They faced each other twice - once in R2 and the other in conso semis. Mendez looked overall great at the tourney with that 6th place finish at a stacked weight.

Unfortunately, he doesn't have any elegability left. I remember watching him win a state title in 2015, and it's awesome to see him accomplish as much as he did. If he beat RBY, I feel like he would've given Vito a tougher finals match.
