I disagree. Batman was the identity he created to protect the scared, traumatized child who witnessed his parents murder. Batman is this unshakeable force of nature in the first Keaton Batman, he just goes into situations with no fear. But it is clear as Bruce Wayne he is a little unhinged, uncertain. I think this makes him so much more interesting, and the fact that it doesn't really skirt the issue that he is not Batman as some altruistic thing, but to never feel like that scared little boy ever again, and to inflict that fear he felt on the kind of people who did it to him. Not because he is altruistic. Because he is traumatized.
@Hudson Smachetti Better than Keaton? You're objectively wrong. Some people genuinely believe that AvP is better than the original Predator... Everyone is entitled to their wrong opinion.
Pretty much, claimed he wants a jacked batman but says Affleck was the worst. Apparently he never even looked up a picture of Ben in Batman vs Superman. He got jacked for the role and is the largest build out of all the people who have played batman.
@@bradmiles1984 yeh they claimed the skinny, dorky believable-millionaire guy was the best, but then he says he wants a jacked one....he must have been high off his ass
These guys aren’t even real friends. They asked the algorithm which guests in which order would make them some Money- then they asked which topics to discuss. It’s painfully mainstream and boring - we get it. You all go to the store. And space is wild. And DMT and aliens and lockdowns. SHUTTTT UPPP. JUST TALK ABOUT HOW TONY FUCKS 18 YR OLD GIRL OFF TINDER IN EACH TOWN HE GOES TO. I THINK HES MARRIED TOO? That would at least be slightly listenable to
Aaaah! I really didn't see this comment when I brought up Mr Mom! He totally didn't realize he meant Mr Mom when he guessed Mr Big! Man I miss the 80's.
Everything about Keatons version of Batman was the best to date. He was a natural fit for that role despite being less physically intimidating than the other batman's. You can see that intensity in his eyes yet kept composed throughout. Nobody is going to convince me that Keaton isn't the best depiction of Batman
Right, I hate to say it but it came off boomerish.... but isn’t batman a boomer thing? Or does the character always just belong to the generation most recent to be interested?
I’ve never seen two people say so many wrong things in such a short amount of time in my life. This was like two grandmothers talking about pop culture on an SNL sketch
I love Jack, but he was a terrible Joker IMO, too rigid, not wacky or crazy enough, and that horrible prosthetic smile was one of the worst ideas since painting over César Romero's mustache with white paint. Ledger and Juaquin were the best for me.
@@demonicsweaters I have the exact opposite opinion. Nicholson is the best to me. To me, he was a lot wackier than Ledger. His whole performance was wackier than Ledger's. On purpose, because Ledger's Joker was supposed to me more serious, considering the tone of that trilogy. I also think Nicholson's Joker was quite crazy. I liked Joaquin's Joker and Cesar Romero's Joker, but for this guy, no one has topped Nicholson's Joker, live-action-wise.
Adam West was charming and funny and I love Keaton and Bale the most in live action, Ben had the most badass live action fights, & curious to see what Robert does, But Kevin Conroy will always be the GOAT DEFINITIVE Batman lmao its crazy how when ya read a comic ya hear his voice, or watch a cartoon or play a video game & he's more than likely the voice they got cause He added so much to Role. Nothin but respect to that man.
Seriously. They’re nuts. Lol And what about frickin VAL KILMER?! Gtfoh! 😂😂 Affleck LOOKED like Bruce Wayne. He’s intimidating physically and really LOOKS like a business mogul. Hey everybody’s entitled to their opinion but...they’re wrong. lol
I think the clooney movie itself was worse, but i would rather watch his movie for his acting over Ben's acting XD Hes not a bad actor, but like Joe said, he's just not Batman. I dunno what it is, maybe it was the writing (it certainly didnt help) but the guy just doesnt know how to 'act' batman. At least Clooney was charming and charismatic as Batman and Bruce.
There is gonna multiple Batman in the flash point movie. It deals with multiple universes so there for ur gonna have multiple Batman played by different actors
I'm kind of an Affleck hater and thought it was going to be a disaster. After seeing the movie I was pleasantly surprised and even dislike Affleck slightly less. Clooney and Kilmer are way worse. That being said it still wasn't very good hahaha. The Dark Night trilogy is by far the best batman series but Keaton still takes the best batman cake.
Debatable on certain things. Burton Gotham destroys Nolan (praise to Anton Furst for his staggering designs), Burton Batmobile DESTROYS every other batmobile by a mile, Danny Elfman Batman music is better than any other. So all those from the Burton films go in Keaton eras favour. That's before any actors, cinematography etc. Tbh I adore both, but in those categories Nolans trilogy gets stomped and it's not close. Keaton is my fave Batman but if you chose Bale I have respect for it. Same for Jokers. Both are elite level for different aspects though. Never one or the other. The true answer is always BOTH.
@@chrischapman7026 Been feeling the exact same. Don't know what it is. Like I've tried a few on spotify but it doesn't feel the same. And I like reading the comments on podcasts. Can't do that anymore watching it. And nobody I knows watches anymore since it's on spotify, so we don't talk about Joe anymore. For someone we were all so fond of for so long, he fell out our lives quick.
All I can say is that I saw Batman when I was about 10 in 1989 and he was my generation’s Batman growing up like Christopher Reeve was Superman. Michael Keaton is the greatest to me and it was dark and gloomy typical to Tim Burton’s style of directing. It was and still is a masterpiece of a film.
@@Deadmanundertaker100 Well, it took me a year to find this video. I don't tend to search for videos that corroborate what I already know 😁👍. It just randomly appeared on my feed.
@@sideskroll it doesn’t make a difference what you already “know” as most people will agree that Keaton was and is great in the role. It’s great that we can agree on that. 👍
@zak to be fair it makes a lot of sense that his career would be under the shadow of everyone remembering his breakout laughably shitty role, but yeah he got skillz dawg
A bit painful though. Affleck was good at Batman, just not as Bruce Wayne. It was more that the movies sucked because of Zack Snyder. And Pattinson deserves a chance, we haven't even seen him yet. And Keaton's Batman didn't have that fake voice. And the Batman TV show was intended to be a comedy. And...
Michael Keaton was ok as maybe one THIRD of the character. "Batman" is three parts. The real somber Bruce, the fake partyguy Bruce, and the bat vigilante... You can't say that he was good at all three. Not even close to as good as Bale.
That's comic book batman. Burton had a vision. And it was the best version. Soundtrack, cinematography, and tone. Even Nolan didn't make a world. Just used the one we have. And retunes is my favourite Christmas movie so I'm hugely biased lol
@@deadlegs187 Burton's Batman wantonly murders criminals and he contrived a silly revenge motive, with the Joker having killed his parents... Nolan made one hell of a world, in the Narrows that were completely built in a giant hangar and filmed from afar as miniatures. Granted, he moved further and further away from that detail with the subsequent films... but Batman Begins was perfect, in that regard. You said a lot about the films, but nothing about the character of Bruce Wayne/Batman lol. Batman Returns is weird, since Bruce isn't even the Scrooge in his own Christmas Carol. I didn't really appreciate the way that none of the villains have anything to do with any aspect of his character, or how he doesn't develop an arc. There's maybe 20 minutes worth of a good Catwoman movie in there, but everything else felt half-cooked to me.
@@raynwolfsbane2084 yeah man he was also stunt man in Daredevil and had a small role/part in wild wild west a fight scene on the mechanical spider he had swords for hands !! as well as many other parts in other movies...
Tony Hinchcliffe would be awesome in a Batman movie, if they ever develop a character called the Fruit Bat. His superpower would be the ability to convince others he likes women.
If you were fighting cops and criminals you would be more likely to just drop a bomb like Michael Keaton and smile. Much more believable human behavior from Michael Keaton everybody else just acts like they're smarter than everybody else. Plus Ben Affleck's Batman dodges a Kryptonian laser with a grapple hook. BS.
“People were reluctant to have Michael Keaton as Batman.” “That’s the guy from twilight, that’s not Batman.” I’m not saying it’s gonna be the best but he’s a pretty damn good actor
@@pedrotenoriomendes Seems like he has gained some muscle. In his press for Tenet, he looks much bigger than he was a year ago. Truthfully it doesn't really matter how big he is, since the suit will do much of the work for him, like all the other guys. Plus, look at Christian Bale just before Batman Begins, when he was in the Machinist.
He’s a great actor (Twilight guy), but he refused to workout to be a superhero. In my eyes, he’ll always be the Twinkie from twilight who’s face looks like he farted and enjoys the smell.
When I was a little kid I used to watch the Adam West Batman with my mom and we called it the "bang pow whack show" just because of those cards that would pop up every time someone got punched, 🤣
Nobody ever mentions how amazing Michelle Pfeiffer was as Catwoman. Every time I see her doing that role, I'm like: Holy shit. She's amazing. I guess that's off topic though.
Im probably the one person that actually likes Ben Affleck’s Batman. He fit the build, and he played a great Bruce Wayne. People forget about that. Bruce Wayne is a brooding, suave, powerful billionaire. He’s also a loner. I think Ben was perfect. Look past the fact he’s “Ben Affleck”, and look at his acting. He actually did a good job. People remember him as goofy, but if you look at movies like The Town, or The Accountant he can actually play serious roles. Batman fights super powered villains, and he’s just a man. He’s suppose to be buff. Im glad theyre keeping Affleck.
Yes ! And also , why not some kind of an adaptation of the "Dark knight returns" with Keaton's Berman?! I think it would be fantastic, Michael Keaton is fit ,healthy, he would nail it.
Affleck has done plenty to loathe him for, and Clooney and Kilmer have plenty of good acting roles, but they were both worse at being Batman than Affleck. Bale would have been my favorite Batman if not for his silly DMX/Everlast/Ja Rule/Cookie Monster voice. So for me, it's Keaton, Bale, Affleck, Kilmer, Clooney, in that order.
@@ray817oneDEEP I love all things Batman related, but even as a kid I thought Adam West's Batman was too goofy and hard to take serious. No disrespect to the legend.
1. You forgot Clooney, definitely the worst batman on scene but that could be more so the movie being awful 2. Affleck wasn’t entirely awful in the Batman scenes in the movie batman v superman 3. Pattinson is a crazy good actor in a bunch of movies he’s been in recently, he’s got huge potential. I do like what Bale done in his trilogy
I first come to know Michael Keaton in the movie "Night Shift" with Henry Winkler, he was so funny in that movie I knew he was destined for more. One of my more favorites was "Multiplicity".
Let’s just look at this objectively. Take Micheal Keaton and put him in the Batman movies of today. If he was in the modern movies with the stories and how good the special effects are he could really be the best Batman. I have seen every Batman in the theatre as well (definitely one of the greatest fictional characters of all time) also one of the best things about him was he never overdid the character, whereas every other actor that has done that role has tried way too hard. His subtlety when he played the role was very commendable.
Dude Christian Bale. Apart from the nostalgia from being a teenager when batman returns came out, Michael Keating will always be the police chief from the other guys
Believable Batman: Bale Best fighting Batman: Affleck Best classic Batman: Keaton Worst Batman: Clooney The Batman looks very promising from the 30% of film they put out as a trailer.
Actually the comics in the 1930s and 1940s were dark Then in the 1950s the comics became more kid friendly. The 1966 TV show was specifically a spoof That was done on purpose The idea with the 1989 Michael Keaton Batman was to go back to something closer to the original version of Batman for the 50th anniversary of Batman. They specifically did not have a Robin in that movie because in the original comics there was no Robin. Then in 1992 there was the sequel Batman returns also with Michael Keaton. In 1995 Batman got recast and Val Kilmer played Batman That movie had more of a wider audience since it included Tommy Lee Jones, Nicole Kidman, Chris O’Donnell, and Jim Carrey. Then in 1997 they did a camp version With the Batman and robin movie. When the Christopher Nolan Batman‘s came out, The idea was to make a more realistic Batman, The Christopher Nolan Batman has very little to do with the comic book version of Batman. The idea was if there was a multibillionaire what kind of equipment and what would he have to do in order to actually be Batman? Now with the Ben Affleck version of Batman you have sort of a combination of the Christopher Nolan version of Batman with the comic book version of Batman.
Batman makes more sense as a middle aged man fighting against a rotting society while also fighting the effects of natural aging. It was always a mid life crisis story.
Wrote the same thing few minutes ago , it would be beyond fantastic! But not batman beyond😂😂😂 but a 3rd Burton movie based on the "Dark knight returns" with Keaton as Batman. Yes ,yes and yes !!!! Sing me up !
Makes a good point there. Keaton was a good Bruce Wayne too. When you're watching the Bruce Wayne scenes and aren't impatiently saying to yourself 'come on... when does he put on the suit?', that's when you know.
The version that Affleck played was instantly my favorite. However, it's really unfair to compare all of them. All of them had different styles, direction, and visions.
