I've seen Page, Beck, Clapton, Blackmore, EVH, KK Downing, Glenn Tipton, Dave Murray, SRV, Vivian Campbell, Iommi, and more live. For me, Michael Schenker's playing spoke to me the most.
Met him several times in 2004, when he signed everything I put in front of him.I believe these rehearsal rooms are under the sea front road in Brighton, but I could be wrong. The best influence of my life back in 1980 when I purchased the first MSG album, with him sat in the dentist chair.Cry For The Nations and Tales Of Mystery stand out for me, but my all time favourite is Let Sleeping Dogs Lie
Wouldn't this be awesome in your basement. Michael is the best . See him Cleveland . He rocked for 2 1/2 hours . One of the best concerts , I've ever seen.
If you want a Master Class in technique & tone here it is. Check out the way Michael just casually caresses the strings with his picking hand. Billy G is the same. If I could play like that with tone like that I'd feel like I was in Heaven. Bless You Michael !
A true phenomenon, amazing. No fancy 19 inch racks, no huge pedal boards, just an old basement, 2 big ass Marshall stacks, 2 basic pedals and a Flying V. Saw them in this line up in 2013, completed with Wayne Findlay on keyboards and guitar, that was 10 years ago already. How time flies.
The place looks like a little powerstation in the countryside where we lived. We called it Dog's Little House. 🙂🐕Would've been cool if we'd found MS and co. rehearsing there! ☺
Love the rehearsal shack here - so unpretentious. It's similar to the place a guy called Dog Churchill used to record - and live. :) Schenker plays better than ever.
This guy gets better year after year, unlike most players from his era. Marshall - tuner/delay - guitar, that's all folks. Herman, that's how to use a 4 piece kit!
Saw them in Manchester 28/11/2016 open for Judas Priest. What a fucking night. Filled with alot of beer, weed and heavy fucking metal. A night i will never forget. Love live Judas Priest and Michael Schenker
wow...i just noticed he NEVER uses his PINKY playing lead.... i would never have believed that THIS guy plays all those notes with three fingers... fantastic-
Saw him live in 2008, front row in a small venue in Nuneaton in the UK. He used just the three fingers, two pickups, 22 frets, six strings on his Dean V and a 50 watt Marshall stack to blow the roof off and melt our brains. No seventh string, no whammy bar, no whammy pedal, no sweep picking, no scalloped frets, just beautiful, pure tone and soul.
Jeffrey Jordan I'm thinking these were taken in Germany. I recall reading somewhere that Michael reheases not far from where he lives, forget the town offhand. His tour for 2015 Temple of Rock starts off in Germany.
This is at the old Studio 284 - a practise space in Brighton on the seafront which was used by all the local punk and metal bands, run by Austen of the great Flatpig. I practised there many times and some of the graffiti is very memorable haha. Sadly the space is no more due to the fact they had to move out due to work being done to the seafront arches but he’s running another called Blackrock Subway studios now.j
