That engine failure at Suzuka practically ended the championship fight then and there. Had Michael won at Japan, the setting for that final would have been very exciting, like in 1994, 1997 and 1998.
Ridhuan Abu Bakar, yes some people are like that, but I'm not...ever since I watched Schumacher dominated in F1, I have always loved him, always enjoyed seeing him drive and win and win and win, but even if he didn't win, even if he came second or third, I have still enjoyed seeing him drive, because he's my favorite F1 driver of all times. I have never complained or said "damn it's boring to see him win all the time" or "I miss the old times, but damn it was boring/iritating to see just Schumi win all the times", no, never...I loved it all. And he's still my favorite from F1, even tho he probably will never ever compete in F1 again... :(, F1 misses you and needs you Schumacher
7-time champion and had some misluck 1997,1998 and 2006. He really deserved title in 1997 (also in 1998) - many people are mumbling how barbarian was Schumi in 1997 - but I see it this way - it was his only way to win cause he had serious problems with car (he could even not finish the final race not by his fault BTW, so I understand his decision) and Villeneuve won a few races due to the failures of others (before the problems Schumi won easily start at Jerez and was comfortably leading - if not these problems he would definitely win). True champion of 1997 was Schumi for me and for many. And in 2006 he was on straight line to win another title - but Ferrari has failed him in 2 last races :(. Still have nothing against Mika Hakkinen. At least I'm not familiar with any bad behaviour by Mika. And when Schumi was happy it was so nice to watch :) . Other can say what they want (their choice) - but Villeneuve really didn't deserve this title.. Even in the final race he has won cause of serious problems of others (this time Michael) - like Hill in Hungary and some others.. Ant the DSQ was a pathetic joke to the guy who was best..
nowadays everyone keep saying how they missed those days when shcumi dominated the sport. but when they were in those times, they complain that F1 are too boring because only 1 driver dominate!! what a hypocrite...
