In 1995, I played this wonderful masterpiece of a song for a young lady I dated. My girlfriend became my wife during the Summer of 1996. Nearly 27 years/3 kids later, it ain’t nothing I wouldn’t do for my wife, she’s earned it a hundred times over. Our love gets stronger every year. God is good❤️
We might not hear these kinda jams anymore since this kinda music is inspired and birthed from souls that grew up in traditional Afro-American churches. The traditional gospel music upbringing has had a lot to do with the roots of RnB Soul, just to mention but one. The problem now is that most churches are mixed racially and there are pop influences from the Caucasian congregants that have thus far had a heavy influence on the style of gospel music we listen to these days. [NB: THIS IS NO RACIALLY PREJUDICED POST... JUST IN CASE] There's a heavy following of the likes of Hillsong style (which is pop/rock in sound) of music such that the new generation of Afro-American gospel artists have unwittingly followed suite on that influence. Therefore the music they sing in church is this Hillsong style. You don't hear that traditional gospel anymore in most churches these days. It's that very reason. And as a result, the musicians that come out of church into the circular music industry bring the pop'ish/rock'ish influences and that soul we grew up with, is very much lacking at best. If you have been wondering why, I believe this is the answer. Many people know that churches have always been the breeding ground for Afro-American artists/musician/producers who mostly ended up in the secular music world of RnB, Soul, Hiphop, Jazz, etc. They have historically brought that soul we have enjoyed so much. If someone has a differing view, please share so we can learn...
Ali Madalane, I wholeheartedly-agree. But Mecca Don folded after the Melieck Britt CD dropped. That Adina Howard income was running low at the time I'm assuming.
wow! hold on to it for you have a valuable masterpiece that is out of print now as a collectors item selling for up to $115.00 per copy new and unwrapped w used copies selling for as little as $30 to $50.00 bucks........
@Michael, Oh yeah that is you. How is Max and Co. doing? Mecca Don had great producers....they reminded me of Grand Jury ROME's producers with the ballads. They made nice stuff for Melieck Britt, Sa-Deuce, and Adina.
When I first listened to this album with Michael, he told me this was his favorite song on the album. It's a gem! Songs live forever. Thanks Michael, for sharing your soul... ONE. p.s. It would be great to connect with you again ~ you're the greatest! Check out QUAVIUS - New Start ...The Foundation (Touch Independent Records)
