Every one exhausted, pretty much like in the scene in space jam. Michael in the forth is still Michael; if anything even more motivated. While everyone else was tired beyond being effective in any way.
Kobe's footwork was more complex than Mike's. Mike's footwork was as basic as it gets. Both were equally effective. But I think Mike's combined strength and basic footwork in the post is more superior than Kobe's.
And you can even link it to their games: Mike appears to post more than Kobe as you put it, so he developed to be more proficient. Kobe was a better shooter and we see how he implements that with his complex footwork to get that shot from anywhere and on basically anyone. "Form follows function" holds especially true here. I agree with your insight. 👍🏾
@@bancholeo55 agree. Kobe might have put up the most difficult shots in history from the perimeter. He has this ability to pivot and spin to either direction and just shoot the ball like a normal jumpshot. Mike had a better shot selection though. He didnt shoot as much from the perimeter unless he had you beat in the post or he was open. What he did more though was muscle his way in the post and either slam it home or shoot the fadeaway. You're right, you can actually link these things and piece them together.
Kobe's footwork more complex than MJ REALLY. Or he can't create space like MJ. Not to mention MJs hands allowed him to take control of the ball without getting stolen. MORE DOESN'T MEAN COMPLEX. HE'S JUST HAVING A HARD TIME CREATING SPACE WHICH REQUIRES HIM TO DO MORE. SAME GOES WITH HIS HANDLES WHICH IS NOWHERE AS TIGHT AS KAWHI OR MJ. HE HAS TO DRIBBLE COZ HE'S HAVING A HARD TIME GETTING A SHOT OFF IN ONE OR TWO DRIBBLES SOMETIMES CAUSING HIM TO DRIBBLE TEN TIMES AND EVEN MORE. IT DOESN'T MEAN HE HAS GREAT HANDLES. IT ONLY ALLOWED DEFENSE TO RECOVER.
@3:25. The next time he tried this on Kobe in this game, Kobe made him a nice sandwitch and fed it to him cold. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-kvwUh54NiPU.html
@@ry_an. watch the movie at 34 seconds and tell me that's not a travel 😂🤦🏾♂️ I don't feel like watching the whole video back but I didn't even have to get 40 seconds in
kyrie westbrook mike conley chris paul harden lebron kemba giannis KD boogie every single player take 3 steps . have you ever saw a ref call a travel on a player who took 3 steps after dribbling ? who care about the definition if even the ones who apply the law doesnt take it in consideration . if you want to see a travel look at 3:57 jordan took 5 steps
These are all Hail Marys, lol. I will like to see his shooting percentages in these games taking prayers like this. He was washed up at this point and just hanging on by referee charity and the fact a lot of these stars took it easy on him. Yet, when you see the kinds of wild shots and prayers he was uncorking in this tape, the idea he can dominate this era--remember this is almost TWENTY YEARS AGO--shooting these shots look plain ridiculous.
WILD SHOTS REALLY THESE ARE THE TYPE OF SHOTS MJ TOOK WHEN HE WAS YOUNG ALTHOUGH HE DOESN'T THE SAME ATHLETICISM. KOBE BY THE WAY HAS TAKEN MORE WILD SHOTS. HE HAS 14,500 MISSES WHICH IS THE RECORD FOR MOST MISSES THEREFORE WILD SHOTS AND HE DID IT WHILE HE WAS YOUNG.
Lebroom won't even take this type of shots due to a high degree of difficulty. Leroid only known skill is bulldoze his way to the basket but when he meet players like Andre Iguodala and Kawhi Leonard he couldn't bulldoze his way to the basket and struggled to score inside. Good thing this guys were having injuries that gave Leroid a chance to bulldoze his way to the basket.
