Michael Thomas Proves Saints Culture Eroding Under Dennis Allen 

How can you respect a guy who brings Jimmy Graham back and won't use him DESPITE having Red Zone issues?

Michael Thomas is trying to let everyone know that these former Raiders, Derek Carr and Dennis Allen, should not have been calling out Chris Olave in the first place. The blame needs to be on Derek Carr's poor decision making and Dennis Allen's failure to be a good head coach and correct Derek Carr. Derek can not correctly read the field. Michael Thomas is trying to let everyone know that the main problem with the offense is the quarterback and coaching. This says a lot about Dennis Allen. Either he does not know the offensive schemes himself and that this play was not supposed to go to Chris or he is willing to wrongly throw Chris under the bus to protect his former Raider buddy Derek Carr. Either way it is troubling for the Saints.

I agree 100%. I even see it pre-game during warm-ups. As someone who’s worked security on the Saints sideline for the last eight years, the difference in energy I see now compared to only two three seasons(19/20) ago is apparent. From the pregame warmup routines I remember Brees having with the o-line receivers & even DB’s to Sean shaking all the players hands during stretching, I don't know. The energy level seems off, I noticed, vs Tampa & now Thursday. The pregame preparations just seemed like a synchronized unit. To me it’s The leadership at the head coach position that’s a reflection of these small things that go unseen off-camera. even on that throw away by carr, & the comments by Dennis afterwards further prove this point. Essentially throwing Olave under the bus when good & well that ball had nothing to do with Olave to begin with.

I commend Thomas for the tweet reply. He probably sensed Olave was getting hosed and was going to be in an even worse place with his morale sinking further if someone didn't go public and have Olave's back regarding the problem Carr started. It's pathetic that we need the players to provide the transparency and honesty DA and Carmichael refuse to give.

Shout out to Mike Thomas and shout out to our media for calling it what it is, b/c Dennis Allen and Derek Carr would have simpletons believe Olave is to blame, or is some sort of problem. He's not and the Saints community is too smart to fall for it b/c we are coming off over a decade of damn good football. Dennis Allen shouldn't have given out any specifics on the Olave situation. He should have said, "We're going to handle this in house."

Matt I’m with you on a lot of things! But I feel Mike was just backing up his 2nd year WR. Because DA handled that answer wrong. Instead holding his 10 year vet QB accountable and how he’s be acting on the field! He tries to blame Olave. That’s why I feel there is a lack of Respect for DA. That was bad. The major red flag was last year when Kamara said that penalties were being committed in practice but no one was held accountable for it. It’s crystal clear now… the Saints org has no discipline and has zero leadership from the people who are supposed to be leaders. DA isn’t it, and Carmichael with his meek and timid personality certainly isn’t either. The next era of Saints football can not come fast enough… it’s almost enough to make me root against the Saints knowing that losing is the fastest way to bring about the inevitable change that will be necessary.

Still you guys refuse to call out Carr ! As an ex college WR I know for a fact Chris Olave’s route was only a clear out route and he did his job because T Hill’s zone to may the catch was wide open ! So Carr tried to force a fly route that had a CB sitting three yards on top of olave , LOL , no good QB would force that through instead of throwing to a wide open 7 (T Hill) for a first down. Moreover , want proof look up the play call did even look a 7

Anyone who's willing to be accountable for their mistakes and not blame others, should be able to do so publicly, not just in private. Carr isn't playing well and is getting paid a lot by a team that honestly couldn't afford it if he wasn't going to elevate, let alone get worse than he was...So i'm perfectly fine with Thomas, Olave, AK, and whoever publicly holding him or any other player accountable when you have a defense putting everything on that field and getting let down because our offense can't stop beating itself.

Where’s the communication by Carr? When Brees was running the offense he would’ve communicated with Olave to run hard because I may come to you since your one on one. Allen is a bad head coach and Carr isn’t a good quarterback and that’s the real issue.

First Derrick Carr shouldn't have thrown Chris Olvae under the bus! It's his first year in New Orleans and that is a bad look. Then the fact Dennis Allen didn't just correct the issue in the locker room and side with Carr was a big mistake as the head coach! Now Derrick Carr will have to apologize to the team in private or face losing them. Cam Jordan was really supportive at first, now you see nothing 😂

I think you’re analyzing the Mike T tweet incorrectly. I don’t think it was about Hanging Derek Carr out to hang, but more about throwing a life raft to Olave. Olave got scapegoated by his Head Coach. I think it could be a respect thing, but Dennis brought that on himself. He’s done nothing worthy of respect. You threw Jamies under the bus last season after injury, you brought in and over paid a QB(that is not better than Jamies) and you brought in staff that he liked from his raider days. And the team sucks. It’s a lot happening, but the issue isn’t the roster. It’s Coaching and the QB position.

I'm not arguing one bit about this peice; he's absolutely 100% correct. That being said, it goes higher up than just D.Allen. WHAT team would keep a very inconsistent worthless Q.B. (Winston), get rid of a rookie who was being pretty consistent for a rookie (Jake Luton), and then bring it a veteran qb who isn't much more consistent than Carr? This is NOT ALL on Allen. In regards to Allen, the Saints front office made Allen the head coach, if he's such a great coach why wasn't he hired as a head coach somewhere else before Payton left. Let's talk about the shit show Payton left; Payton traded away every one of the Saints good picks for the drafts his last year at the Saints. Saints had to make deals to get any sort of decent pick #s in the past couple of drafts. Head coaches, like military officers, look good whenever the leaders under them train and prepare the troops under them well. The troops actions are a direct reflection upon their leadership. It all rolls down hill. Troops follows their leaders. If the Sgt is jacked up then the troops as a whole is jacked up. If the qb is jacked up then the team is jacked up. If the O.C. and D.C are jacked up then so is the team. If the coach is jacked up then the O.C, D.C, and team are jacked up. If the front office is hiring and keeping inconsistent players (i.e. Winston, Carr, Allen) then the problem starts there. It all has to be fixed at the head of the system and the head is above Allen; they are the ones who put Allen in charge. Almost all head coachs were, at one time, either an O.C. or D.C. before becoming head coaches and not all of them are head coach material; thats why not all of them are head coaches. Just my view point of this total shit show I'm seeing from the Aints (not Saints anymore) organization. I've been a Saints fan all my life; through the bad and the good. And this looks just like things were before Payton came in. Payton was a great coach but he left the team in huge bind upon his exit. Saints need to find a real head coach and a real qb. They shouldn't look for a Payton or a Breez; they need to get a good head coach in the same manner whenever they got Payton as well as a qb. Allen is a good, not great, D.C. but he's a srap H.C. Winston and Carr both need to be gone. Saints have a great team on both sides of the ball. The weak points, for the most part, from the players position are the 2 very inconsistent qbs. From the coaching staff point there's a lot to be desired.

Have Carr call his own plays and go to no huddle as much as possible for a game. You are paying the guy 2 million+ dollars a game and he obviously does not trust his play caller. Also, I do not care what the progression is. You go to your spot on every play or take a seat. Otherwise, put Jameis in for a game and see if everyone will play like grown-ups for him.

DAs answer still doesn’t make any sense to me. The CB is 10 yards off of olave before the snap so he is playing deep. Where is Olave supposed to break free after 30 yards which takes at least 4-5 seconds to get there. It’s 3rd and 5 and you know your oline stinks so he won’t have that much time to throw, let alone enough time to get under the ball. I don’t care how fast you run, it won’t work. Also it’s outside shoulder so he is pinned on the sidelines and that has almost 0 probability of success. If DA is sticking up for his QB, that makes no sense because it’s not the right place to go with the ball. If that CB was 0-5 yards off of olave at the start sure I would agree with coach. But dude situational football, you needed 5 and the defender is 10 yards away… don’t they teach QBs to recognize that and audible or just go with the play as called and throw to Hill because he was open enough.
