@@professorfinesser4322 they have been bad for a couple seasons. That isn’t permanent nor is it typical for USF, get over that. They are on the way up again. We just added a team that won literally 0 football games not even a decade ago anyway

@@BrainstormSports and when they won 0 games you wouldn't be here touting them as Big 12 material, but here you go doing that for a 1 win team. You're in fact diluting the perception of the conference that they just accept any and everybody. You would never catch the SEC or B1G doing that.

@@professorfinesser4322 they had their first 1-win season in school history and it happened at the same time they as their worst coach ever, and toughest schedule ever. Every program goes through this at some point, and it’s not typical for USF. They ended up firing their coach and have been recruiting well since.

Almost took down Florida last year and Alabama this year with their absolutely worst teams, big 12 needs to pick these studs up!!

@Tom Allen it doesn't matter less than 40,000 is way to small for a modern stadium and to small for the big12 actually its literally too little too late for usf at this point

And they were 21-4 just before that 🤷🏻‍♂️. USF made back to back bad hires that really hurt them recently, but they’ll get back on track, especially if they are in a better conference. Whether they win or not, Tampa is a top media market and one of the best areas for high school football in the country. What conference doesn’t want to add a recruiting hotbed and huge (and growing) market?

From 2016-2018, USF was 29-9 - then they went 7-0 to start 2019 before the wheels came off. So they put together a run over almost four years of 36-9. The idea that they’re going to struggle forever like they have the past couple of seasons is shortsighted, to say the least.

They’re a program in a big market, with excellent academics, and great potential. They’re young (less than 30 years playing football) and they don’t have a long list of athletic accomplishments, but they do have a number of built-in pluses that - if realized - would make them a serious asset to a conference. NO ONE less than a decade ago would have looked at UCF and argued that they were worth adding. Their recent history made them a fit. So, yes, if you add USF, you’re betting on them reaching their potential. Or you can wait. If they continue to struggle, you made the right call. If they get it turned around, they may be attractive somewhere else. Is it a risk? I guess. Do you take the risk? I think it might be worth it. That’s just an objective look. You see it differently. And, of course, if you have a specific rooting interest, you won’t allow yourself to agree.

Really use over Memphis usfs new stadium won't even hold 40,000 people and uconn adds nothing big12 shouldn't be adding more G5 schools period

@@kirkmoody6109 UConn is not a g5 school and has a boat load of money. They are arguably the best basketball program in the last two decades and have a football program that can rise to the occasion. Big12 should be looking to attack pac-12 teams

That’s not true. They have only been in a G5 conference for 9 years. They were in a power conference before the AAC

People keep saying stuff like "fertile recruiting base." Yeah, it is. For Georgia, Alabama, Florida, Miami, Auburn, Florida State. Most of those blue chips are picking one of those schools over USF.

Before the two bad coaching hires, they were 21-4 over the previous two years (2016 &2017). Oviedo Community College has had two winless seasons in the past 20 years.
