It is failure when they all resulted in humiliating losses to the same team . I dont know you can sit there and be content with having lost to the same tean in the alcs three times. You are part of the problen
@@fernandoposada5440 I agree. Fat payroll, never really a threat to win, no pennants, no real effort to fix the problems and build a team that can beat top pitching, which is what it takes to win titles.
Yeah but who are they rebuilding with? They’ve got Judge, Cole, and Stanton on this roster who aren’t going anywhere and are over 30. Volpe, Peraza, and Dominguez but I don’t know. Cashman kind of set them up badly if they want to do a 2-3 year rebuild this year.
He (Hal)should sell while billionaires still wanna buy a sports franchise …he could get 10 bill- that more than 20 years of revenue…His interests inNYY are financial, Yanks are#1 in AL in attendance n merchandising, why would Hal fire Cashman, by Hal s criteria Cash is doing anEXEMPLARY job…hence the 4 yr extension.
The Yankees have been living off of their past achievements for a long time. Always talking about legends this and legends that ... and using that to charge some of the highest ticket prices in MLB. And why are the Yankees always bragging that they are a championship caliber team? What does that even mean? If they haven't won a championship, they aren't champions of anything. They haven't earned the right to use that word. The only thing the Yankees consistently lead the Major Leagues in is injuries, and you don't get any trophys for that.
Kay absolutely sucks. There are no redeeming qualities to the current state of this franchise. Top to bottom, from Steinbrenner to the people working the concession stands that move like they’re on a death march and you miss 3 innings of the game waiting.
Don is a diehard Yankee fan behind the scene. He is the only person that will say exactly what we the fans think and know what is going on in this organization.
@@dont_panic____4959 so when U said Don.. U didn't mean Lagreca...? Yeah it s an opaque Thread at best.. Could be better... And it s silly Any professional knows an employee of a company can only go so far knocking the employers.. Even if U are a reporter
His whole argument was fraudulent. He's saying we should be happy there're 17-15 while running out this lineup. But that's not true. They were 13-7 before judge and Stanton got hurt and are actually 4-7 while running out this lineup. If they dont get healthy I wonder if yankee boy will still be impressed with the record in a month from now.
@@jimboscooter432, 17-15 and playing with a bad lineup. Two superstars out of the lineup and your 2nd and 3rd pitchers are on the IL. So yes, they are very fortunate to be 2 games over .500 and arguably your best reliever is out till late summer. If they can take 2 of 3 from the Rays they would be happy with that.
@@jamesdime6865 I don't think you understood what I said. They're not 17-15 with this lineup there're under .500 with this lineup and if they have to keep running it out there they won't be over. 500 for much longer
@@jimboscooter432 If (BIG IF) the Yankees limp into the playoffs and immediately get eliminated, the Yankees (and their media propagandists) will consider the season a success. That's how low the Yankee standards have become under little Stein, Cashman, and Boone.
Who is bad every time they put him in……Holmes !!! Who keeps running him out in key situation…. Boone…..how hard is it to see the decisions he makes are always wrong?
I can't defend Kay. He's a good play-by-play man but he's not good at sports talk. He does not separate himself from his employers. He can't be trusted to be critical and completely honest when it comes to the Yankees.
When your team can’t bunt, communicate in the outfield, run the bases, all of which don’t depend on an opposing pitcher making a mistake, there are some real problems with the basic basics part of playing baseball. I’m not certain how involved Brian Cashman is in that department. Aaron Boone is the natural target. “Situational Baseball” is not part of the Yankees playbook. It needs to be.
This is right. Cashman knows enough fans will be happy with just making the playoffs so he insults the rest of us by keeping a subpar manager and coaches, making ridiculous deals (like the Donaldson mess), acquiring damaged goods like Rodon and Montas, accepting lousy conditioning, and making excuses for mediocre performance. Taking responsibility isn’t just saying those words.
Big guns? Last year Stanton hit like .210, Donaldson .220, Rizzo alil over .220…and forget ‘Hicks ie’ and ‘Trevi’in 2nd half , like .140 And once again their gonna use injuries as to why their 10 games out on May 5… Enough
Has Michael actually polled fans to see if they would be against a total rebuild? He says it constantly as if it’s a law of nature. I would 100% be onboard if they fired Cashman tomorrow and told us give us 3-4 years to turn over this team. Boston fans accept it. Why? Because it fucking works. Would it suck to waste some prime Judge years? Yes, but at the same time, he can be the draw during those lean years and then we can get him a title near the end of his career. Nothing is automatic, but it seems way less crazy than doing this same old song and dance year after year after year after year.
Michael wrapped it up perfectly… he’s not going to rag on the Yankees because he’s employed by them. Peter is entirely right, Michael “yankee-slains” 😂😂
I understand if you wanna dump on Kay. It is true that there’s a lot of frustration. But in this case I feel Kay has explained himself. I think the fans who hate him now want him to be a representative for their feelings towards Cashman. Cashman has made some bum deals of late. This is true. But you have to be objective and assess each deal on its own without letting your emotions into it…or finding a scapegoat sacrifice…who in this instance is Kay.
All I'm saying is it really hard to make the playoffs with almost a 300 million payroll while Tampa makes the WS sometimes with a 80 million payroll. Yankees are ran by a bunch of idiots and the fans are sick and tired of it. When the Knicks look better than the Yankees, we have a MAJOR PROBLEM.
Fans need to chant fired Kay too.... this man is so company man.... Cashman have not build S..... All the big FA didn't like to do business with him, and George had to step in constantly.... Hal had to do the same with Judge, Cole, and Rodon.... we haven't win a Championship sinse 09... but at the same time, haven't built a good farm system... because people talks about the Dodge, but they have lost but builded a farm system that can just play with all those prospects and have a really good team... Holmes is a 6th inning pitcher now King is the real closer and we dont use him as cloer
You’d take the dough and Have Yankee blue on ur nose…don’t be fake He s doin his job ,being professionally critical …his fan days ended on the D Train @ Fordham Rd
Ok u talk big w ur whatever k job ,while dude s making Millions, all because he got the color man s chair w Sterling, then got the big call , play by play TV…he s won Emmys for his bio show, Has a drive time talk show on ESPN and now is doing Kay Rod on nat TV for Fox…all because Yanks gave him a chance and showed trust. I’ve heard slam Yanks many many times and question org s direction. It s our job as fans who SPEND the $ to outrageously slam Cash for the crappy job he s doing since he fired Girardi..and Boone s a data muppet
Kay is such a propaganda artist. The 3-2 loss was 110% Boone’s fault. Every person in the stadium knew it was wrong to pull German for Holmes. Stop defending Boone for horrendous bullpen management. He’s holding his tongue because the Yankees cut his check, I wish he’d just say exactly what he feels.
They Yankees barely won two games against a Cleveland team that is worse offensively (and otherwise) than they are. BIG DEAL !!! The reason the Yankees are in this mess is because Cashman trades and acquires players with injury histories. Cashman and weak-kneed Boone need to go. You BSers never talk about the Yankees revenue and profits...only the payroll. You are purposely disingenuous because revenue, profits, and payroll are inextricably related.
Boston has turned over their team several times. They’ve had to swallow several losing seasons. You know what else they got? Four championships in the last 20 years. I 100% would take a few 60-70 win seasons if it meant we got some championships sprinkled around. A 105 win season where they lose in the ALCS is the same as a 65 win season as far as I’m concerned.
Starting pitching has been a problem too . I dont care how good an offense is , you are not going far in the playoffs when 4 of your starters have eras north of 4 .
No, Michael, you’re totally wrong. Boone is a bad manager. He’s lousy with pitchers and he’s a rotten coach in terms of fixing problems. He also picks a rotten coaching staff and he has a role in picking the roster. Cashman isn’t operating in a vacuum. He gets input from Boone.
Kay works for Cashman and walks the tightrope. That being said, Cashman was smart doing it in the dugout, he was also smart blaming himself, his job is secure. By blaming himself, he gives the press no where to go.
it comes down to this, Clay Holmes is not a closer. Boone refuses to see that and two players got hurt as butterfly effect and we almost lost 2 games because of his bone headedness
I was at the game last night and it wasn't the entire crowd chanting fire Boone, it was the bleacher creatures chanting like it was part of the roll call.
I’m going to be the first one that I’ve seen to say it… The Rodon signing was a Bad move. The guy has a history of not being able to stay healthy and our biggest need was an outfielder which we didn’t even bother to try to find in the off-season. How is that possible? How do we get knocked out two years in a row because of a terrible offense And not try to make any sort of improvement whatsoever? Mind boggling that our GM got an extension instead of a pink slip
They had no choice but to sign rodon after passing on castillo not once but twice and then trading almost all of the starting pitching depth for 2 injured players
Technically the Yankees could have had Gunnar Henderson. We had two picks I believe before he was taken so while I understand the point of not getting high draft picks, I don’t think that’s the problem
Im shocked I'm so firmly in between the people saying, "be happy with a record over .500 everything is fine its early in the season etc." and the people screaming, "Raze it all, burn it all to the ground, fire everyone, the owner, the GM, the front office, the manager, the team, the broadcasters, get rid of everybody". Im huge on the idea of getting rid of Cash and was shocked when he was resigned. He was resigned before the season was over despite the official announcement not coming out until the end of the season last year. He spends way too much on facelifts and way too little on roster construction.
Every team has injuries but this is happening every season for the past 5 years. It's not bad luck its because these players are not durable and Cashman keeps acquiring players that are injury prone.
Just PRAY Judge’s hip is not a recurring injury! The way the season is going, and the way the team looks, if he hurts it again, it might be wise to shut him down for the year, and give it every chance to heal.
Anthony was right about everything he said and it’s sad that he was right but Michael K has no authority anymore with the Yankees and my entire life. Michael K was the voice of the Yankees but he’s quite literally worthless now. And you could argue fairly for teams don’t make decisions based on what the fans think, but I fucking promise you the Yankees would be in a better position right now, if the fans voted on every decision that was made, and the majority decision want, and that’s just the honest truth.
FIRE CASHMAN!!! BAD CONTRACTS. (Only 9 back). Wake the F up Michael. If George was a live Cashman and Boone would have been F-ing long gone. .500 ball is the acceptance of mediocrity. Jeter: "You play to win, that's all".
George being handcuffed is the reason the 90s dynasty happened. Steinbrenner assisted in the late 70s, nothing else. His decisions lead to a dead period and then stick michael put the 90s team together. George would've traded Jeter and Rivera
@@scottv8124 I agree. Sabian, Watson, and Michaels acquired the five player core that led the Yankees to the greats teams in the 90’s and the 2009 nine Series win. With the loss of Williams occurring before that. But 2009 only happened because they spent half a billion dollars. Which is fine with me.
For the most part this isn't on the pitchers! It's on the hitters! When you barely score 2 runs a game you're not going to win much games. Yes the pitching has been inconsistent aside from Cole but this is more on the offense than their pitching!
These guys are right about the guys playing now but Boone and cashman need to go Boone he is a terrible manager the other night he blew the game taking Domingo out Holmes sucks
@@snerdterguson they are not close to being a championship team. They’re built to beat mediocre teams and to make the playoffs but they’re never really competitive. Zero pennants in over a decade. With one of the highest payrolls
This teams offense is poorly constructed even when they are healthy. They should have addressed the lack of hitting. They brought back Judge and Rizzo but did nothing else.
Love Kay but he criticized Boone with his pitching management against the Astros last year. If he can't manage in the playoffs why should he be the manager in the first place. Kay rips the guy in the postseason then praises him and says he's done nothing wrong. Wtf???
Cause the postseason was last year and April is this year? What's so hard to understand? He praised Boone for keeping the team where it is this year given how everything has gone so far.
Cash s analytics are wrong ones…launch angle, velo rate, Hrs w a lot K ‘s , slider spin rate emphasis… Sonny Gray wasn’t a slider pitcher, was a great curveball guy, Cash forced him into throwing way more sliders…disastrous results…soon as he left Yanks he pitched well again same w Lyn

MIchael says it's too hard to win a world series these days bc there are "too many layers too the playoffs". He's purposely avoiding the fact that those extra layers are the only way the Yankees even make the playoffs half the time. Without those "extra layers" the Yankees are watching from their living rooms. He is not making good faith arguments here. He is literally just defending the guy who writes his paycheck. This was hard to listen to. OMG Michael is now DMing people on Twitter?!?! 😑
Kay said some real shit that you gotta respect "They want me to rip Cashman so hard that I get fired, Sorry pal that ain't happening" any Yankee fan or non Yankee fan has to atleast respect that honesty.
Kay just proved what we have all been saying - no matter how bad Yankees management or ownership is, he's not gonna go after them. That's all we've been saying about Michael, he holds the Yankees water...
@@anadraham2995 He does go after them he's just not gonna call for the guys job... Which I think is fair. You can criticize a guy and not call for his job because you have a little bias. We all have bias in our life why should we look for radio hosts to be any different
Don gets it, Michael doesn’t. I knows he denies it but Michael is so jaded because the Yankees pay him and Don looks at it objectively. This team is made up horribly and everyone that is injured is always injured so it’s not a surprise. This is all on Cashman, all of it. We can hold players accountable if they’re good players. Most of our team right now are AAA players so they can’t help it if they aren’t good. I I wish someone would hold our GM accountable for once
Let me get this right Kay. You think that Boone chewing gum, leaning on the rail or steps all game, game after game with absolutely no emotion, never smiles never claps his hands, never seen talking to a player struggling to pump them up, never does anything but sulk, and mope around, you think the team does not act exactly like him unless one of them hits a home run or gets a GWH? The team is the manager and Boone is a mope with no energy shown. Cashman should go and so Boone becomes collateral damage. SEEEE YA! to both.
None of that BS matters , what matters is w 2 out in the 9th he takes out a reliever that is mowing em down to bring in Holmes... What does matter is he puts IKF in LF not CF where he also looks green but at least has played there a few games No Boone puts IKF in LF where he hasn't a clue(not his fault) and he smashes into 2 Games back off IL Harrison Bader and get s him injured That's what bad MGMT does.
