Friggin AWESOME! Three fifths of the real scorpions from the Lovedrive album playing it the way it's supposed to be played. I just wish the other two members and their management would give Michael the writing credit he deserves for that record and mend the fence. It should be all five of them performing this song. Thanks for posting this treasure!
This whole song , wow! And the solo finally sounds the way it was supposed to be played, of course only Michael can, he wrote and played it on the record! Without Michael's contribution Lovedrive would be half the good it is and Rudolf knows this.. That's why he begged his younger brother to rejoin Scorpions and to go on tour with them again...
I love this. I realize the sound, and even the performance is a bit rough, but the feel and the passion in the music comes through. Sometimes it is really great to here a more raw version of a song to appreciate it's essence. Excellent!
hahaha, my man, michael!!! just the fukn best, fellas!! this is great. imagine a 10 yr old kid outside, watchn this and not realizing who this is!!! WOW!!
Thank you for sharing! I suspect these rehearsal videos were recorded in Europe prior to Temple of Rock's 2015 Japan tour. I seen them on 2 and 3 May 2015 in California!!!
Jeffrey Jordan They were recorded in 2012, they appear on the bonus dvd of Temple of Rock: Live in Europe which was released in 2012, and was from their 2012 tour. I also think they were recorded in Brighton, England, the place where they live.
Herman was on "That Metal show" (I think it was), and he said he could never forgive Francis for stealing the rights to Scorpions songs, which I think aired about 5/6 years ago...
@Love God & Neighbor. It isn't petty. When you look at publishing, songwriting and mechanical royalties this can add up to millions of dollars especially with a band like the Scorpions who have sold millions of records and who are still selling large amounts of records and merchandising. Make no mistake about it, Scorpions international, Inc. is a multi national, multi million dollar business.
The Scorpions never had an album as strong after Lovedrive. That for me is another proof that Michael's influence is all over that album. And this song has a similar chord riffing like the work he did on UFO's Lights Out.
Michael Schenker has been one of my favorite guitarists for decades, I love UFO, and I love the Scorpions, and on my best day, I couldn't play nearly this well. Still, though, does anyone else think the guitar sounds a bit muddy here? Oh, and I never liked Dean guitars and probably never will, either. Maybe it's cos it's a crummy Dean and not his sweet old Gibson V.
Played in a basement and probably captured through a phone - not really the best to judge tone from. But, the way I hear it, it sounds Godly. The guitar has clarity, sustain and Michael plays the bejesus out of it.
PhlashRockinmann that dean is probably a better guitar than anything gibson is producing. Figure basement and recording gear has a lot to do with the sound
