9:27 “The clock….the pressure….you block all that out.” Ever since I was a kid, those words have been repeated in my mind during so many difficult moments in life. Pure gold.
Dawg. I remember being 13/14, although it wasn’t in the 90’s I am a MJ die hard from having access to all these movies growing up in the 2000’s. I’m born ‘96. I used to watch this movie the night before EVERY basketball game I had, and I used to only play in retro Jordan’s and so I had the Jordan 5’s. I just remember playing all my games to the soundtracks and trying to copy what I could from him, ahh 😭
Awesome. I first watched this in the summer of 1992, shortly before my 12th birthday. I appreciate it on a much different level now of course - but I still love it!!
The music played when they feature Dumars, would play in my head when I played in my backyard. This VHS vid definitely instilled motivation to work hard.
Me too, man! This video made me a better player, and helped me believe I could make my high-school team. I did, and then made the state team for NSW in Australia. Jordan could motivate anyone I'd they were committed to putting the work in.
That’s insane when you think about it. It was almost as if MJ knew he was going to get a ring the next year or in the near future that not even doing this film would hurt his mindset. Just shows you how good he is.
I love the bit towards the end where Kid says " we were playing basketball and Michael dunked it on me and I felt really bad. Then I saw Michael dance and I feel really good" haha classic 😃👍
This was his first film if im not mistaken. I was looking through his filmography on IMBD, and said whaaaaaat? He directed the movie I watched a million times as a kid lol.
The phenomenal late 80s - 1990s era of the nba was Michaels playground. The dominance that he showed in that era i honestly dont think there will ever be a player that could ever match that 10 year period of complete dominance. He was unbelievable!! God of the nba is Air Jordan no doubt.
Please never take this down, this brings back sentimental memories of my childhood with my dad . We used to watch this movie and super slams of the NBA . Was/ am still a huge Michael jordan fan .
I remember I used to play the hell out this movie when I was in school i play it almost everyday n this is where I learn to play basketball the most by watching this movie n it's paid off too trust me lol 😂😎
I’m 40. First time watching this since roughly 94. Man I was choking up, what the heck 😅😅 it’s like my childhood memories and dreams came flashing back. What a great time 80’s 90’s epic
Every Basketball player knew this was the Holy grail of Basketball. Kobe Bryant used to watch this and study MJ’s moves and antics. It was revealed by TMac
As a kid growing up in the UK with no coverage of the NBA other than magazines, this documovie was my portal into that world. I adored it all. Hearing the commentary, the remarks from the greats .. even the music seemed perfect for it. So great to see it again all these years later.
This video tape change anybody's life that watched it because it changed mine this tape if nothing else showed me one mic was before I even knew who he was
I was a teenager when it came out I bought it on VHS, DVD wasn't around yet. My best friend and I would watch it and then go outside and try to recreate all of MJ's moves and dunks. Jordan is the goat
Man, I needed this Nostalgia. My boy is playing middle school ball. How refreshing to see this and have him watch Next Level Basketball as a kid. The way I did. 💪🏀
93 baby, it's so crazy that I had this on VHS. My dad pass it down to me , and I've watched this MJ doc so many times especially to help me with my confidence when I was younger., I didn't realize I remember when the montages come in, the dialogue, the background music , etc lol This doc is GOATED!
@@2milky3 ru-vid.com/group/PLp2Tz6r4tWFYdq-KhG49UePXQj8jwOry6 this is a playlist of a bunch of soundtracks from various of his docs from way back! You’re welcome 😭
I watched this on VHS so many times as a teenager in the 90's. It helped me make my high-school team and the state team. Thank you for posting the full video.
I like what Durmars said about making a mistake, cuz it's makes you realise that in sport, a single mistake can lead to opponents getting ahead or winning the game.
The billy goat. No stat padding. No flopping. No travelling step backs. No superteaming. No Twitter self-bluster. No laziness on defense. No way no how he'd let JJ Barea lock him up.
The music at 32:48 is symbolizes Jordan’s game. Elegant and beautiful. Literally breathtaking. I’m blessed to be able to witness and see him play in person.
I was at my prime age and was born and lived in Chicago. He's no hail Mary, he's the Mary we can all hail to be. He was the inspiration to any color or any nationality. He was the Elvis to basketball and God will create no other. He was so grateful with the wings under him teaching us patience and respect. I went to the bulls rally and I will never be any concert or any show that ever tops it.
@@bjchaney7422 Play was like 27 in the first House Party, Full Force looked like they had kids in high school. Just like Grease, Stockard Channing was like 35 in that movie lol Full Force was really successful as songwriters too, they wrote hits for some of those popular boy bands
In second grade when lunch recess was rained out we would all be packed into a room with this movie on a VHS player. A sunny day was almost a disappointment no matter how many times we watched this 😂. I grew up on the North Side of Chicago when this all happened. This was so real, it was unreal
