Maybe we never saw mike's real potential. if mike would have had a great o line and some good wideouts probably he would have reached a superbowl. just imagine a prime michael vick with the matt ryan's falcons. or just imagine if chip kelly would never have destroyed that eagles. Mike vick in his prime was a top 10 qb. just see what he did with a "good" philly eagles team.
I love how self aware he is when it comes to his mechanics rolling to his strong side. Saying that his motion was already a slinging motion and running that way just exaggerated that motion almost where running to his off side, he was forced to open up and throw the ball in a more sound and textbook motion. I gotta say though, if you take vick's pocket delivery you would never believe the velocity that ball comes out with...its so easy for him man.
Vick was so good he should have been given more leeway to do what he liked doing regardless of whether it was "correct" or not. Great coordinators put the best players into situations where they get to run the plays they're most comfortable running. Also love hearing his takes as a commentator.
Vick talking about a full hip turn and how your right hand on a left handed Qb is important. My left hand is how I target and playing waterpolo you realize square shoulders and vector-point throwing used in American sports. Interesting to hear from a lefty like Vick ❤️💯
A note most European players use squared up shoulder techniques when throwing. Even feet some would call it. In gym class we all were taught to throw with our non dominant foot front and to use your shoulder and foot as a vector to make the ball go right where you choose. The difference is what the goalie sees. Goalies can visualize vector throwing better which is why we use it in baseball and in football. But it gives rise to the batter and defense players respectively to see the trajectory and call the pitches location in time. The reason sports like waterpolo, hockey and soccer reason squared up throw/kicking has the best efficiency to defending players such as goalies in all sports. They can’t call the direct location until the ball moves forward and with complex motions to make the ball spin it give rise to trick shots. Both are utilized to the fullest in their respected crafts
Exactly. NFL coaches are so full of "methodology spin" they don't even know how to LISTEN seriously to their own accomplished players. That's why so many teams are mediocre. If I were his coach I would have embraced it and challenged him. Do it, but you had better be successful or you will do it my way. Done! That is how a smart coach should get the absolute best out of their baller talent. A baller knows when he comes into the league what he can do. NFL coaches, work hard to make them average-by putting mechanics OVER unique skill. And that is why many college ballers turn to average Joe's in the NFL. It's like in basketball, making a player like Magic Johnson stop look-a-way passes and do chest passes only because he is playing at a higher level in the NBA.
Not at all. They still have to play within the system. You don't try to change an elite level QB or player who comes into the league with a unique accomplished skill set. I am not talking about everybody. The magic Johnson's of the league and the Allen inversions of the league. Basketball gets it and allow them to do what they do within the game plan. The NFL try to make everyone play the exact same. WRONG!!!
Born in Torrance Cali like HOF Tony Gonzalez moved to OC Cali. Receiving a pass from Vick7 is priceless. Vick7 is probably the most talented NFL athletic duel QB ever targets a pass NFL Hall of Fame Tight End. Much respect to these men on them making it on Fox sports!

The reason why Vick throws better going right is that he had one of the strongest arms ever. In crunch time it's harder to throw the slow ball sometimes. Gunning the ball is more natural.
Michael vick and tony gonzalez ex-falcons on fox sports cool!!! I'm glad they're on fox sports and I wished michael vick was tony gonzalez teammate and not matt ryan because I dislike matt ryan and matt ryan's not my type anyway!!!
Yeah, these guys are professionals and make it look easy, but a play can be made or broken by one guy simply not doing his job. That's why each play is so complicated: ever try getting eleven guys to do exactly as everything is planned? Now repeat that for 80 plays a game. Good luck.
i’ll never forget i transferred schools and tried to tryout for the football team in 6th grade at the new school they had 2 lefty Qbs when i tell you i didn’t catch a pass the whole day! I was so embarrassed I didn’t comeback for day 2 of the tryouts.
