SUBSCRIBE FOR MORE CELEB INTERVIEWS! Emmy-Winner Jake Hamilton talks with Nick Castle, the original Michael Myers, about the 1978 horror masterpiece HALLOWEEN.
Chris Evans movie cast now that new one is good news video so you on that day is wow halleeow cool how you on this one and it is good news and you just do that first thing tomorrow morning my people happy now that new one is
the one scene from the original 1978 halloween movie that even today this day still makes me jump and scares me. is that car scene in the garage where annie goes to it. tries to open the door. realises its locked. so she goes back to get her car keys.. then when she gets back to the car.. she forgets to put the keys into the car door and instead just opens it up.. gets in.. then notices all of her car windows covered in condensation and then bam.. out of nowhere michael appears in the back grabs and holds her then cuts her neck. that scene even now still makes me jump. even though i have watched the movie at least probably 10 - 15 times and youd think id know when to expect it but no matter how many times i watch it and see that scene.. i always jump... oh and then there is the scene where he appears from behind the couch and laurie stabs something in his neck.. those two scenes without fail make me jump every time.
@@dominicmoroney tyler was scary bt was to forced and the mask looked scarier. nick was more creepy as he didnt over do his intimidation and looked blank
Meeting Nick Castle is absolutely one of the highlights of my life.. I was so unbelievably excited and nervous so yes it's a huge part of our life..I first saw Halloween in 1981 and I've never stopped.. I have a MM collection in my living room, blankets , pillows & many shirts and socks. And I think I'm relatively normal😁 passed it down to my oldest daughter who is a super fan as well
Me too! I just met him at the weekend, absolute legend and a dream come true…I also passed on the Myers love to my daughter ! Her Myers is JJC who was also so lovely and gracious.. childhood unlocked and life complete 😅
You can’t have a Halloween without Nick Castle( who is my favourite all time Micheal Myers. He did a great job portraying Micheal in 1978, alongside Tony Moran). John Carpenter/ Debra Hill…. Can’t beat that combo. Absolute geniuses!!!!! And best horror movie soundtrack ever!!!!!
Wow! what he just said about, “we’ll see if Michael hands the torch to someone else”. Just watched the new Halloween and sure enough that’s what happened.
I have only one autographed item in my collection . Ari Lehman signed a Pam Voorhees neca 2015 figure with Jason . It is cool. Go mama voorhees ! Ari wrote in blue pen 🖊🐶
the OG real micheal myers in my opinion no one can do the breathing better no one can do the walk better his performance really shined and he didnt even have to say a word that is what you call masterclass acting i remember being a kid and seeeing halloween then halloween 2 straight after and i was gutted when i realised nick didnt play micheal again in halloween 2
Halloween, the original was the first scary movie I saw as a kid. Michael Meyers is still to me the scarist of the crazies out there! Maybe because I grew up in Illinois, I don't know. I'm a 56 year old woman and on Halloween night, I return to my childhood and am scared to death of the holiday because of a guy named Nick Castle. If you showed up on my door step dressed as Michael, I'd probably, seriously die of fright! I'm not even half joking!
I met Nick a year ago an absolute awesome dude, I was nervous was basically star struck he calmed me down signed my 2018 mask and we took a picture really cool guy
Come to think of it, the whole head-tilt thing is kinda the only peek we ever get into what's going on inside of this person's mind. More so than we ever get from the mask itself coming off (of either adult or kid Michael). The only time we get to see him expending the slightest bit of energy for something other than terrorizing and killing the next victim. The only time he ever just stops and takes a moment for himself. In a very strange way, it's the most humanizing thing he ever does.
How true that is can be the most bothersome aspect of The Shape given the fact that for most of the film he's barren of emotion but for a split second it seems as if he's either annoyed at the current situation or he'd retreated inside his mind in search of a new form of my punishment to exact.
i have to disagree, he is looking at Bob like my dog looks at something he has never seen before. He is looking at him like ohhhh that's interesting look what i did, i get what you're saying but imo there is nothing human about that head tilt it's more of an animal instinct.
I like how they included Nick who was the original SHAPE from the original 1978 John Carpenter’s Halloween to return as THE SHAPE again in the new trilogy reprising the roll again. That’s cause John, Tommy and Nick are still good friends even though their careers over the years went separate ways. They were once THE COUPE DE VILLES a musical group too. That’s EPIC!!
Yes it's cool that he's back and involved, but 75% of the scenes for Michael Myers are played by the stuntman James Jude-Courtney. To be fair, he does a rather good impersonation of Nick Castle's 1978 "The Shape".
You are not alone there A lot of people complain because Halloween Kills wasn't the bare bones slasher flick that they're used to, I e. expected it to be, but I like they way they turned the story on it's head for a second to show it from a separate angle.
I've always like the way Nick Castle conducts himself in these Halloween interviews. Always humble and totally lacks that "self importance" that many people who have contributed to pop culture display. He totally gets the reaction fans of Halloween have towards him but doesn't act like he cured cancer or anything. Very genuine guy.
Like the original halloween is the best one of all-time Mr. Nick Castle is the greatest Michael Myers/The Shape of all-time nobody will ever top his performance as Michael Myers/The Shape.
What a great interview, Nick Castle is just such a great person & your questions & just being a pure fan was great to see. Absolute fantastic all around, keep up the great work!
What a cool interview. I got to meet Nick years ago at a convention and he was truly such a humble and down to earth guy. So polite and nice to each and every fan and loves to take photos and sign anytime. He’s truly a class act. I’m so glad that him and James Jude Courtney (who is most definitely the 2nd best Myers) are both just class act guys! So pumped to see Halloween Kills on Friday! 🎃🔪
"Whenever you pull out a butcher knife to just maybe cut some celery is there a part of you that just kinda holds it like Michael for second?" "Well yeah uh..... not really."
I'm glad he answered the question the way he did cause in the world we live in today.... otherwise would have aroused suspicion (if not an investigation).
Thank you for asking him if he is in Halloween Kills, I didn’t know if he was in it or not so it felt pretty good to hear from the man himself that he is!!💯🎃🔪
@@tapper701 unfortunately my bro I heard that his cameo got cut from Halloween Kills at the last second😢 at least the moments where you can hear the shape breathing is Nick’s breathing...
Jake, you and Sean Evans on the hot wings show are the best interviewers I know about, I wish i found more people with great questions and passion for their craft like you guys are! Great interview as always.
@@voXYoung Absolutely, I found Nardwuar the same way. I was watching a RU-vid video and someone mentioned him in a comment. I was enthralled, I've watched all of his stuff lol, enjoy!
Dr. Wynne was Dr Loomis's colleague and a Dr at the sanitarium where Michael was. Dr Wynne gave MIchael driving lessons and helped him escape. He was also the one who broke him out of jail in Halloween 4
When I saw the trailer of Halloween 2018 for the first time I was saying to myself I hope they got the original actor who played Michael Myers. I'm not saying anything bad to James Jude Courtney he's also great playing as Michael but I believe it just wouldn't be the same without Nick Castle being involved who was the first actor of playing the legendary character Michael Myers. 👍👍
So my whole point is when is Nick playing MM and when is James Jude playing MM cause both of these guys gotta be real old to even be moving around as much lol
The Legendary Nick Castle will always be the original Michael Myers.Tony Moran is nothing but a bitter, failed actor who wishes he could have been as memorable and successful as Nick Castle.
Nick Castle the Best Myers ever!!! The Original Halloween. 1 & 2 Masterpiece none after sheds light on it! Especially Halloween Kills has Killed the entire Masterpiece!
I saw the original when I was 10 years old...scared the shit out of me...never really babysat for anyone because of this movie..LOL...I am now 53 years old and the original still scares the shit out of me, spends days after watching jumping at things that go bump in the night...most iconic scene was when Laurie was standing in the doorway, dark room behind her and all of a sudden you see his mask come into view....as in Kills...all of a sudden standing behind Lindsey's car.....that's what makes Michael the best horror movie killer!!! BTW....you can't kill Michael...true pure evil never dies!!!!!
Alot of people dont know this, but the shape himself, nick castle was a movie director in the 90s with one film to his credit. You may not of heard of it, but it's a little movie called "Major Payne"..ever heard of it? 👌
funny how in a way, they essentially just found a taller, more fit version of how Nick Castle aged in real time. To maybe preserve the obvious need for an intimidating figure but also to pay homage. Idk, just my take lol
My name is Kathy Edgar I got all your collection of your movies you were awesome if I had my wish and dream about love to have your autograph the problem is I don’t know where I can find U 🥰🥰🥰🥤🎥👏👏👏👍☝🏼🍿
The reason Michael is so scary is a psychological thing......when you see the white mask all your inner fears of the unknown come.....because the canvas is blank, emotionless, and plain your own imagination terrifies you.....
