We love Michael Singer’s work. As long as he and RU-vid allow us to post these videos, we will.
We do not receive ad revenue from these videos, but RU-vid may.
If you would like to learn more about Michael Singer’s work, here are a few suggestions:
- Every Sunday, Monday & Thursday, he releases talks at www.tou.org.
- Every Sunday, Monday & Thursday night, he gives a live talk at his Temple of the Universe in Alachua, Florida. Anyone can attend for free.
He’s written several books. They are phenomenal, even the ones written in the seventies. (We will receive a commission if you purchase books through these links.)

If you’re wondering what Mickey’s saying at the beginning and end of each talk, it is:
Jai Guru Dev, Jai Masters. Jai Guru Dev is a traditional Hindu phrase that means Glory to the Great Teacher (the most accurate translation would be glory to the shining remover of darkness), where the great teacher here is generally considered to be the Divine Soul, while we, as human beings, are considered the individuated Soul. Jai Masters means Glory to the Masters, some of whom Singer refers to at times.
Thank you for visiting. Peace, my friend.

We as individuals are nothing more than an atom in the great „body“ of the universe- our knowledge means nothing because it can’t be nothing else but partial! You explain it exquisitely Mickey❤ I appreciate your being so much 💕🌹😍🙏🏽

Sorry, but I have a negative comment about this video. Imagine this. You’re out for a hike and see a bear on the trail ahead of you. Do you say “I can handle this” and keep walking toward the bear? Obviously not. You choose a different path. Here’s a less obvious one. Imagine that you’re working on yourself, and you begin to realize that your family is continuously negative and toxic. Do you say “I can handle this” and continue to spend a lot of time with them, or do you change your path? I love Mickey’s wisdom, but this message didn’t help me understand how to make difficult decisions of this sort.

You may be interested in the video we released yesterday (For a Fulfilling Life - Work with Your Thoughts and Emotions ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-eBwIpgDBe2Q.htmlsi=QKtBz_x9gaB58uIE ) In this talk, he distinguishes between real problems outside that can cause damage, like your bear example, and problems inside that we create with our thoughts and emotions. Your toxic family example is a tough one. My only suggestion is if you practice relaxing and releasing the small things, you are better equipped to tackle the big decisions because you've learned how to take your personal self out of the equation. Much peace to you!

The point is to accept all that exists and happens and to not start a whole new chain of thought around the bear or the toxic family. You can STILL make the right decision which is to get away from the bear or to draw boundaries from your family. In fact, you'll react better and manage things better because from the frame of mind you're in, you'll see things more clearly and not react from a place of hurt but from a calmer, rational space. It's seeing the bear and then going "Oh no! I'm gonna die and I should never have listened to my friends and gone on this trail.. etc.'. You still deal with reality and react in a way that makes sense. You just don't add a new layer of emotions to it.

I understand what you mean and I used to wonder the same thing about tougher situations as well and what I'm realizing is that, he doesn't really speak much to the more difficult situations as he speaks about your overall surrendering to the little things that often create a big rift inside of our minds. Eckhart Tolle is another teacher who I love and speaks about the same things in a totally different way focusing more on presence. He says this: If you're not happy, you have three choices-- you can try to stay and change the situation, or you can leave, and if you can't do either one of those, you must surrender so that you don't continue to bother yourself about what is already happening, that you cannot control. Eckhart goes on to say that of course you can and should make plans and take action to be able to change the situation, but in the meantime, staying present and surrendering to the moment is the only way to mitigate suffering while you work to change things when the time to do so is there.
