This is gold. Clarkson absolutely nailed it. Perhaps the greatest studio scene in Top Gear history. Clever idea. Would have loved to see the faces in the boardroom when this idea gets proposed. I would imagine "bloody brilliant" was mentioned a few times.
Even though people can buy the Ferrari FXX they can't take it home. Ferrari will transport the car with support crew to a track and at the end take it back.
@@ladecouverteoulignorance9891 actually hes not a vegetable his son said they would watch his races while in therapy and he just got transferred to paris for surgey to be able to walk again
When they recorded this episode, the Stig was Ben Collins, Schumacher just did the lap with FXX because it's his own car, and Ferrari wouldn't allow anyone else to drive it
Christ chris, he was the only one able to drive a FXX!?? What a bullshit! You’re a liar and completely clueless! And it seems you don’t know anything about the FXX History!
@@jblvxk couldnt even lace his shoes. Powerplug drs champion. All he needed was op engine and dirty air did the rest for him. 2014 onwards I simply dont consider F1. The decade that only gave us 3 champions is a pretty shit decade if you ask me...
I knew Schuey wasn’t really the stig, but it was just the most amazing TV moment for me to see him there, I had a suspicion from his mannerisms on the sofa it was gonna be him. As a Damon hill fan in the early 90s I despised him, but only years on could I be honest with myself at his true talent, and have had nothing but respect and admiration since. Keep fighting Michael. 7 times a legend!
Just look at him, his posture, his movement, it's no doubt even with the helmet on. An exhilerating moment for sure! Funny thing is, Mick resembles him in how he moves, his stance. Can't wait to see what he'll achieve.
I actually met shumacher on the 27 march of 2012. I had no idea who he was as I dont follow formula 1 racing. I had spent the night in Madrid on the 26 march while having a stop in Madrid, having come from Morocco. In the morning of the 27 march I was due to take a flight back to Denmark, but I missed my flight due to me not recognising the 1 hour ahead time difference switch. So while I frantically went outside to search for a shuttle bus to take to the next terminal so that I could purchase a new ticket home, I saw Schumacher standing in front of a very large bus. I walked straight up to him and asked him if the bus he was standing in front of was a shuttle bus and then proceeded to tell him that I had missed my flight. He was so nice and then smiled at me and told me, ''no, but you can come with us to Valencia''. I said, ''no, I really need to find a shuttle bus''. Then I looked at his red shirt that he was wearing, and in small letters there was in writing FORMULA 1 on his shirt. That confused me, so I looked up at him and asked,''Formula 1?!''. He just smiled back at me and never mentioned who he was. So then I went on my way pacing up and down looking for a shuttle bus and I noticed that a few men from his team were looking very strangely at me, which all prompted me to google formula 1 and there was a picture of schumacher, a 7 time world champion! Ha! Anyways, he was such a down to earth, just genuine real nice guy. True story! :-)
God. Knowing that the head shake after the first request to take off the helmet was Schumi improvising makes this so much better. Get well soon, Michael. We miss you.
The legend that will always be, the maestro......Michael Schumacher. Thank u so much Michael for so many years of heart racing excitment. Massive respect. God bless.
Always loved that they purposefully botched the reasonably priced car lol. He's Michael Schumacher. He doesn't need the bragging rights lol. Plus his FXX run was beautiful. It was his car because there are only 30, and Ferrari wouldn't lend top Gear one, and they certainly weren't going to say no to Michael Schumacher bringing his along lol.
I love the reaction of the that guy in the wheelchair. He's just engulfed in emotion. This is what my soul was doing the first time i saw this episode. It can just be described as euphoria. I've been a massive Schumaher fan ever since i can remember myself. I was 4 years old when he had his debut in Jordan and don't remember that, but i remember his days from Benetton on and oh boy, when he joined Ferrari. For me he is the biggest legend in F1's history and i honestly think the Golden Era of F1 wouldn't have been the same w/o him. His achievements are on a whole another level compared to nowdays Formula 1.
For the people fighting it out in the comments: This particular FXX was a gift by Ferrari to Micheal when he retired for the first time. The FXX was a track-only car and a quite coveted one too. Ferrari only allowed people who owned the cars to drive it, they weren't even allowed to take the cars home, it stayed with Ferrari and was only available on track. Same as the Aston Martin Valkyrie.
@@wecky2003 When he join Ferrari they hadn't won a title for decades, he even make it that they reshape the race track, he knew every person in the team, he knew their problems and thank to him they had an incredible team spirit (you can watch how many have tears in the eyes when he last time were with them), thanks to it they kept improving the car year after year. It took them 4 years to get to the top and thanks to him Ferrari, the oldest f1 team won the title for the first time in 18 years. There were other great drivers, but they always drived for the best team, he made the team great, he is a real champion, the greatest ever! Period!
For those who are arguing about MSC vs HAM. I am a big Schumacher fan. Look. Dosen't matter if Hamilton exceeds Schumacher in titles or races won. Schumacher is a LEGEND. Hamilton will be a LEGEND. He is a good driver. Maybe MSC knew about engineering, knew more about cars. But they both are amazing. MSC wont be a smaller person if Hamilton exceeds him in any way. Someone will exceed Hamilton in the future. Juan Manuel Fangio, Alberto Ascari, Ayrlton Senna, Nikki Lauda etc. They are all legends. Legends are equal! The statistics that who won what are pointless then...okay? Be happy that we had MSC, be happy that we have Lewis, and support the rising stars!
Him refusing to take off the helmet off at first wasn't scripted - that was Michael own idea to increase the tension for TV. The crew were blown away at the genius of it.
I met MS after the British GP in 2002. It was a wet race which he won easily. Security wasn't tight like now so I was wondering around the back of the paddock heading for my car and he came out of the back of the Ferrari garage. He was a nice guy. Get well soon.
#KeepFightingMichael Schumacher was, and still is, the greatest Driver F1 has had, and it all started at the 1991 belgian grand prix where the clutch went at Raidillon and retired on lap 1, 1991 was one of only 4 seasons in which he didn't have a win, which is just simply astonishing if you ask me.
@@KingEddo8 if she got smacked (if that's what you're referring too) then she more than likely wouldn't of gone on national TV or at the very least would of stuck on some sunglasses as that's a common technique for abused women. Don't worry about it my man😁✌️
At the time he was just the greatest driver there had ever been and probably is still among the greatest ever. Having him on the show alone would have been a great pop. In combination with the stig coming out, this was tv gold.
hoplite46 He was recovering last I heard and close to being able to walk again (that was about 2 1/2 years ago). Look it up. Edit: Never mind, just looked it up for myself. Sounds like he’s still in a coma but possibly being moved to the US for better treatment.
The tears comes to my eyes; Schumacher is the greatest of all times....no matter what the others say, and of course it was with Ferrari, no with the traitors of Mercedes.....
Imagine how amazing it would've been if Michael had, secretly, been the real Stig all along. I know if I'd been in his position, I'd have done it for the shits and giggles. Fight on, Michael.
