Saying Philadelphia kept him at bay is hilarious considering the Bulls blew out Philadelphia 3 times and in all 3 games Jordan sat out the entire 4th Quarter of games that he was having a good game. "Poor Scottie Pippen had the misfortune of playing with the selfish Michael Jordan??" Scotty had many chances to flourish without Michael but it didn't happen. Especially at only age 32, in the 98-99 season, was brought over to Houston to LEAD them to a championship. Here was Scotty's chance to play on a championship contender, without Michael, and lead them since Hakeem and Barkley were already 36 and 35 respectively, But even tho Pippin was still young, he only averaged 14 PPG shooting 42% from the field that season getting near swept in the first round of the playoffs.

And as far as Barkley being lazy, he averaged more PPG and RPG then Scotty with a much better FG%. So even with Charles being far older, and apparently far lazier, He was more effective on Houston. Well sorry Pippin, I guess growing up poor with 27 brothers and sisters in Hamburger, Arkansas must have messed with your confidence. I don't think it mattered where Scotty would have went,

you can hold 94 and 95 against Pippen but not really 99. His health was cooked by then, especially his back which he injured a decade before and would hound him the rest of his career. They were by no means a contender in 1999.

14:27 - keeping in mind during the Bulls' first 3-peat the Rockets had a 5-1 record against Chicago. Jordan was the high scorer for most of those games, but the defense of the Rockets was such that every other Bulls player struggled. I don't understand why these videos of individual comparison of a team sport have any relevance. I'm so grateful I grew up in the era that didn't have social media. It allowed me to appreciate the opportunity to witness all of the great players and teams without any concerns about who was the greatest of all time. MJ is just like all of the great players that came before him. They got their butts kicked until they reached that point of time for them to experience winning championships. From individual perspectives the only two players that went into the NBA and instantly became focal points for their teams success of making it to the finals and winning as a rookie were Magic and Bird. Of course we know Magic not only won the championship but also Finals MVP. Larry Bird actually won rookie of the year that season over Magic. I don't appreciate the GOAT discussion or the constant videos of MJ and LeBron being the greatest of all time. Especially when people are disrespecting all of the great players and most of all the great teams that paved the way for MJ to even have an opportunity to showcase his talents. The same goes for LeBron. Here's a point from history that encouraged my prior comments. Had the ABA maintained it's league, where would the NBA be today. Prior to the merge between the ABA and the NBA ticket sales were very low for the NBA. People were more interested in watching the ABA because of Dr.J The increased notoriety of the ABA and the public's desire to witness such high flying dunks forced the NBA into the merge. I'm sure the lack of financial capabilities and television contracts or connections by the ABA played just as much a role in the merge also. That's why it's so disappointing to me when I see these GOAT debates because many great players had their personal stamp on this game in numerous ways. Dr.J is a very significant reason why the merge happened and the NBA was transitioning into something great. Magic and Bird came along and enhanced that. Then MJ came along and took it to higher heights than ever before. Then LeBron comes along and exceeds all expectations and continues what MJ had already improved. The torch continues to be passed so who f.....g cares about who is the GOAT

@@johnsalchak3498 Not preposterous my man as I have Russell at number 2! Yes, you can't just count rings like Robert Horry and his seven chips. But, if you put Wilt on the Celtics back then, no way he would have won 11. He was just to immature and not the best leader. He would have won 4 or 6 or something like that. But if you put Russell on Wilt's Sixers, Warriors, and Lakers teams, he would have squeezed out more than 2 and would have had 4 or 5 imo. So yes, the Celts were loaded. But Russell had leadership and a clutch playoff playing style that Wilt just couldn't keep up with. Russell was 10-0 in game 7s for his career! You just don't do that by lucking into a great team.

Its really easy the greatest players with good teams got the best of him early and late in his career which is how it goes.

I did enjoy the comparisons but the team vs team records are irrelevant. You can’t compare 5 hall of fame Celtics against MJ by himself and give it a win for Bird. It was never just Larry. That’s absurd. Also Prime Kobe and Shaq against MJ’s Wizards? We really going to take the those wizards losses as MJ losses? Aside from that it was fun to see what the top 75 players did against each others teams while playing against each other.
