I've never seen a player do more in a playoff series than Jordan in this series. He single handedly destroyed the Knicks pressing defence and then on the defensive end he disrupted their offence. 35.7 points 9.5 rebounds 8.3 assists 2.5 steals and 1.3 blocks and shot 55% for the series. GOAT

The refs should've called Chicago for having 6 players on the floor at once. I could swear I saw two No. 23's out there multiple times that game - Michael was _everywhere_

Is it just me or does the game flow so much better back in the 80s n 90s? Nobody cuts to the basket anymore.

agree the Warriors style of play really influenced the whole league to play this soft Euro-style basketball. I still watch the NBA daily but the 90s was better. I dont really care for the bad boys so much because it was blatant hacking and trying to injure people when people like Laimbeer for example couldnt stay in front of their man, so they had to result to fouling

Different rules now. Used to have illegal defense before so players had to commit to defense or to the double or be penalized. Now players can wander
@getoffthisrocktravel2054
@getoffthisrocktravel2054 5 лет назад
Defense had hand checking illegal moving screens and alot of heavy contact back then. You will notice Jordan was smaller so after this season he hit the gym on a heavy weights program he was tired getting bullied and bashed. He said 3 months on a heavy weights program see how we go......did it for rest of his career with the bulls.

Could not agree more. Much more cutting and teamwork. Now, everybody wants to run behind the three point line or go one-on-one and try to draw fouls. Hence, we get games like we saw in in the game 7 between the Warriors and Rockets a few years ago where the Rockets missed 27 straight three pointers, and had no B-game.
@louisvelez40

You see how versatile he is. He can get those rebounds and assists if he needed to. This was his best overall season of his career. Look how fast and quick he was at both ends. This guy had stamina for days and Michael had not even began to lift weights. But somehow Lebron is better, how?

He aggravated his groin injury the previous game where he only scored 15. His lowest in a playoffs game in his whole career. He averaged 40+ ppg thereafter in the remaining games of this series against the Knicks.

It amazes me how much better he got every year. All the skill in the world, but compare 89 MJ to 91 92 93 Jordan and he’s bigger, deadlier and hungrier to win every season. Then completely switched up his game in 96 to 98 and was still the best player

Yeah, Jodan lost athleticism gradually a bit over time, but he was always adding new moves and learning new things to make himself more dangerous in other ways, incredible. That was his extremely hard work.

This is hands down the best Jordan archive on RU-vid.Thank you for all the hard work you do.I get to relive my youth and also show my son certain aspects of Jordan’s game that get vastly underrated like his passing vision,footwork and rebounding,especially from a SG.This wasn’t even a finished version of Mike which makes the fact that he continued to get better actually scary.

WHY on EVERY Jordan video do people need to bring up Lebron Lebron isnt Jordan (though they do play totally different styles) but just appreciate him now and stop sounding bitter because we will miss him after he retires because none of these new rookies and 1 year players strike me as being top 10 potential

It's all a marketing ploy. That's how they sell the game to this generation. And attaching MJ's name to these stories is STILL their go-to tactic. Because he's STILL their biggest draw. The league KNOWS that this is a prisoner-of-the-moment, latest = greatest, mentality havin' generation, that knows NOTHING about the history of the game past 5 years ago. So they CONSTANTLY use the media to come up with these bogus narratives, that implies that these new guys are just as good (or is better) than MJ, because they know that the current generation DESPERATELY wants one of their own to be better than him. This will drum up interest/ratings in their talk shows and televised games, which translates into big $$$.

@@depannist Facts 💯 Same shit I was about to write. Ppl forget how efficient a passer he was because his scoring ability was so good. I remember when Paxson got injuried and missed a little over a month and MJ had to run the point... The man averaged 11 assists a game during that time and he was just subbing lol. IMAGINE if that were his ACTUAL role!
@NoSheepMentality
@NoSheepMentality Год назад
Mostly career assists average but the triangle offense cut down on his assists. Most people don’t use context with numbers. He’s obviously capable of averaging at least 8 a game over a season as he did it before. 10 triple doubles in 11 games too.

dude at 5:12 MJ should be getting called for a technical foul then on the next 2 plays this highlight reel shows the refs make a BS call on ewing and a questionable foul and goaltending call to boot on the following play as well...the Pistons invented 1 set of Jordan Rules, but the NBA media and refs had another...I dont deny that he was the best, but I dont think its right to tamper with the outcomes of playoff games and championships in an effort to glorify individuals in a team sport.

Every mega super star ( MJ, Kobe, Lebron etc) will get away with a lot more than other players. It’s always been that way. MJ wasn’t the first and he certainly won’t be the last. I agree that MJ should’ve been T’D up but you also have to understand that refs weren’t AS sensitive as today’s officials. There have been many a games in which you see the refs yelling right back at the players lol. It was a different era man

K Steve - oh, you found one example of something. You're so stupid. You've proved nothing except you're a dumbass. Judging highlights is stupidity. It was twice as tough back then and if you knew the differences, you'd see them instantly. But idiots think finding an example of something proves causation which it doesn't obviously. Go back to school and study some basic logic.
@ksteve4042
@ksteve4042 6 лет назад
Boogie Loo I love it, look at the Jordansexual trying to defend the inevitable. This happened alot. I remember Magic saying "if you breathe on Jordan it's a foul" yeah bad boys did him dirty in 87-89, but they changed the rules in Jordans favor in 90-91. Alot of people don't know the history. They only remember what they saw. Also. I remember Wilt saying they changed the rules to help you, but changed the rules to stop me" people just don't do their research. And I'm not saying MJ wasn't the man in his era. He was. But alot of rules changed in the 90s. Including the flagrant fouls. That stems from the bad boys. I can find many examples of tick tack fouls on MJ. Just watch the games to be honest. Now MJ was still one of my favorite players to watch, along with Mahmoud Abdul Rauf, Allen Iverson, Tmac, Penny, Grant Hill prime, but just because a couple fights took place between certain teams. Doesn't mean that era was better. Alot of those dudes wouldn't even be playing with the type of speed, size and athleticism in the league now. Like seriously, what white guy could guard MJ? Like seriously, there were alot of them trying to guard him. But Dumars have him problems, Michael Cooper, Gary Payton have him real probs. And MJ could never shut down Mahmoud Abdul Rauf 6'1 160, Grant Hill, Penny, AI, and many others. Something you have to think about. I can't imagine a Jeff hornacek, Reggie Miller, Dan Majerle, Byron Russell trying to guard LeBron or KD, Harden, Curry, Kyrie, that's BBQ chicken. And y'all know it. Competition matters and Brent Price just doesn't cut it for me.

@ksteve4042
@ksteve4042 6 лет назад
HoustonIsImmortal so the question where was he hit hard? Since Jordan went through hell every game, which I know not to be true, because I watched then like I do now. Y'all idiots are the ones stuck in the nostalgia. Y'all see clips here and there of fights and certain teams fouling hard. And think that was every game. It actually was more rare than every game. And y'all also forget the guys were much slower, smaller and less athletic then. MJ was ahead of his time. As far as athletic ability. But no way Bill Lambier fouling MJ vs Bron would have the same effect. You're talking about a 240 pound guy fouling a 200 pound guy knocking his ass down opposed to a 240 pound guy TRYING to knock down a guy 260+ pound guy that's bigger, stronger, faster, just as quick (even MJ if a little quicker), 40+ vert. Not going to be the same. That's why I don't listen to idiots. I listen to the players that played and the coaches. And taking my college experience and my pro experience and common sense. Bill Lambier said it best. We could knock MJ down, LeBron will not you down. We didn't have a player like that back in our era. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-f1J8SOqAmnA.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Lki7_xUMCVI.html

This is how you prove you are stupid. Everything is relative. The players from Jordan’s era would have the speed, size and athleticism you talk about if they were playing in today’s era. Same thing if you look at it the other way around. Today’s players would be worse athletes 30 years ago. Jordan would be a better athlete today. He would still do what he did 30 years ago. It’s funny when people say rules were changed to help Jordan, because those rules still exist today, which means it is helping current players and it would help Jordan if he were playing today. smh
