I admire Michael’s confidence in the positions he holds . Comes across as arrogant in a lot of people but Michael clearly has put his money where his mouth is by putting in a lot of work and I imagine the vast majority of his knowledge comes from literature and not watching 5 min YT vids like a lot of us armchair sociologists do 😉

Sociology is wrapped in so many conflicts of theory and has yet to establish fundamentals that are largely agreed upon so it'd make sense that people would have conflicting ideas of how sociology should be applied. Doesn't mean people aren't valid in their opinions just because they use RU-vid as a medium. Maybe not 5 minute videos but I can watch psychology and sociology lectures from Stanford on RU-vid as well as A.I lectures from M.I.T. Anyone who thinks they are against anarchy and yet are willing to allow government to have a monopoly on all criminal activity is very lost. Monopoly on anything is always bad. If the government continues to turn on the people as they are doing now you will soon see very clearly that the positives of anarchy far outweight the negatives. Anarchy is essentially choice. Do we have stats about that? Because I suspect post-tyranny embellishment of recent history, in order to avoid revenge against public servants. A bit like what we had in France, where according to common knowledge, many gendarmes supposedly joined one of the resistance networks. Except there wasn't that many according to the stats, and most defected only after D-Day... This legend (among many others covering this period of French history) was wanted by De Gaulle I think, in order to avoid the people seeking revenge against the police forces which in reality collaborated massively (and sometimes needlessly, even) with the Germans. It even evolved into a "joke" stating that everyone in France was a resistant during the occupation ! I'm not saying that's the case for sure, but I can imagine the same practice happening in USSR.

I think anarchy is a topic worth looking into, but mr. Malice is clearly following Rothbard and Rand school of thought (that i find not very convincing since it is a moral justification for something very different from our system)... If you want to look at the other point of view i suggest looking into David Friedman and his Economic justification for anarchy (which i find far more convincing and interesting)... Maybe even invite him on to talk? finger crossed!!

1. Rand was not an anarchist which you seem to imply even though Malice himself is both a Randian and anarchist. 2. Friedman's justification is also a moral one- his is a consequentialist justification, Rothbard's is predicated on what he saw as the moral law.
@matteopastrello4535

@@chernobylcoleslaw6698 You are correct saying that Rand was not an anarchist, but her "Objectivism" as she called it, was a (in my opinion wrong) way to solve the Hume problem of is-ought, and many anarchist (mr Malice too) use the same approach to justify anarchism. Rothbard in many ways tried to do the same thing with his "Natural Law" paving the ground to an ethic defence of anarco-Capitalism. but you're wrong saying that Friedman's defence of anarco-capitalism is based on ethics; in fact (even on his own website) he describe how in his view Rand's is-ought solution and Rothbard natural law are inconsistent and self-referencial. he then proceed to say that himself follows moral rules and that they are very similar to Rand's one (Consequentialist as you pointed out) but since he cannot find any argument to dismiss moral-relativism (or moral-nihilism as he calls it) he cannot and doesn't base his theory of anarco-capitalism on ethics, but only on economics. I agree with him that over the decades the US has become more & more dysfunctional & oppressive towards its citizens. I can only conclude that if a group of citizens aligned with M.M's views attempt substantial economic & political reforms there will be civil or tribal warfare with a strong possibility of nuclear weapon use if one side thinks they are losing...The US military has a cache of N weapons that could be used in such a scenario...
